@mrbi11ify That's a good question, but you do know that both these phones have newer replacement models, right? There is the DROID X2 and the DROID Incredible 2, both of which are nice phones. In particular, the DROID X2 is a real powerhouse with a nice display. I haven't yet done any photo comparisons, however.

Love my Droid X. Screen size rules...yet it's light. I have occasionally forgotten it's in my pocket and had to feel around for it, lol. There are 3rd party apps that do most other "Incredible" features...like Beautiful Widgets for that animated weather clock. But both are great phones.
I got a HTC incredible at Best Buy for FREE (of course I had to renew a 2 year contract with Verizon), but I've been very happy with their service on my old cell phone. Hate the small keyboard, but I'm buying a stylus, so that should help. I have seen the Droid X, but haven't used it so can't honestly compare. I think the X just a bit too big to carry reasonably on my belt. I think they are very close -suggest you go to Best Buy and compare them in person.
@SairManzanas If you purchase a phone from Wirefly, you can get insurance from either Verizon or from Wirefly. Insurance costs extra regardless of the provider, but you can get Verizon insurance from Wirefly. Whichever option you choose, you have 30 days to decide whether you want insurance.

@jtibbs85 lets see... the previous droids all had those shitty touch sensitive buttons that everyone hated. they made them actual buttons because everyone complained about accidentally pressing the touch sensitive ones.
Incredible. I don't need a phone to watch a movie or what not. My friend has one and she likes it. Size wise, I think it will be a good phone, and the display looks good unless you're in the sun.

@sportsman6171 well yes, with different widgets anything is possible. I use the HTC widget for ;date/time/weather on mine. I love the phone and I totally recommend it ;)
This is seems like a race between the Motorola and HTC.. honestly I sorta like the HTC sense more than the Motorola interface.. But, I like the bigger screen and better camera on the Droid X.. So Droid X it is...:D

Between the X and the Incredible get the X just for these 4 reasons. 1) The X has a WAY better battery life than the Incredible unless you wanna go buy the Extended battery. 2) It's more durable 3) comes with more memory 4) the screen is way easier to type on and see in the sunlight.
they're both great phones. one is for the user who wants a big screen more stock android experience.
one is for the user who want's a more compact streamlined experience.
Both are EQUALLY amazing phones and offer big enough screens that nothing is really a problem.
I prefer the incredible due to it being a little big smaller and more pocketable, but the droid x is nonetheless THE best spec wise phone for verizon and offer's a great experience =)
alot of the differences the incredible has like pinch home, and "scenes?" where you can save your home preferences can be easily installed on any android device 2.0 or better with an app called launcher pro. and with launcher pro plus it gives any android phone resize-able widgets. so theres really no comparison on those aspects of the phone. which makes droid x on top. more memory is always best, and bigger is always better!! (i have droid x)

@keshealm My friend recently got the fascinate, and raves about the phone as a whole. But personally i'd rather have the Droid for the array of different abilities. Since the Droid X has the 8 megapixel resolution photography too you can't go wrong. But best way to see what's more proper for yourself, you should check them out at your local verizon store.
i think i'd rather have the droid incredible. I think that the droid incredible's design and software is a lot more eye catching then the x's regular android interface and it's back "hump". plus i'm a dedicated htc fan, and that droid x is just too big man. i know it would fit in my pockets but dang.
Just bought the droid x today and just waiting for it to be shipped in to my house (sold out so shipping will be on 9/21) i think its the better of the 2 phones but honestly its personal prefrence between the 2. Cant wait to get it i know its gonna be all that i hope for and more!
My uncle has the original Motorola Droid and he said I should get the X but as long as the Incredible has a good touch keyboard... I would get it cuz I like more of the customization but that's just me... I might have to go to the Verizon store when my contract is up and test each one...
The X seems like more of an Internet phone and more of a work-type phone I would put it and better display... But if you are looking for more design and personalization I would pick the Incredible...
i would love to keep my iphone but thanks to the shitty so called "3G" network of the AT&T i have to switch to verizon so its down to these 2 guys lol. I wish apple would just leave AT&T because they absolutely SUCK.

I don't like how everyone says "Motoblur sucks." Ok, it's alright. It's there, you don't need to use it. The Motoblur keyboard is better than the Sense keyboard (i have experience typing on both). That's about it. I don't sync my facebook to the phone. I don't really care about constant streaming social networking (kinda gay if you ask me). Both phones kick ass. You'll have a better phone than the iPhone either way you go
@Floopman15 honestly the big difference between the two (I have the Incredible and the Droid X) is sense UI compared to Moto's version of android. The Moto is currently on 2.2 and the Incredible hasn't yet got it. I prefer the DInc, you'll enjoy your X though. Android is great.
@benrc10 Well, my Droid X crapped out on me and died, and the VZW reps I spoke wouldn't let me get a warranty replacement.
I'll just upgrade to a DInc 'cause thats really my only option (except Asurion, but I don't want to pay $79 for a refurb phone... unless I could ask they send me a new one...)
with the 2.2 froyo update the incredible will be just as good as the droid x with the 2.2 froyo update giving the incredible 720p video and hotspot capability just like the droid x so it really comes down to preference.. do you want a huge ass phone or a phone that actually fits in your pocket like the droid incredible.. incredible ftw

shame you can't get either of these phones for a month as of now. So by that time the Droid 2 will be out with 2.2 and probably get HD video capture. Unfortunately I was assured by a Verizon rep that the Droid 2 will sell out on the 1st day due to the X and Incredible being sold out on backorder. Seems like ANY new phone is a major FAIL these days based on the fact that the companies can't keep up with demand.
The Htc browser supports Flash while the Droid X 2.1 does not. Hence the slightly faster internet loads on the Droid. By this reading though the Droid will have upgraded to 2.2 which will add the 10.1 Flash and Tethering.

I guess we don't use the phone for it's original purpose anymore, huh? I wanna know the quality of the phone as it relates to talking on it. Where are those reviews?

@keshealm My friend recently got the fascinate, and raves about the phone as a whole. But personally i'd rather have the Droid for the array of different abilities. Since the Droid X has the 8 megapixel resolution photography too you can't go wrong. But best way to see what's more proper for yourself, you should check them out at your local verizon store.

i think i'd rather have the droid incredible. I think that the droid incredible's design and software is a lot more eye catching then the x's regular android interface and it's back "hump". plus i'm a dedicated htc fan, and that droid x is just too big man. i know it would fit in my pockets but dang.

Just bought the droid x today and just waiting for it to be shipped in to my house (sold out so shipping will be on 9/21) i think its the better of the 2 phones but honestly its personal prefrence between the 2. Cant wait to get it i know its gonna be all that i hope for and more!

My uncle has the original Motorola Droid and he said I should get the X but as long as the Incredible has a good touch keyboard... I would get it cuz I like more of the customization but that's just me... I might have to go to the Verizon store when my contract is up and test each one...

The X seems like more of an Internet phone and more of a work-type phone I would put it and better display... But if you are looking for more design and personalization I would pick the Incredible...

I am an ATT customer but they aren't that good like they say, plus I've heard Verizon's 3g network is a bit better than ATTs. So I went ahead the bought the X. :) Thanks for the video.

I don't like how everyone says "Motoblur sucks." Ok, it's alright. It's there, you don't need to use it. The Motoblur keyboard is better than the Sense keyboard (i have experience typing on both). That's about it. I don't sync my facebook to the phone. I don't really care about constant streaming social networking (kinda gay if you ask me). Both phones kick ass. You'll have a better phone than the iPhone either way you go

@Floopman15 honestly the big difference between the two (I have the Incredible and the Droid X) is sense UI compared to Moto's version of android. The Moto is currently on 2.2 and the Incredible hasn't yet got it. I prefer the DInc, you'll enjoy your X though. Android is great.

@benrc10 Well, my Droid X crapped out on me and died, and the VZW reps I spoke wouldn't let me get a warranty replacement.
I'll just upgrade to a DInc 'cause thats really my only option (except Asurion, but I don't want to pay $79 for a refurb phone... unless I could ask they send me a new one...)

with the 2.2 froyo update the incredible will be just as good as the droid x with the 2.2 froyo update giving the incredible 720p video and hotspot capability just like the droid x so it really comes down to preference.. do you want a huge ass phone or a phone that actually fits in your pocket like the droid incredible.. incredible ftw

shame you can't get either of these phones for a month as of now. So by that time the Droid 2 will be out with 2.2 and probably get HD video capture. Unfortunately I was assured by a Verizon rep that the Droid 2 will sell out on the 1st day due to the X and Incredible being sold out on backorder. Seems like ANY new phone is a major FAIL these days based on the fact that the companies can't keep up with demand.

The Htc browser supports Flash while the Droid X 2.1 does not. Hence the slightly faster internet loads on the Droid. By this reading though the Droid will have upgraded to 2.2 which will add the 10.1 Flash and Tethering.
