Well, the first flight of the YF-22 was in 1990 and of the F-22 in 1997 but the jet was introducted in 2005, so we'll have to wait another 10 years to actually see the T-50 in the Russian Airforce or other countries.
Considering the Sukhoi bureau have over 45 years of expertise and have eclipsed even the MiG bureau, I would not even think of 'noob' to describe one of their products.
The USA has stopped manufacturing the faulty F-22s. The title of this video is misleading, if anything, compare the awesome sukhoi t-50 to the F-35. The raptor was designed in the early 80's believe or not.
@mtime6 the US did not stop production on the F-22 because it is faulty.....they decided that $339 million US dollars was too much to pay and so funding for the craft was stopped, and not to mention that the F-22 wasn't being developed until 1986, What you are thinking of is in 1981 the US develped a set of requirements for Advanced Tactical Fighter (ATF) to replace the F-15 Eagle and the F-16 Fighting Falcon, there is a difference.

@Spetsnazovets notice I said Russian copy. I have had aeronautical insight to know when something has been copied. The engine design is traditional of Russian Sukhoi fighters I will give you that (take a look at the su-33 engine layout and the su-27 engine layout), but the airframe resembles the F-22 raptor. The major advantage of the Russian airframe is that it is more likely to be much more rugged the f-22 as are most Russian fighters.
@craigdragon17 The reason for similar layouts is also that it is very stealth cooperative, I mean the T-50 resembles more of a YF-23 than a 22, as does an F-35C. The shinshin & various european prototypes & technological demonstrators also have a similar layout. The only outlier at best is the J-20 which tends to compromise some of its stealth as does the T-50, but the T-50 does so for maneuverability to better suit its multipurpose function.

It's like comparing Hornets to Tomcats when they were first made to me, one is a fighter with some adaptable capability, while another can fulfill multiroles without being overly specialised.
@craigdragon17 - of course the air frame is going to look like the F-22. Everything is stealth nowadays. There are only so many ways you can angle and shape the surfaces on a plane to lower its radar signature. Pretty much all stealth aircraft from here on in will have similar shapes.

Here is why, the principle around modern stealth is something called plan form alignment, which orients small surfaces on the airframe in the same direction like a camera lens, and because the vertical stabilizers are movable on the T-50, its radar signature could theoretically (cont

So in short, the t-50 has a much greater change of being shot down in a turn due to the broken stealth outline in a turn.

@craigdragon17 The difference between the US and Russian weapons design is simplicity. The Russian weapons are inovated and simple vs the US inovated and complicated weapons. The F-22 is plague with maintenace issue and the price is twice than that of the competitor.

@hotpocketpoison Stealth helicopters are old. The Commanche was stealth as old as 1996 which was crap. Not only that, stealth is hard to mentain and you would not go far especially on a helicopter. PS:the RAH-66 is the Comanche,and it wasnt crap,it was and still is the best performing helicopter out their,however after the advent of UAVs,a stealth helicopter was no longer needed,so it was canceled.
@hotpocketpoison If you know Russian SAM's, their radars can engage six targets at a time in a very long range( situated the radar far away from the SAM so that radars can pick up targets earlier than the SAM radar. In other words, no escape. US strategy was always redirecting the attention of the SAM to a UAV and hitting it from behind while its not looking. This strategy failed when the Yugoslavian SA-3 shot down the F-117, and what the crew did was just tinker with the old radar

The Russian 1R13 was known to detect the F-117 perfectly, and Russians know how stealth technology ticks(well, A Russian physicist discovered stealth for Lockheed too). The F-22 not being battle proven, have been stopped from production and being "replaced" by the F-35 tells you how much the F-22 has been of a problem for USAF.

And there were many Vietnamese aces back then. For example at 1972: US claimed 51 MiG-21s destroyed; North Vietnam claimed 53 US aircraft killed by MiG-21s, including 2 B-52 Stratofortress's.

@packr72 The T-50 is only a prototype. It's not mass produce yet. The Russians are not open to media when it comes to it's technological "BLUNDERS". Just like the F-22 who knows what problems the T-50 might have because the Russians won't even publish it.
The F-22 was develope back in the 80's. We have another fighter in the making but it's not out for the public yet. We might see it within a decade.

Well, the first flight of the YF-22 was in 1990 and of the F-22 in 1997 but the jet was introducted in 2005, so we'll have to wait another 10 years to actually see the T-50 in the Russian Airforce or other countries.

@mtime6 the US did not stop production on the F-22 because it is faulty.....they decided that $339 million US dollars was too much to pay and so funding for the craft was stopped, and not to mention that the F-22 wasn't being developed until 1986, What you are thinking of is in 1981 the US develped a set of requirements for Advanced Tactical Fighter (ATF) to replace the F-15 Eagle and the F-16 Fighting Falcon, there is a difference.

The engine design is traditional of Russian Sukhoi fighters I will give you that (take a look at the su-33 engine layout and the su-27 engine layout), but the airframe resembles the F-22 raptor. The major advantage of the Russian airframe is that it is more likely to be much more rugged the f-22 as are most Russian fighters.

@craigdragon17 The reason for similar layouts is also that it is very stealth cooperative, I mean the T-50 resembles more of a YF-23 than a 22, as does an F-35C. The shinshin & various european prototypes & technological demonstrators also have a similar layout. The only outlier at best is the J-20 which tends to compromise some of its stealth as does the T-50, but the T-50 does so for maneuverability to better suit its multipurpose function.

@TheSpielberger I have reviewed my previous statement and I have to agree, in terms of endurance, the T-50 is superior, but in terms of airframe view it still looks like a larger F-22 that is slightly less stealth. Here is why, the principle around modern stealth is something called plan form alignment, which orients small surfaces on the airframe in the same direction like a camera lens, and because the vertical stabilizers are movable on the T-50, its radar signature could theoretically (cont

This would be long enough for an F-22 pilot to shoot down the T-50. On the opposite side, if the door of the missile bay remained open on the F-22 the same situation would unfold. So in short, the t-50 has a much greater change of being shot down in a turn due to the broken stealth outline in a turn.

PS:the RAH-66 is the Comanche,and it wasnt crap,it was and still is the best performing helicopter out their,however after the advent of UAVs,a stealth helicopter was no longer needed,so it was canceled.

@hotpocketpoison If you know Russian SAM's, their radars can engage six targets at a time in a very long range( situated the radar far away from the SAM so that radars can pick up targets earlier than the SAM radar. In other words, no escape. US strategy was always redirecting the attention of the SAM to a UAV and hitting it from behind while its not looking. This strategy failed when the Yugoslavian SA-3 shot down the F-117, and what the crew did was just tinker with the old radar

@999cheetos999 you are the 5th person who i had to tell that the F-117 used older generations of RAM, which performed poorly in rain(the F-117 collected a lot of moisture during its mission because of the weather) the one that was shot down also had its bomb bay door stuck open, COMPLETELY compramising its stealth capability. plus a F-22 could detect the radar site and destroy it before the plane was in range of the missiles, then finish off the SAM site.

@hotpocketpoison That estimate is for normal or CRAP radar, usually, US never faced Russian SAMs and the only time USAF faced it ,they utterly failed (U-2 Sply plane). The Russian 1R13 was known to detect the F-117 perfectly, and Russians know how stealth technology ticks(well, A Russian physicist discovered stealth for Lockheed too). The F-22 not being battle proven, have been stopped from production and being "replaced" by the F-35 tells you how much the F-22 has been of a problem for USAF.

Radar has already surpassed stealth considering it is also older than stealth.I said a Russian scientist DISCOVERED modern stealth for Lockheed. Also, can I also say that US copied Horthen Bombers to make their B-2 Spirit or even F-117? And no, im sure that the CH-47(1960'[s) took some designs from the old Yak-24(1955) in tandem rotor design.

Also its good as a fighter,I dont have to remind to you how well it performed in Vietnam as a fight. F-15's cant even chase down MiG-25's in the Gulf

@999cheetos999 the HRP was not"shitty"it wasnt designed to carry a lot of people it was designed primarily as a cargo helicopter and so was every HRP variation after it and the performance of all of them were not"shitty"at all.and the MiG-21 with its delta wing design,small size,and powerful engines made it very good for almost all missions...BUT NOT PERFECT!in fact,MANY more MiG-21 were shot down by F-4 than F-4 shot down by MiG-21.and they could only carry a VERY small amount of munitions.

And there were many Vietnamese aces back then. For example at 1972: US claimed 51 MiG-21s destroyed; North Vietnam claimed 53 US aircraft killed by MiG-21s, including 2 B-52 Stratofortress's.

And no, information states that MiG vs F-4 is pretty much equal equal, check the battle records 1966-1972, 75 Mig-21's were killed by F-4 PII's and 72 Phantom II's were killed by MiG-21's.That record cannot let you judge who won, and basically, those are positively during dogfights. Not to mention that Russian export weapons are downgraded/stripped for others to modify...

@packr72 The T-50 is only a prototype. It's not mass produce yet. The Russians are not open to media when it comes to it's technological "BLUNDERS". Just like the F-22 who knows what problems the T-50 might have because the Russians won't even publish it.
The F-22 was develope back in the 80's. We have another fighter in the making but it's not out for the public yet. We might see it within a decade.

You know why are russian techs better? cause we maybe take more time to build it, but if its done. its works to 100% (Pak-fa can fly in rain :D, black shark didnt fall in sand storm compared with apache) and if russian engineers say, it will be invisible on radar, than it will be invisible (unstealthy stealth F-117 Yugoslavia).

F-22 cant even fly in rainy weather. Pak-fa is not just a jet, its a whole complex, that can be controlled from 3 ways, from Pilot, from earth and from AI of its electronics on board. Its one jet, that is so much like a squadron of jets. Pak-fa can destroy till 20 airtargets at the same time.

Boeing's is called the F/A-XX while Lockheed is the X-44. The T-50 will enter Service earliest in 10-15 Years, that would be 2021-2026.
The F-22 is in Service since 2002. The T-50 came 20 Years to late.
Even the Radar of the F-22, the APG-77 is better than the T-50's
