@kryptonitefan999 It's for the real games... and it doesn't matter what system you use. I'm not 100% sure if it works the same on emulators... but you can try.
@DrDimentio oh that's fine cuz I play emerald on the real gba. So thx for telling me. Now i can finally get some cool shiny's. Btw is there a video that shows that you really can find the shiny's in wild?
So i cnt do any of this if i dnt have one shiny? does this mean that in order to get shinies i need to first get one by luck? Im using pokemon emerald btw and im trying to get my first shiny as a shiny rayquaza
@superxyzpower ok if you REALLY want a shiny rayquaza, what you need to do is save right outside of him and battle him, if not shiny, soft reset (L+R+A+B+Start+Select at the same time) which will restart the game, repeat. This can take weeks of spamming and its called shiny hunting. GL!
@picozzis23 bueno yo tengo un blaziken shiny lo consegui por metodo de soft reset en esmeralda como rayos ahora consigo el secret id ?????? se debe de conoser necesariamente su max ivs ?????
@DrDimentio I think he's saying something along the lines of "Good I have a shiny blaziken that I got by soft resetting in emerald like... lightning?(I assume that means the flash of light and the stars swirling around the pokemon) Now can I get the secret id? In order to know, do the ivs need to be max?
Rough translation xD 4 years of spanish... hope this helps xD
@pokemaestro100 Yes, you can get your Secret ID for your Emerald game... it doesn't matter what IVs the shiny has, as long as you know exactly what the IVs are (so you check when the shiny is at level 100).
I got two shinies in my SS already (from accidental random encounters)
Do I need to level them to 100 first to get the EXACT Iv's?? I've tried putting their stats into the calculator but it returns data that is not accurate enough.
I did this before and now I forgot again! I remembered back in 2010 my Secret ID by watching your video and calculating now I have to redo it because I have been studying too much for school that now I forgotten completely about this.
@ACDCFan15Swe It depends; if you spent almost the entire time in Pokemon encountering catchable Pokemon that could be potentially be shiny, then yes it would be unlucky. Also, I made clear in the video description and annotations that you can find 4 to 8 Poke Radar shinies and use them to figure out the SID instead.
Hmm...you know how your 4th number began with a 0? I don't think it's possible to put a 0 before a 1 on in the calculator, so would it affect my SID if I hit 0...but no 0 actually shows up in the first slot, and then hit 1 (being the second number)?
@StarCrossedPokemon Any zeros in front of a number are usually meaningless (e.g. 0001 is the same as 1), but in this case, ignore any zeros that come before the first 1. If your Secret ID result is less than 5 digits, add enough zeros at the front to make it 5 digits long.
I've found out that Ruby/Sapphire work just like Emerald if they have a dry internal battery. Would I then be able to find my Sapphire's SID using this method?
@XxstoopidmonkayxX If you're completely sure the RNG works the same with a dry battery, then I suppose you could do that. Finding and using the SID for Ruby/Sapphire is the same as for Emerald, I just didn't suggest it because it doesn't work under normal conditions.
@DrDimentio Yea, I've been going around asking and reading about how a dry internal battery in either game ends up working just like Emerald's RNG. But, ok. Thanks.
i am in a serious doubt right now.i have caught two shinies within my diamond(obtained randomly),viz.bibarel and octillery(latter caught earlier).i obtained my SID using IVs of both of them, but i am getting different answers.1st(by bibarel)-04400,2nd (by octillery)-07016.can you tell me which one is right or any method by which i'll come to know the same?
@victini21 Did you find those IDs using RNG Reporter's "IV to PID" function which also generates your Secret ID instantly? That's a better method than the latter half of this video, which is why I mentioned it in an annotation.
@MrShinySoft The reason I only said Emerlad, and not Ruby/Sapphire, is that you can't do the RNG-abuse things in them like you can for Emerald. So even if you get your Secret ID it won't be any use in Sapphire.
@ryan129173 Well, my video assumed people knew why they wanted to know their Secret ID - the links in the video description include RNG Reporter, the program you need to know it for. That lets you RNG-abuse as many shinies as you want; and they can have near-flawless IVs if you do a little bit of work.
@dialgapalkiamew1 No, because cheats mess with the code and don't leave any way of tracing the Secret ID. Also, that would kind of defeat the purpose of this video's method, which is to get unlimited shinies without using any cheats at all.

@DrDimentio so i have a shiny golduck i found completely out of coinsidence.....i haven't touched it and put it in the box as soon as i caught it.What evs does it have? All 0?how do i find out what ivs it has.........
@Streetking412 Yes, it has 0 EVs if it hasn't gained any experience or levels. You use an IV Calculator to find them out, as said in the video... but don't do that until the Pokemon is at level 100 or close, because you need exact IVs, which it can't figure out at lower levels.
"@ziprider255 In Emerald you can't manipulate your ID/SID directly, so you will have to find a shiny first to get the SID." got a few question here. SID is fixed in a cartiage or reset we play a new game? If it reset then how do we get a shiny starter when that is the first pokemon we can have.
@killerpoh1 Getting a shiny starter in Emerald is relatively easy if you get a low shiny frame - I haven't tried it myself, but people probably do around 200 resets for the starter, then start a new file and do 200 resets on that one, and so on until a shiny appears. You get a new SID along with each new ID from starting a new file.
@DrDimentio So after each reset should i like use a timer and like let it pass few sec each time(longer each time) or just each time try the faster way(i mean right after i reset just press A infront of the bag?
What makes up the Secret ID? If it depends on what the Trainer ID is, then is there some kind of calculator? I want to find my SID so I can get Shiny Rayquaza (Emerald), but I don't have an AR or a shiny Pokemon to begin with :(
@ziprider255 In Emerald you can't manipulate your ID/SID directly, so you will have to find a shiny first to get the SID. In the 4th gen games the ID and SID are created by a random number generator at the moment you first enter the game world on your new file.
@2QsharkQ2 Well, as I wrote in an annotation in the video, the RNG Reporter program can find your Secret ID based on the shiny's IVs, without having to find out what method it is. It skips that step that was in the video, because I made this ages ago.
@athiaries It doesn't work; RNG Reporter's feature that works with the same method as this video, says it's not compatible with 5th generation games. The only way to find your Secret ID in B/W is to know the exact date, hour and minute you first created your save file, then use the 'Pandora's Box' feature of RNG Reporter.
@DannyL517 I've been asked that so many times, so the answer is in the FAQ section of the video description: You can't use the same method shown in this video, but you can treat it as a Poke Radar shiny, but for that you'll need a lot of Rare Candies (60+)... you got that many?
Thank you so much for that, and we all say we wont need maths when we leave school. Three days i have tried to figure this out and you made it so simple so thank you.
@JamJamJaames You're welcome, and as weird as this might seem, I failed maths in my last year of high school. I'm glad this helped you, thanks for the nice comment.
@nicxtrem21 Yeah, it must be at level 100... if you have enough Rare Candies, use them. If you train it without them, make sure you keep track of exactly what EVs it gains. Then check its IVs at level 100, using Serebii's IV Calculator.
@nicxtrem21 No, you don't *need* Rare Candy, that just makes it easier/quicker. EV training is a very basic concept, but if you're not familiar with it then I think you'll find this video's purpose too complicated.
@DrDimentio I did but there were a huge range of possible IV's so I had to try almost all the combinations (REALLY TEDIOUS) until I got it, but I did the tapping process incorrectly. I'm gonna use the "Chain to SID" to find my HG SID using Red Gyarados. However, I'm still gonna get that shiny Bagon!!!!!! =D
@Pouleeeeet The video's title says "All 4th Gen Games". The RNG of the 5th-gen games hasn't been figured out yet, and I'll make a whole new video if that ever happens.
@ebircsus Yep, Smogon is back... and if you have annotations on you would've seen my note that you don't need that IV to PID link anymore; RNG Reporter makes the later half of the video redundant because of its own IVs to PID feature which instantly finds your Secret ID from that.
@SoulsAdventures First of all, you can calculate the shiny's IVs by getting it to level 100 either with Rare Candies (best method) or by battling, but only if you take note of its exact Effort Values gained. Then put its level 100 stats into Serebii's IV Calculator. I already said in the video, the RNG is what determines every Pokemon that appears in the game; including whether it will be shiny or not.
@SoulsAdventures Um... didn't you fill in the spaces for all 6 of your shiny Pokemon's IVs? You have to do that as well as selecting the shiny's nature and your normal ID. Remember you can't find the exact IVs unless it's at level 100.
If you have wi-fi you can find out your SSID without a shiny, without action replay. Its so easy and I am not even jokin. Get a program called ir-gts. Run in python 2.7.
Change your DNS to whatever python says and then deposit a pokemon into the gts. Its files will be uploaded to your pc including its stats. you can find out IVS EVs and SID among more. Good luck every1 x
@dsredman Not for that game until you find a shiny in it... but with Emerald, you're better off restarting your file until you get one with an early shiny frame.
@Hugt1 I'm fairly sure still find the Secret ID the same way, *but* there's no point yet since the RNG abuse for the 5th generation is currently very complicated, and hasn't been completely worked out.
@Pouleeeeet IVs never change; and using Rare Candies is a good idea because then you don't have to take note of any Effort Values, since it won't get any without battling.
@eychff The RNG in B/W hasn't been properly figured out yet, so there's no point knowing your Secret ID in the new games yet. Also, I don't know if this video's method will apply to the 5th gen.
what do i do when my SID comes out as 4 digits? i am 99% certain i calculated it right, do i leave it as it is or do i add a zero to the front or end of it or something else? would really appreciate some help.
@swkimdanny I never said you need a Poke Radar shiny - that's an optional method if you don't have any 1 in 8192 chance shinies in D/P/Platinum. And yes, you're right about not being able to get a shiny starter from this, sadly.
Thank you, Dr. Dimentio. I watched this video a year-and-a-half ago, and almost immediately after caught my first shiny in Platinum, Staravia (I showed it to my friend, and he told me to use a master ball... he would have whirlwinded me!)
I've lost Platinum twice since, and was ecstatic both times I found it. Platinum is my new way of doing favors for people, and it's helped by milestones in a casual competition.
So, thank you! I've got about nine shiny requests for over the weekend. Busy busy
@Ganman33 Wow, you were lucky to have a clever friend like that... I'd probably have got Whirlwinded! You're welcome, I'm glad I helped one grateful person!
ok i really need someone to answer this. i need to know if i can use a legit shiny if it was givin thruough mystery gift. such as the pichu from gamestop of the three legendary dogs. can i use those to fine a secret id?
@Luxray27 Complicated? This... is... POKEMON! Seriously, the benefit of this is you can get flawless shinies which are ideal for competitive battling. If you don't play. Please realise you'll be spending possibly months for a potentially crap shiny when you could get flawless ones in less than an hour...
can you only do this on Emulators or is this also for the Real game on the gba sp?

@athiaries Not as far as I'm aware, but I'll test it on my White since I found 2 random shinies in it so far.
DrDimentio 9 months ago
@DrDimentio Ok. If it works can you put it in the box description for us pokemon fanatics? Thanks a lot.
athiaries 9 months ago
@athiaries It doesn't work; RNG Reporter's feature that works with the same method as this video, says it's not compatible with 5th generation games. The only way to find your Secret ID in B/W is to know the exact date, hour and minute you first created your save file, then use the 'Pandora's Box' feature of RNG Reporter.
DrDimentio 9 months ago
@DrDimentio ok thank you a lot :).
athiaries 9 months ago
Will the calculation of your secret ID work with the Shiny Gyardos found within the lake of rage on Pokemon Soulsilver ?
DannyL517 9 months ago
@DannyL517 I've been asked that so many times, so the answer is in the FAQ section of the video description: You can't use the same method shown in this video, but you can treat it as a Poke Radar shiny, but for that you'll need a lot of Rare Candies (60+)... you got that many?
DrDimentio 9 months ago
Thank you so much for that, and we all say we wont need maths when we leave school. Three days i have tried to figure this out and you made it so simple so thank you.
JamJamJaames 9 months ago
@JamJamJaames You're welcome, and as weird as this might seem, I failed maths in my last year of high school. I'm glad this helped you, thanks for the nice comment.

I got a shiny golduck and i didnt leveled him once, what do I do to find his IVs? i dotn understand...does he have to be level 100 absolutly??
nicxtrem21 9 months ago
@nicxtrem21 Yeah, it must be at level 100... if you have enough Rare Candies, use them. If you train it without them, make sure you keep track of exactly what EVs it gains. Then check its IVs at level 100, using Serebii's IV Calculator.
DrDimentio 9 months ago
@DrDimentio only with rare candy? :OOOO
what willl be the utility of kepping track of the EV? i dont see what to do there :( is there a video on that?
nicxtrem21 9 months ago
@nicxtrem21 No, you don't *need* Rare Candy, that just makes it easier/quicker. EV training is a very basic concept, but if you're not familiar with it then I think you'll find this video's purpose too complicated.
DrDimentio 9 months ago
@DrDimentio Yeah actually :(, but i dont giive up yet lol
nicxtrem21 9 months ago
@nicxtrem21 you can go into a lv. 100 wifi battle with it, that helps alot :)
alexworier 9 months ago
@alexworier no wifi here :(
nicxtrem21 9 months ago
@drdimentio but it says on pokegen I need to put my secret id
The1boyz 10 months ago
@The1boyz I've never heard of Pokegen. I've only ever needed and used RNG Reporter.

TVsmasher66 10 months ago
@TVsmasher66 I'm glad you liked my choice of music, lol
DrDimentio 10 months ago
@DrDimentio Yeah! :D
TVsmasher66 10 months ago
@DrDimentio I did but there were a huge range of possible IV's so I had to try almost all the combinations (REALLY TEDIOUS) until I got it, but I did the tapping process incorrectly. I'm gonna use the "Chain to SID" to find my HG SID using Red Gyarados. However, I'm still gonna get that shiny Bagon!!!!!! =D
SoulsAdventures 10 months ago
@SoulsAdventures That's exactly why I said to get the shiny to level 100, in my other comment and in the video. Good luck with the shinies though!
DrDimentio 10 months ago
@DrDimentio I found a shiny Gligar on pokemon Black....Then I found the pokemon's IV
But the ''IVs to SID''' function Rng Reporter gives me no SID.
Pouleeeeet 10 months ago
@Pouleeeeet The video's title says "All 4th Gen Games". The RNG of the 5th-gen games hasn't been figured out yet, and I'll make a whole new video if that ever happens.
DrDimentio 10 months ago
@DrDimentio IVs to PID... sorry
Pouleeeeet 10 months ago
@ebircsus Yep, Smogon is back... and if you have annotations on you would've seen my note that you don't need that IV to PID link anymore; RNG Reporter makes the later half of the video redundant because of its own IVs to PID feature which instantly finds your Secret ID from that.
DrDimentio 10 months ago
@DrDimentio could you please explain what RNG does? I'm confused here :S
could you also tell me how to get IV'S?
SoulsAdventures 10 months ago
@SoulsAdventures First of all, you can calculate the shiny's IVs by getting it to level 100 either with Rare Candies (best method) or by battling, but only if you take note of its exact Effort Values gained. Then put its level 100 stats into Serebii's IV Calculator. I already said in the video, the RNG is what determines every Pokemon that appears in the game; including whether it will be shiny or not.
DrDimentio 10 months ago
@DrDimentio I've got RNG and using the "IV to PID" calculator, I type my ID, but when i push Find it won't tell me the PID. What can I do?
SoulsAdventures 10 months ago
@SoulsAdventures Um... didn't you fill in the spaces for all 6 of your shiny Pokemon's IVs? You have to do that as well as selecting the shiny's nature and your normal ID. Remember you can't find the exact IVs unless it's at level 100.
DrDimentio 10 months ago
smogon and metalkid's sites down for anyone else? they both worked fine last week.
goatboy2000 10 months ago
@goatboy2000 Smogon has been down for quite a while now... I'm concerned, but hopefully it means they're updating it for Black and White.
DrDimentio 10 months ago
If you have wi-fi you can find out your SSID without a shiny, without action replay. Its so easy and I am not even jokin. Get a program called ir-gts. Run in python 2.7.
Change your DNS to whatever python says and then deposit a pokemon into the gts. Its files will be uploaded to your pc including its stats. you can find out IVS EVs and SID among more. Good luck every1 x

I bred a shiny charizard. Can I use it for dertermining my SID?
southparkroxyosox 10 months ago
@southparkroxyosox Nah, in the video I said 'non-bred, non-chained' shiny. It can't be used to find your Secret ID.
DrDimentio 10 months ago
Hi, I have a question please!
I dont have any shiny in my emerald version, so i can't have my SECRET ID?
dsredman 10 months ago
@dsredman Not for that game until you find a shiny in it... but with Emerald, you're better off restarting your file until you get one with an early shiny frame.
DrDimentio 10 months ago
i don't understand anything about this video .please help me, what's my sid in emerald my id number(trainer card) is 41292
Gierize 10 months ago
What about with black and white?
Hugt1 10 months ago
@Hugt1 I'm fairly sure still find the Secret ID the same way, *but* there's no point yet since the RNG abuse for the 5th generation is currently very complicated, and hasn't been completely worked out.
DrDimentio 10 months ago
I have a question
I have a Shiny Unown (LVL 5, never Used) :D
If I use my rare candys to level him up, Is it going to change something on the IV?
Pouleeeeet 10 months ago
@Pouleeeeet IVs never change; and using Rare Candies is a good idea because then you don't have to take note of any Effort Values, since it won't get any without battling.
DrDimentio 10 months ago
@Pouleeeeet you can also take it into battle with lv 100 only and find it out that way
drulli6 10 months ago
does the shiny red gyardos from hg/ss work, what about shiny raikou entei and suicine?
nubstars 10 months ago
@nubstars No.
DrDimentio 10 months ago
This method is great, but for people who don't have the patience to catch a shiny they can just use Pokecheck. (Pokecheck . Kraftpaper . Org
rileduphunt 11 months ago
@rileduphunt I have no idea what that is... but the point of this is not having to hack the game at all.
DrDimentio 11 months ago
Interesting but does this work if i hatch a shiny with the method of of breeding with a Pokemon from another country
CleverProfileName 11 months ago
@CleverProfileName Nah, I said in the video it must be a non-bred shiny... sorry to disappoint.
DrDimentio 11 months ago
will b/w work here
eychff 11 months ago
@eychff The RNG in B/W hasn't been properly figured out yet, so there's no point knowing your Secret ID in the new games yet. Also, I don't know if this video's method will apply to the 5th gen.
DrDimentio 11 months ago
i don't understund in emerald please explain me
LeafGreenHD 11 months ago
Lucky me, all my shinies aren't chained. xD

@swkimdanny Yes, I'm glad you paid attention and told that other guy what to do, thanks.
DrDimentio 11 months ago
what do i do when my SID comes out as 4 digits? i am 99% certain i calculated it right, do i leave it as it is or do i add a zero to the front or end of it or something else? would really appreciate some help.
jasonandersonx 11 months ago
@swkimdanny You're welcome, and expect some epic Black and White videos soon!
DrDimentio 11 months ago
@swkimdanny I never said you need a Poke Radar shiny - that's an optional method if you don't have any 1 in 8192 chance shinies in D/P/Platinum. And yes, you're right about not being able to get a shiny starter from this, sadly.
DrDimentio 11 months ago
i dont get this at all can u make like a tutorial or something showing us how to do it
tailsmilesprower1000 1 year ago
@tailsmilesprower1000 This *is* the tutorial showing you how to do it. It's only natural that a few people won't get it.

Busy busy
Ganman33 1 year ago
@Ganman33 Wow, you were lucky to have a clever friend like that... I'd probably have got Whirlwinded! You're welcome, I'm glad I helped one grateful person!
DrDimentio 1 year ago
@DrDimentio Yeah tested for SID worked guess you aren't a troll. Which one is for HH/SS on RNG anyway.
MrJackquinton 11 months ago
ok i really need someone to answer this. i need to know if i can use a legit shiny if it was givin thruough mystery gift. such as the pichu from gamestop of the three legendary dogs. can i use those to fine a secret id?
tLxInfamous 1 year ago
@tLxInfamous No, because 1. It has to be a shiny caught in your game, 2. If it's always shiny then there's no way to trace a SID from it.
DrDimentio 1 year ago
Will having the shiny pokemon evolve affect the outcome of the exact IV's?
Dire345 1 year ago
@Dire345 IVs never change...
DrDimentio 1 year ago
@DrDimentio
Oh ok, thanks. I wasn't really sure at first.

Luxray27 1 year ago
@Luxray27 Nah, you're a lot more intelligent than most of the YouTube community - thank goodness! Yeah, and I'm probably going to choose White.
DrDimentio 1 year ago
@DrDimentio nice, i have jap white i might get black when it comes in march
Luxray27 1 year ago
This is soo complicated............ I rather just hatch some eggs using masuda method and soft reset for the legendaries
Luxray27 1 year ago
@Luxray27 Complicated? This... is... POKEMON! Seriously, the benefit of this is you can get flawless shinies which are ideal for competitive battling. If you don't play. Please realise you'll be spending possibly months for a potentially crap shiny when you could get flawless ones in less than an hour...
