  • Can't wait mine is on it's way, I'm soooo excited

  • GREAT

  • @DJPeteJames people like to complain

  • How good of a representation do you think this you-tube quality is? Did you use a decent AD converter? I'm in the market for a synth and you appear to have some skill with this machine, but I hear it lacking in the high end brilliance. Thanks for the nice demo! knob-tweaking : )

  • @QuaA the virus lacks no brilliance or low-end whatsoever. In fact, it is one of the greatest, hi-quality sounding synths I own

  • noise noise noise...

  • cool stuff man, thanks for the demo, I want to purchase one of these things

  • i have not found any utube video with a virus to even impress me ? so i wont buy one

  • @DJPeteJames prophet is definately a capable machine. Pretty insane if i do say so, I've been messing with it in my nearest guitar center:D

  • Nice vid. Can you suggest any good videos or books to learn sound design. I picked up a Access Virus a few months back but yet to get stuck in. I now playing around is the best way to learn but i love tutorials also.

  • @jigneish On the virus.info official site, in the "tutorials" section there is a VERY good pdf tutorial called "synthesizer programming english" (or spanish, if you wish).

  • very nice :)

  • @DJPeteJames because some people blame perfectly capable tools when the problem is really themselves :)

  • @DJPeteJames - Yes, I suppose you could, although you won't cure the fact that the sound smears if you drop the pitch. I really think analogs retain their punch and structure better if you lower the pitch. Not bashing the Virus though because it's great and reaches areas that vintage analogs couldn't dream of. My advice for a setup would be 2 VAs like a Nord or Virus or Waldorf and one analog mono - cash permitting!!

  • @Loshpot it depends on the analogue i have played a few that dont and some that do, i really am not sure it is an analogue vs digital though because there are some vsts that handle low end better than some analogues.

    peace

    Brian

  • @Loshpot argument though*

    sorry i just woke up.

  • Nice noise waves :P

  • @DJPeteJames - because the Virus sound is essentially wide stereo, whereas analog monos sound like they cut straight down the middle a bit more. Also, if you keep dropping the pitch in a Virus bass, it eventually becomes smeared and loses punch, whereas in an analog mono it retains its punch better. I happen to think that bass in the Virus is still very good though.

  • @Loshpot yes that is true but there are genres of music built off the back of digital and va synthesis that analogue synths struggle to cope with :) they both have their uses and both are incredible .....at the end of the day its the brain in control that is the most important part :) the synth is a tool. I have heard people getting sounds out of these synths that could have been made with free average soft synths .... but whatever :) as long as they are smiling who am i to judge

    Peace

    Brian

  • would the virus be great for making dubstep and tech house at all? plz get back to me ASAP!

    thanks!

  • @joeycarr333

    watch this!

    /watch?v=G50QRmgsimY

  • lol.. is there any way to render in realtime in fl studio? or else, i cannot use the virus in my projects..

  • Using the midi out in FL

  • tried it but it doesnt work.. hmmh

  • what do you mean?

  • ok so i added a midi out, and "connected" it to a patch on my virus..

so i put a midi file in the midi out, but when i click export as, and render.. the freeze warning comes from the virus.. and the result is in an audio file with some annoying noices..

  • what software are you running?

Have you tried just recording it out? by routing midi into it and audio out into another audio track in your daw.

how much midi are you trying to run through it?

  • wait ill try again, what do you want this for?

  • @TGP1994

Some heavy midi signal flow will make this synth sputter and glitch. I get this while triggering it with a monomachine, (more then 4 channels at once), into a multi patch. Basically, intense midi signal flow will make it choke, this could include a lot of points on a midi CC file

  • You need to mute the Virus TI's instance, and just have the audio file you recorded mixed down.

  • oh in fruity loops? haha no there isnt why does it really matter?

  • route all of your mixer channels to something else than the master bus, set up an edison in FX slot 1 of this "new" master channel, set it to record "on play", press record on edison, press play in FL's transport bar.

  • Yes you can use it in fl studio. It works just like a soft synth.

  • does this virus ti 2 good value for money (1600 euros)? is better than virus ti 1 or is the same ?

  • Does anyone know if I can run this through my DSI poly evolver if I buy the desk top? I rather spend half-ish insted of buying the whole keyboard. Thanx in advance

  • @Lemure333 Yes, you can, and my TI sits right atop my Poly Evolver. They make a very nice infernal duo ;)

  • @Barelinio Thanks!!! May I ask what is triggering this? Are you using a computer to get the sounds out by running a sequence or? Sorry bro, I have no desktops yet , just keyboard versions...thanks in advance and for uploading!!! Peace

  • i have one of these and a prophet 08.....i prefer the virus, it's easier to program

  • So there are presets on this machine when you buy it?

So i can play with it without a keyboard or computer?

Can you tell me about that a litle bit?

    Thank you in advance!

  • yes there are about 1000 presets on the machine and NO you need a keybaord or a sequenzer to play the sounds. you can also build easylie your own sounds. in the near future i will post a video how to create own sounds on a virus Ti.

    have a nice day

  • So u have to buy both the desktop and the synthesizer for virus TI? :s

cause im planning to buy the Virus TI Desktop? And my friend told me that i just had to connect the desktop to my computer? I use FL Studio and i hope it can connect to that

  • i wish my brain sounded like that..

  • too basic, didnt even touch the oscillators

  • what can an access virus ti2 do that a radias can't?

  • rock your socks off

  • lawl, i even gave that one a thumbs up.

I decides to go with the radias (R3) because of the HUGE price difference.. I was really digging the dark Virus, but when i looked at a bunch of user reviews, a lot of people actually compared the radias to other synths as being warmer.. but when compared to the Virus, oman fkkn the Virus has that darkk like nothing else.. maybe one day when I'm rich and famous I'll get a Virus lol.

  • sound ?????

  • get the ti, not the radias

  • can i connect my korg m3 with a ti polar and play virus sounds from m3 just to have more octaves?plz answer!!thanks.

  • im pretty sure that is possible

  • yes, send the midi from the m3 out to the polar in, mute the m3. very simple

  • Yes you should be able to us the korg as a controller.

  • the sound at the beginning sounds like the synth used in "Hooligans Never Surrender" by Don Diablo and the sound @ 1:20 sounds like "Grindin" by The Pitcher 10/5*

  • How much cost is this sintetehtsazor?

  • That made me so happy! I've been swithering on whether I should go for it and upgrade my Virus Classic to a TI2...this has definitely helped the case for. My poor, poor wallet. Thanks!

  • It the TI2 still using USB1?

If you are familiar, could you tell me how you think the sound compared to the Korg Radias?

I'm expecting comparison to be harsh, but how harsh..

  • What's the problem if it does have USB1? This is a synth not a sampler. It's all small MIDI data not audio data so there's no real need for hugh data bandwidth anyway.

  • Not strictly true - the USB streams audio into your DAW.

Dont worry too much about USB speeds - the reality is that the Virus sounds better when run through its analog outs. This is a fact of life for all synths that have the USB capability. If you want a warmer, richer sound....use the analog outs.

  • Access Virus it's a synth for electronic music, well better said "it's THE SYNTH for electronic music", if you like pianos and that stuff forget it.

I've head the Radias and it sounds like a soft synth.

Korg is the most overrated company in the world just because they've made an $8000 synth with a CD Recorder (WOW!). What will be the next, a $20000 synth with a cellphone or what?

Once you go Korg, you don't want more (more Korgs a mean)

  • Though you must give them credit for KP3 , mediocre effects with killer interface.

  • amazing

  • how much that cost and were u get tha beats

  • 1700 €uros and the beat is created by modulating a sound in the virus

  • @ChrisVanOz79 So Virus is a program? Can you have as many tracks as you want using Virus? Like you can with Soft Synths? What's the cpu usage like?

  • @Adeptmind No, the virus is a hardware synth. But you can control your parameters from within your DAW, you can even send audio to and from your Virus TI hardware. However, it doesn't work that good with Logic and another audio interface (logic seems to want ONE audio interface).

You can assign up to 16 midi channels to 16 sounds of a multi soundset, however I found it easier to use the TI as an audio source and multitrack. Uses up no CPU. One of the greatest Synths ever.

  • Hey, I have a question regarding the TI and TI2. I am using an M-Audio Firewire Solo Audio Interface and so my question is if I could use the Virus with it ? do I just need to plug it through USB ? I have Unbalnced and Balanced (I use my monitors for Balanced) and SPDIF ports in my soundcard, and XLR Phantom power, and a guitar input. do I need to pkug into SPDIF or anything other than usb ? and will it record my MIDI moves or just record as audio if it works ?

    Thanks alot in advance

  • Hey, i have a virus and is the only gear i use in my productions, you can run the virus through the USB and it will control all midi and audio for the virus, so all u really need to do is install the virus on to your computer and plug the USB in. hope that solves your question :D you could even use the Virus as your main soundcard for your set up, i do and it works much better than my EMU soundcard (Iknow M Audio are a better company though)

  • thank you so much for your comment :] I'm thinking of going for RME Fireface 400 anyways since I'll need for recording and good converters, or I could save for better monitors, what would you do ?

  • sorry for long long delay on a reply, personally, the virus is good enough for using as your soundcard, but at the end of the day the choice is yours, ive never had a problem using my virus as a soundcard. i would use the virus and get the better monitors :D but its what will work best for you that counts

  • i have the keyboard version for 6 days now!i really think the money was worth spend!amazing posibbilities!dont buy a synth without hearing first this one!as for the new ti i think that the ti1 sould do the trick..the thruth is though i enjoy the delays tha the new has!

  • hey, you can get all the new delays in the latest update for the Virus TI1 :D

  • guys guys you must realise something with the Virus family.

all the virus serier OSCs untill the C

and including, has much less high frequency content

Compared to Roland, Korg, and especially the Clavia Nord familiy

    synths oscillators.

The TI range has more OSC types

than the C, i own a Virus Classic

and for reference the TI is wayyyy

    more powerful and sounds sharper.

  • please do a proper demo of the TI2 please mate

  • you don't have to watch it

also, this synth is always proper

  • even though the new Ti2 is out, they also release a new Operating System update for the original Ti1 - 3.0.0 (there is now a higher one) this has added all the features the Ti2 also has, so the only thing you really miss out on from the Ti2 is the 25% more calculating power, it would be nice to have the Ti2 but i wont lose any sleep, my Ti1 is more than powerful enough still, the Virus Ti was easily my best musical purchase, once you get into it you wont want to use any other synth, i dont - SJR

  • How do you think the sound is, I mean I have heard alot of softplugs and they do sound fat nowadays. But are they still not as good as the real thing. I have a hard time hearing my Virus being better. But the new softsynths have lots of compression it sound, and supermany effects that kinda fool you that the sound is better. What's your opinion about soft vs Hard? If we don't take the extra bonus feeling of turning knobs into the comparison.

  • I have tried to once sell all hardware and go all software...but the problem with software is there is no upper limit to CPU power, so you can always get pauses, crashes, etc even with the best sound card.

hardware is a lot more reliable. that being said, i prefer roland vsynth, korg radias over the virus for a VA.

but if you want virus, i would get the spectralis2 instead, it sounds better because of REAL analog filterbank and great sequencer, synthesis types, etc.

  • Nice one, what did you pay for it? Looking forward to more movies showing it's capacity. I can sure hear that classic Virus sound in it.

  • it cost me 1699 Euros... if you buy the Ti 1 it will be a few Euros less now.

yea it sounds great. i used the Virus C before.

  • Yeah, I have the Virus C myself, the table version. How do you think it is different, is it alot better ? I mean Virus C is already a great synth, but I guess they have fatter presets that you have to tweak longer in your Virus C. Maybe easier to make fat sounds also?

  • the ti2 is better all the way. just because of more polyphony about 80 voices and more efx types and 25% faster than the ti1 and of course faster as the C =) the Ti (totaly integration) feature is the realy best thing. so you can use the Ti as a VST plugin but sound will all the time processed in the Ti. so no cpu power is lost.

    its a great synth!

  • Thank's for that info, I am really in a mood for buying something. I have to think if I will go full analog this time or maybe upgrade my C to this TI2. I love synths, haha, softplugs are not the same.

  • thats right! that was the reason why i (re)bought me a hardware synth :)

  • hi! you might consider the VirusTI1. Get your hands on the TI1 and program some sounds. If the DSP meter is not overloaded, then you don't need the extra 25% DSP power of the TI2. The sounds are compatible and the Virus Control 3.0 works on both.

  • one way to tell how good a soft synth sounds compared to a hardware synth is, strip all effects off both synths you want to compare, choose the same waveforms and then play around with both and see which has a nicer, thicker and more colourful sound. there are some great softsynths out there, but i still prefer the hands on feel and sound of hardware :D

  • I've used most VA's and softsynths...and without a doubt...the Virus is the best sounding of the lot. If you want warm, weighty, rich tones....and you need the flexibility of a VA....then the Virus is the only one which really cuts the mustard.

Save yourself alot of money and hassel and go straight for a Virus. I wasted time trying to like a Nord 2, 3, JP8000, AN1x, 25+ softsynths...and the Virus just blew them all away.

Dont take my word for it....

  • And what about Nords case and the Keys? Is it a joke or what? It looks like a $50 casio painted in red and grey.

Nowadays you can buy a new Access Virus Snow for only $1000 (I mean only because 10 years ago a shitty rompler with shitty pianos, shitty guitars and shitty brass doubled that price).
