this song will foreveer haunt me. i had to play it for a recital at my college. played it well up to a point in which i messed up and forgot what to play and didnt think to play what was right in front me. had to skip a few measures of the entire song and play the ending. felt so terrible afterwards

I know that piece and have learned it. I can tell you it's not an easy piece to play at all. It took me about 5 months to play it well. He's only 10 and he can play it passably well! He's amazing and is a genius.

there is not enough mistakes to detract from the overall piece. it's 100% recognizable.

as for the tempo, who are you to set a tempo for all who play this piece? no one. people make music their own (to a certain extent). why do you think yo yo ma's interpretation is moderately slow, while Rostropovich's is very fast?

and he's around 10 here. anyway, he played a lot more difficult songs then this, it was probably highly requested.

@yurkler actually, i suspect the "mistakes" result from poor tabbing while transcribing the piece - this is cos sungha is consistent in playing the notes that deviate from the original.

i'm a longtime fan of sungha. have to say though, by baroque tastes, his rendition of the piece is kind of rubato-heavy...

@duhhh86, from my own experience, I think the kid struggle with the instrument that is bigger than his size (just look at the guitar's neck width and his hand, therefore he had to compensate with the delay (rubato intended) to give him time for fingers positioning ... speaking of Segovia's transcript, lots of fingers stretch!

First of all, I'm also Sungha's Big fan.

Since he's still young and lacks of experience, there's a lot more he needs to learn to be the best of the best, even though he's already an incredible guitarist.

Whenever, he thinks he's the best, that's when he won't be able to improve anymore. So, some constructive criticism wouldn't hurt. Atleast, you can tell how much people love him enough to spend their time writing it.

Hi Justme, if you go to his user page there is a bio and all the videos he has posted. At the top right corner of this page, next to the subscription part you will see the page his dad uses for this JWCFREE. This was posted when he was 11 and he has improved enormously. I think he has 5 or six of his own composistions about 3 arrangements and a lot of covers but you can see how he has progressed there.

I don't know why people don't like me comment, sunga is playing the piece incorrectly around 0.40 and other places, which is a fact. He is not playing the right notes. Listen to another version on youtube by a professional, if you doubt it. Still he is great talent, but he needs to pratice and hit the right strings like all others.

I really wish S. Jung would use a score instead of playing his own composition. Around 0.40 he plays his own notes, not Bach's composition. And there are several more mistakes, but I don't doubt he can learn the song correctly, he is a gerat talent.
