  • who is the hunter too squeamish to eat there kill. plus by your talk its in brain and upper spinal cord. i didnt know thats the only part homeless could eat. u could only catch mad cow by eating brain

  • Thats because you "mad brain" cannot find it. I find so many of them when I google "Mad deer disease and hunting".

Yes of course its easy to "give" something you don't want isn't it?

  • they killed 100,000 deer in Maryland alone for "sports" just this past season and all this time I thought 'hunting' was about "reducing" population.. DUH! simple math would state hhmmm about

     100,000 less deer..

  • Just last year they were "celebrating "their thousands of slaughter and then again? How is that possible unless its deliberate!

  • For years state agencies have been encouraging the killing of males over females. This is what you do if you want to keep the population trending upward. Deer aren't monogamous so keeping a mostly-female population means more potential births.

Not that i think the deer populations need regulating.

  • You are absolutely right. Not only for the trophy but for more females to give birth to twins and triplet. No one wants the doe to be killed but if they were going to kill they should do it right and be done with not this year after year "overpopulation" which caused deer vehicle accident.

  • DNR should be held responsible for Deer vehicle accident injuries and death as well as any humans at the pantries who have died, got sick or will die from disease that is similar to Alzheimer for prions will mimic it.

  • hey if i could kill does were i am i would cause they probably taste better. plus i try not to shoot the largest deer possible i shoot it if its leagle to shoot the little ones taste better anyway.

  • Well don't lose sleep over it D.C...

I love that statement..We know most don't eat their deer...Very funny, you sound so stupid it's pathetic.. If indeed all these so called killers are out there just to kill, why would they bother to take it to the pantries?? all you have to do is buy another license.. let it rot in the woods. but that doesn't happen does it? They touch it with their dirty hands...ha-ha.. they always advise wearing gloves for any meat handling genious..

  • You make no sense whatsoever and have nothing factual to prove your point so you use absurdity.

What a waste of my time

  • What do you mean "so called killers"?. They are killers. Their nazi's.

  • Just imagine what would happened if they did not have a place to dump the carcass of the deer? they killed 100,000 deer in Maryland alone for "sports" just this past season and all this time I thought 'hunting' was about "reducing" population.

  • One time I was looking at the hunter for hungry website and I was reading about fund being low so they could dump the carcass to the pantires (processing fee) . Hunters were upset because could not buy the amount of tags if the dumping ground (hunters for hungry) was not available. That is why its so so important that all this mad deer disease does not leak out to the public or the pantries would not want them anymore. Then what? DNR cannot sell blood license to slaughter innocent sentient .

  • The problem is that there is already a higher than the general population average of mentall health issues amongs hunters. Mad deer disease will make them all stark raving bonkers!

  • They don't have to worry because they do not eat the carcass the pantries does. You think 'hunters' want to get sick and die? Death is reserved for pantries and wildlife.

  • Hunters also do this with the fowl they shoot. Many of whom spend a lot of time in marshes eating shiny lead shot from previous years shootings. The lead contamination tends to be high with these birds, so the hunting lobby tries to look like humanitarians by donating them to food banks. Meanwhile state agencies try to avoid testing them for lead.

  • Yeah, that was true....about twenty-five years ago. Non-toxic shot laws have been in place that long. Yes, you idiot. Do your research from somewhere besides PETA. You guys are so far from relity it's dangerous. You need to share a large padded cell.

  • Ok, this is nothing but lies and spam unless I see a link to a valid study. Like a publish medical paper, not some online newspaper blog. Let's see it.......

  • Did you check the link to the right of the video? I guess not

  • Well, actually I did. It is nothing more than an unvalidated online newspaper article. Show me something valid.

  • Its talks about science and lab workers having to wear gloves and shield on their face to work on the diseased carcass. What more "valid facts" do you want? LOL

  • I will be back to post more information later.

  • Think about this. The reason why wildlife Agencies keep hush hush about mad deer disease is that they need to keep the public reasured that diseases are not in the deer carcass if it is pantries wont take them right? And we know that most 'hunters' do not eat the carcass that is why "hunters for hungry" conveniently exist. If they stop taking meat because of mad deer outbreaks there be no more places to dump the bodies and if you dont have that DNR/Wildlife Agencies wont be able to sell license.

  • "Hunters for Hungry" lets 'hunters' kill more animals for "sports" because now they have a place to dump the bodies after they are done destroying them. They "give" not because they "care" but they "give" out of convenience for themselves.

  • They could care less for the hungry if they did they would more careful not give carcass that supposadly can have mad deer disease prions, pesticides and even lead. The wildlife killers know its not USDA inspected but they need a place to dump the body after their "thrill kill". You know what real work is? Salavaging wasted food pasta, grains and veggie which is healthy and can feed a whole of people without the diseases. You want to be REAL charitable do that instead. Otherwise you are fake.

  • 'hunters' also touch these carcass with their dirty hands (god knows where its been) and we do not know how long its been dead for. Even if I was a flesh eater the though makes me want to vomit.

  • I don't know if you realize this, but you are talking to yourself!

  • Leaving comments about wasted food in America is not "talking to myself" its stating facts about what we have to do to really feed world hunger and salvage perfectly good food that are being thrown away, You people just kill for "fun" and "hunter for hungry" is a convenience to you and to benefit your damn self not for the hungry people.

  • This is pure propaganda here is the proof "which do not appear to be transmissible to people." This a scare tactic being used against hunters. The so called experts are not sure if prion have been around forever and will never cause a problem in humans. Do you have ANY proof that someone has prion in them from eating deer? NO. My point is made in reality.

  • which "do not apear" but if you read more information you will see that they are unsure and are afraid to scare people and of course 'hunting' org do not want the public to know that mad deer diseases are out there because then the excuses of "eating meat" will not fly and you will not be able to dump it to "hunters for hungry". Some of the artilce came from your own 'hunting' site . None of the article is AR. Read the video information and profile information. scary stuff.

  • Isn't it amazing how wildlife killers pretend that mad deer disease does not exist and its "not dangerous" yet we mention about deer birth control which has been stated that its safe from the wildlife contraception expert but still insist its "dangerous". Like 'hunters' do with the bible its just pick and choose what ever favors their agenda.

  • Food that could have gone to millions

According to the US Department of Agriculture, up to one-fifth of America's food goes to waste each year, with an estimated 130 pounds of food per person ending up in landfills. The annual value of this lost food is estimated at around $31 billion But the real story is that roughly 49 million people could have been fed by those lost resources. (For your persona jihad against wastage, see A Citizen's Guide to Food Recovery)

  • Fresh fruits and vegetables, fluid milk, grain products, and sweeteners (mostly sugar and high-fructose corn syrup) accounted for two-thirds of the losses. 16 billion pounds of milk and 14 billion pounds of grain products are also included in this loss

  • -U.S.-Massive Food Waste & Hunger Side by Side by Haider Rizvi

-According to a 1997 study by US Department of Agriculture's Economic Research Service (ERS) entitled "Estimating and Addressing America's Food Losses", about 96 billion pounds of food, or more than a quarter of the 356 billion pounds of edible food available for human consumption in the United States, was lost to human use by food retailers, consumers, and foodservice establishments in 1995.

  • Nationwide, Jones says, household food waste alone adds up to $43 billion, making it a serious economic problem.

    - Official surveys indicate that every year more than 350 billion pounds of edible food is available for human consumption in the United States. Of that total, nearly 100 billion pounds - including fresh vegetables, fruits, milk, and grain products - are lost to waste by retailers, restaurants, and consumers.

  • Fifteen percent of that includes products still within their expiration date but never opened. Timothy Jones, an anthropologist at the UA Bureau of Applied Research in Anthropology who led the study, estimates an average family of four currently tosses out $590 per year, just in meat, fruits, vegetables and grain products.

  • Wasted food in America

-According to Americas Second Harvest, over 41 billion pounds of food have been wasted this year.

-According to a 2004 study from the University of Arizona (UA) in Tucson, on average, American households waste 14 percent of their food purchases.

  • Statistics on poverty &

    food wastage in America

This is despite abundance of food resources. Almost 100 billion pounds of food is wasted in America each year. 700 million hungry human beings in different parts of the world would have gladly accepted this food.

Here are some statistics on the nature of poverty and the waste of food and money in America.

  • Why do 'hunters' think its so "nobel" to dump the carcass when we have so much wasted food in America. Here is some fact about wasted food and if you want to do something nobel make it a mission to salvage wasted food and help make meals for the hungry not just to kill for "fun" and need a place to put to body because you know its illegal to dump in the forest or rivers like some do.
