only watched a handful of your videos and i definitely admire how you handle alot of the negative comments on here. Everyone's got an opinon until they get on the mat, while i agree this might not be the most technical or flashy move, it obviously works for you. Keep the videos coming, i especially liked the modified kimura. good stuff
I am a 2x all American, I have wrestling half my life and I feel that is one of the shittiest takedown videos I've ever seen! I learned my knee taps from terry&tom brands of Iowa. That would only work on a scrub and shame on him for trying to show a takedown incorrectly...search yt for wrestling undertook series..you will see it done properly..one of my favorite moves..just hate to see it bastardized like everything else out there.
@nativo155 pretty strong word brother but hell, I'm not an all 2x all american, and don't represent myself as a wrestling expert having only wrestled in high school and a bit on club team in college and the Marine Corps. Maybe I've only wrestled scrubs but it's worked for me til this point. YT is no replacement for a qualified instructor.
I got a question kind of not related to this video. I'm a HS wrestler right now and used to doing takedowns and slides with my shoes on. But when I went to go take my first No Gi class we were practicing takedowns and I was sliding on my bare feet like I'm used to. I ended up with a peeled skin blister on the top of my foot for sliding on the mat on my takedowns. Does it just take getting used to or should I do something about it?
@johnnyquest456 i used to have the same problem but it doesn't seem to be as much of an issue anymore due to all the scar tissue over the years. wish i had a good suggestion for you but i never found a way to avoid them without messing up my shots. ( i too wrestled in high schol)
i suppose it might work but then it wouldn't really be the knee tap take down anymore huh:) the tap help to prevent him from posting out or stepping away with that leg.
