@3dus I mean tedious in the sense that it can be monotonous at times (depends on the material you are editing), and the fact that a good, competent editor can make a film. Any profession can be tedious; I wasn't insinuating that is boring.

I still use a typewriter every now and then, but prefer the simplicity of paper and a pen. :)

My comment was really geared towards the inept people that were like "this was painfully unfunny!", or "so stupid! who cares about the editor?!"

was heartbroken to hear the news.

Not sure why people felt the need to make comments about how awful this is, and unfunny it seems. It really wasn't for the public to see, but a sweet way for Tarantino/the other crew and cast to acknowledge someone who devoted thousands upon thousands of hours into an extremely tedious job.

@redraiderash Hey redraiderash. Editing is far from being a tedious task. We write stories with images and sound. It's where the alchemy of the film is made, unless you think writing on a typewriter is tedious as well. It's a lonely job, it's true, but it's addictive as hell. The problem is that it's such a mysterious job that only 3 people know: the director, the editor and the producer, everyone else, even within the filmmaking business, find it hard to understand it. Sally will be missed.

I never knew about Sally until Pulp Fiction, I was truely amazed on how well the film was done and started to research the people involved in the process of creating that film. This led me to all of the other films I had missed out on. I just logged on to check the news and seen the headline with her name, a complete shock. First thing I did was to search "Hello Sally" a Tarantino trademark for a beloved friend. My prayers go out to her family and Quentin, I am truely sorry.

I can understand why some people would be annoyed by these, but I actually think it's pretty sweet that Quentin takes the time to get his actors - most of them this time; I remember he got the whole cast of Death Proof in on it - to thank and acknowlege Sally Menke for her hard work.
