  • finally we don't have a rushed speed drawing! Thank you so much for this video!! You seem like such a cool mom too :-o

  • Thanks you so much for sharing..I'm having issue....please help......I looking for skin toned pencils.. I have pplenty of primsacolor pencils water colors or not???..... today i went to michael and purchased....Dark brown, peach Beige, Ligh Peach, and Sienna Brown..... and a ColouRless pencil... BUT it's not blending and i'm not sure how to use it.. can someone help...PLEASE.....and also Prismacolor used to say Watercolor theses do not is it safe to ASSUME they arewatercolor??? thanks

  • @grasshopper814 All of those colors you mentioned should allow you to create beautiful skin tones. I also was never able to achieve proper blending with the colorless blender pencil hence my ventures into Odorless Mineral Spirits. As far as knowing what you purchased I guess the easiest would be to do test scribbles and get them wet.

  • what kind of printer are you using? laser or ink jet.... sorry I'm french thank you for sharing all your tips.

  • @nbreault1 I use a Canon Ink Jet. The ink it uses is Canon Extra PG-210 Black Ink.

  • @dlc8405 thank you. I have the same ink as yours but not the same paper and something it smears... I have to let it dry more?

    thank you

  • omg i love u!! OAO i just love your vids and every time i but i go and but new art supplies(copic, prismacolors etc.) you have a wonderful tortorial up already!!! and your such a HUGE help!!! since i'm the only one in my fam who likes this kind of stuff i have to teach myself but thanks to you it is much easier ;D i've made you my new YouTube art buddy ~

  • @lunamoonneko Thanks for all that lovin' youtube art buddy =)

  • Thank you...

  • what if you don't have the stumps and mona lisa thing what eles do we do

  • @Animelover123410 You can use a paint brush. As far as other types of products, I've heard people use baby oil, turpenoid, Goo Gone but I have no experience with any of those. If you don't want/have any of those products you could always try "burnishing". I hope that helps.

  • Wow, I never thought about using an emery board for taking color off my blending stumps. Thanks for that. I'm going to use that in the future.

  • I draw and I was wondering would graphite pencil blend as well and what kind of pens/makers that won't blend when you use the paint thinner?

  • @aikosmf Sorry but I don't have any experience using paint thinner with graphite. I have used my prismacolor pencils and OMS to color in some Zentangle doodles that were drawn with Pitt pens and also a copic multiliner and it worked fine with those as far as the marker not smudging or bleeding the line work.

  • Um I live in U.S where could I find those blending things

  • @gomezjrr You should be able to find them in any crafts or hobby store like Michaels, Hobby Lobby, etc. I always find them in the same sections as colored and graphite pencils.

  • Where did you get that picture because I want to get the exact one to color it like you

  • @gomezjrr You will enjoy it very much I am sure!! The name of the stamp is Forever Rose. There is a direct link up in the info box.

  • i really wanted to practice doing skin tutorial

  • So you basically use the OMS to just blend colors? Are you able to go over the color after you have placed down the OMS?

  • @Supermason3000 You sure can. If you notice that is what I did on her cheeks. You can also still do traditional burnishing on top of it also. It dries very quick.

  • Ahh I use regular copy paper cus I draw so I don't think I could use the spirits on that XD I use the white prisma to blend because I dint have the colorless blender yet :/ great tutorial!!

  • @StJimmysPain Got to love the white prisma. I envy you with your drawing skills. I've been practicing and getting a little better but still no where near where I would like to be =)

  • can i found that in michaels stores?? im from vegas...!!!

  • @sinchos100 yep. It's available at Michaels (that's where I got mine) under the product name Mona Lisa Ordorless Paint Thinner. Or at least I hope they carry it nationwide. It's in the fine arts section at mine. I hope that helps

  • that its water??

  • @sinchos100 It is Ordorless Mineral Spirits also know by various other names such as white spirits, odorless turpentine and brand names like Gamsol.

  • thank you so much

I learned a lot with this video

but I have one question: What kind of paper did you use?

  • @animefreak7918 I am so glad to hear that!! I use Neenah Classic Crest Super Smooth in Solar White. (cardstock weight)

Thanks so much for your kind words : )

  • @dlc8405 thank you. I'm planning on getting colored pencils but I'm not sure if I should Prismacolor or Faber-Castell. I see that Prismacolor is a good brand, but I'm planning on getting one of each to make sure. But I guess if I asked you, you would prefer Prismacolor, but can you tell me why?

  • @animefreak7918 I like how soft the leads are and how easy they are to blend. I think you are on the right track by buying a couple of each and seeing which you prefer. Something to also consider though is that Prismacolor pencils are not lightfast. I use them mostly for cardmaking so that isn't a problem but would be a consideration for original artwork : )

  • @dlc8405 sorry, but I'm a little new to this, but what would "lightfast" mean?

  • @animefreak7918 Will fade over time when exposed to ultra violet light.

  • @dlc8405 thank you so much.

but how long do u think it would take to fade? and why would it be a difference if it was used for cardmaking and with original work? I'm planning to color anime/ manga (which would be people). so do you think that would effect it?

sorry for the bother, and thank you again

  • @animefreak7918 My cards are not in the sun and I am sure they will be fine for a very long time. As far as time frames go, I really have no idea. I think it depends on their exposure to light. It is something you will have to decide if you want your drawings to last for generations : )

  • @dlc8405 oh okay. but i have read about this brand and all say that it's light-resistant. wouldn't that mean the same thing?

  • @animefreak7918 I just saw that the new pencils ARE lightfast so that is very cool! My set is a little older and isn't.

  • @dlc8405 oh yay!!! thank you SOOOOO much for your help! :)

  • Great tutorial! Thanks!!!!

  • You are an awesome teacher! thank you so much!

  • @ animehammy, yes you can get them at Michael : )

  • This helps alot! The art teacher tells me that I'm using the color pencils wrong and that I need to add ALOT of layers! I don't think you did that.

And can I buy those blending pencils at Michaels?

  • Great tutorial, thanks for sharing.
