It's so weird watching this. I'm 43 years old and started drums at 13 yrs old with Neil Peart as my hero. I spent hours in my room day in and day out learning Rush songs. Here I am surfing the net and I stumble on this kid doing the exact same thing, and doing it 1000 times better than I did. WELL DONE!
yeah man you nailed it really nailed it hang in there like the way you keep your druns and practice space clean and zen like your playing good to hear peace
@vinchenzo96 I love the 15" A Customs Hats, they are a much deeper tone than say a pair of 13"s, not that there it any thing wrong with 13"s. I would like to get a smaller size. so I can change out for certain types of music. But The 15"s are solid. I use them with the DW 9000 HD hi-hat stand. I would Recommend them!!!
one thing though, take it as bad advice or good, but watch your triplets on ur ride there. kind of crushing them a bit. think about using ur wrist as well as the natural bounce of the stick. try and open them up. lot of warm ups helps me. once you can cleanly do a good paced dbl stroke roll on a pillow move to triplets wont have to so much rely on rebound... just pay attention to technique and youll get it! again, loved the cover! :)
Nicely done! You are ahead of where I was drumming wise at your age....you have a very good meter. I can't play with headphones on for some reason....drives me nuts! Playing along to music anyway - in the studio it's different! No idea why! Have you learned any rudiments yet? You look a little stiff still.....rudiments will really loosen you up and your fills will get much smoother and more fluid! My only "criticism" is your tightness - otherwise, great job!
@hyzeronhisrizer Thanks For the Compliment!!!! Also I am working on all the other things. But they don't happen overnight as you know. But I appreciate the constructive criticism, I can always learn more:)
@pmzq0123 Cool! Rudiments are the foundation of drumming - like scales to a pianist/guitarist etc....they opened the doors to my playing big time! I learned the 26 standard rudiments - very helpful for stick control, speed, endurance etc etc Truthfully, I probably only use 5 or 6 of them in my playing, but essential to learn them all! You are doing great...you have natural talent for the drums - keep at it and in a few years you should be damn good! (I keep trying....it's fun!)
@pmzq0123 I will need to get back to you about the online thing. I think the Ludwig Drum Method book is excellent..it has the 26 rudiments on the last page....I used that book - it is great! It was my only "formal drum education!" Self taught otherwise. Check out some Joe Morello videos on youtube - some of the vids have little "lessons" from his Drum Licks video - Joe was a fantastic drummer - a true legend!
Very good starting point! You missed a few little intricacies here and there, but at least you didn't ADD anything that didn't fit. Good job. Keep being ambitious.
@Pauliewanna Thanks for the comment!!!!! Also, I really appreciate your honesty about how I missed a few intricacies. That helps me improve on my mistakes so that they will not happen next time.
WOW....I have seen a lot of renditions of this video and I would have to say you are in the top 10. You have come a long way since your first video "Change by Candlebox". Keep up the good work kid....doing a great job!!
@Kma8731 Thanks for the positive comment. Yes, I feel that I have come a long way, but i still have a long road ahead of me!!!! Really I'm still at the base of the Mountain.
