  • Have you also thought about the kind of food they target towards kids? Or the fact that the lifestyle of today's youth is sitting at home watching TV! Have you thought of the money these corporation but in advertisement to brainwash young kids into being fat and lazy? Oh no you didn't cause of course people think there's "free will." You can tell a kid anything you want but if everyone his age don't think working out is cool they wont do it. It's definitely a societal mentality as well.

  • You know, I think "school is only six hours a day" isn't true anymore. Typical schools kids wake up, go to school for six hours, do extra carriculars (they feel forced into) for 2 hours, come home and do 5 hours of homework, an hour for shower and meals, 1 hour for transport, most kids feel pressured into 2 hours for a job, and your already down to 6 hours sleep with NO exercize. I used to go to a normal school and would sit there all weekend crying because I just wanted to crawl up in bed and

  • im 11 12 this year and i always do push ups first i could not even go halfway on it and now i can touch ny lips on the floor and then i did it with my knuckles and now they are nicely toned i know only some parts of the body can be toned but my knuckles are beaytiful!!

  • im 12 and i play alot outside i play basketball baseball and football but im just not losing weight my dads got some weightloss pills he never uses there supposed to increase how much weight u lose when your outside and ive been getting kind of curious about them should i try one?

  • @kyuubisharinan3296 Give it time. Weight loss doesn't happen fast. Don't take the weight loss pills. Just don't eat too much extra junk like cakes, candy, cookies, potato chips, sodes, juices, drinks with extra sugar and you'll be fine. Keep playing outside and you will get in good shape.

  • Great advice. I helped my little brother lose weight. And I found the best thing for it was just to give him a love of an active lifestyle. Then he does the rest on his own. Your videos definately do that too, thanks alot for the posts!

  • why laying on your stomach while watching TV?

  • I noticed in this video that your activity suggestions were basically team sports. I always hated sports, but I had other ways of being active. You should do a vid that has a list of suggestions that would appeal to all kids.

    Some things I did that kept me active as a child & to this day are:

    Playing Drums, Canoe/Kayak, Build Anything I Could Think Of.

    I think the key to getting kids active, is to find out what their interests are. The last thing an overweight kid wants to do is play sports.

  • I am not embarrassed to talk about my weight in any shape or form, but i am considered quite obese given the numbers. I am 5' 7'' and 247 lbs, but i am an avid weightlifter and i love my life and right now i am on a steady decrease in weight, slow, but steady. :)

  • all you have to do as a teenager is eat healthy and find a sport you love and stick to it, that should keep you at a good weight. Also remember theres a difference between muscle and fat

  • Great job!  If you're still a vegetarian you certainly can incorporate fish, chicken and lean beef back into your diet.

    I began highschoolwearing XL Tshirts and size 36 pants, I joined soccer and swimming and my friend convinced me to go vegetarian. So I started to eat healthier and now its been a whole year and now im at 174 pounds so i've lost exactly 50 pounds and im planning to go all the way down to 155 or 160.

  • well about me I'm 11 yrs old 160cm and 130pounds and I got fat because of candy's and staying the hole day in front of the computer...me and my friend are overweight but she doesn't listen too me...I told her to stop eating candy's and junk food and to come with me to go jog in the park but she just doesn't do it and I lost about 6 pounds in one week by not eating any more candy's and eating cereals with less sugar and of course exercising.

  • I am 15 years old, 6 ft tall, and 188 lbs : ( I bit on the chubby side. I was 250 lbs though so I know what to do, I work out every day of my life, I absolutely love to work out. Basicly, If you want the best results eat 1500 cal aday, and walk 5 miles aday, that burns off 1/3 of your intake, stick to it, I lose 2-4 lbs a week now, I've lost over 60 lbs now.

  • Heres what i would do , well what i m doing now ...abit of advice fro you kids

    Obviously go on a diet and only stick to your three main meal Brekfast Lunch And Dinner no snacks inbetween

    Then pick hobby you like doing Dance/Basketball/Skateboarding Ext... And try do that for a our a day ... then as time goes by Increase that to maybe 10 or 15 minutes per day . Now i am on 2 and a half hours a day of dance

    And then lower food portion you have in your meals

  • I have a boy that just turned 6 and is 80 lbs. and 4'1. I limit the snacks and have in some kind of sports activity twice a week... Ive managed to keep his weight the same for the past 5 months, but hes still on the bigger side for his age. Any other ideas on how to get him to slim down. I would really appreciate any advise!   • Same in AMerica. Food courts, fast foods, convenient stores, computers, games, etc. It is slowly making our youth very over weight.

  • 20 years ago I was outside and played almost every day. I also ate cookies, sweets, chips, fries and so on but I never went overweight.

    Today I see my seven year old nephew (who is not overweight but also not slim) coming home from school and heading to the PC to play Grand Theft Auto the rest of the day. I already told him and his father to come to my children's training but he likes it more playing on the computer. Pity...

  • i got one regime. i started about few days ago and i lose around 4 kilograms.... take vitamins 2 capules and 2 glasses of milk a day and go on with ur daily activites.. it was a little unhealthy but it works

  • You have a big butt because your body chooses to store extra fat in your butt instead of your stomach like most dudes. If you eat less and exercise more, you will lose weight, and it will come from your butt.

  • my school is even worse. it has THE MOST unhealthy food youll ever see and it has the gall to say that its trying to be healthy. they put up food pyramids but does that help with fish and chip fridays and nacho cheese tuesdays. i usually love fish, chips and nachos but they put so much of oil and cheese that its sickening. im surprised everyone in my school isnt obese.

  • Yeah, I first saw vending machines in one of my highschools, in 1978, and my jaw dropped. This was a new thing, to put soda pop and candy machines in a public school. Schools do it because they get money from it. So take a stick to your school board and crack some skulls, because the school boards are filling their wallets by sickening our kids.

  • Hey Steve, such a good message. Its a shame to see all the overweight kids about now days. I was considered a fatty when I was a kid (now 30) but by todays standards I'm not even close. I agree the problem is a combination of poor diet and lack of physical play. Now is this the kids fault or ours as responsible adults.

  • The problem with most over weight children is that they're taught bad eating habits by their parents... often times their parents don't offer healthier foods in their homes...what are these kids to eat then?

  • Also, don't lift weights until you're at the absolute minimum of 16 years old or at a height you're happy with like 6'2 6'3. It will stunt your growth and it sucks when you're older

  • don't know about that one...i've been lifting weights since i was 12 and I grew to be taller than my dad and my brothers. None of them ever lifted weights.

  • What kills me is the school system here cuts recess time as a punishment for poor classroom behavior. Then have the nerve to send home info sheets on increased activity to keep kids weight down. Go figure! LOL!

  • The thing is, that parents don't know a thing or two about how the body works. If they new, they would make sure that their kids have only the best. Right?

    In school they are not teaching how to increase metabolism, how to burn fat... what is aerobic exercises. People don't have information... and they expect that some kind of miracle will solve all their problems.

  • I think a big reason more kids are overweight these days is because adults can't trust them on most streets alone anymore, with violence and drugs and all of that, and the parents are too busy to drive them places, like sports games. The parents don't have to worry about the kid if the kid just sits at home and watches tv, and they're too stressed out to make an actual balanced dinner and just get pizza instead. At least that was my case growing up.
