As a guy who knows capoeira and snake fighting style I can honestly say that capoeira is just for show, whilst the snake is more deadly, but my body has been conditioned for attacking at strange angles so it seems easy for me :)
@avi30341 No, the key to win this fight is to be an actual martial artist. Capoeira uses too many unnecessary moves which gives way too many openings for a real fight.
@Sanquinity what the hell r u8 talking about?! lateef crowder is an acual martial artist, look for another videos of him and u will see,he is so talented in capoeira, this is just a movie, and ofcourse they must let the main character win,if ui watch the fight closely,u will see that lateef crowder was dodging his attacks easily, but then suddenly he stopped dodging them, and if u watch the movie u will see that there is no creativity, there is indeed good fights but that guy didnt rest a minute
@nana67676 Not a single fight in any modern movie is a 'good' fight. Any real martial artist can tell you that. Heck the way that capoeira guy moved even I could almost dodge him. (almost) He had so much flash in his movements and so much openings that a real martial artist could easily break through that.
watch?v=o2VwnBU1-iU Go watch that. That's how a capoeira martial artist would do in a REAL fight.
@Sanquinity r u saying that fights in modern movies arent good or u mean the modern martial artists?coz clearly lateef crowder is an excellent capoeira fighter,i saw other videos of him,and no offence the video u sent suck really bad.
@nana67676 the movie I sent was just meant to show how capoeira would do in a real fight. And I don't mean either. Movie fights are awesome, they just won't work in real martial arts fights. And modern fighters are very good, nothing wrong with them.
@Sanquinity u mean the hard moves that the capoeira fighter did?! well lateef crowder can do that too,but he wont be down so easily like that lame capoeira fighter,r u studying martial arts or what?!?
@Sanquinity my point is that lateef crowder is a great martial artist, thats my point, and i asked u coz u look interested in martial arts,so what r u studying?
i really think that Lateef can really fight in capoeira in real life situations..and the mestres of course...it goes beyond talent...its the real deal in the skill :)

is it me? or is it the same dude doing the capoeria in like every movie scene that involves a guy doing capoiera and the sad thing being.. he always loses/
@mehomboy As cool as it is, t doesn't seem like a very effective figting style. It uses so much energy and requires a lot of room that it doesn't even seem worth it to learn it for self defense.
@RE4gamerrrrrr actually. Capoeira has the some of the strongest strikes in the world and fastest. a full on roundhouse kick can deliver 1400lbs of force and move at 99 miles/per hour and every fighter can last for very long fights. and it doesn't need a lot of room if your skilled enough in it
@RE4gamerrrrrr capoeira is not only a fighting style, maybe there are better ones, but capoeira means a philosphy, a livestyle, a way to think and handle live... and for some people capoeira is the right way to do this =)
@keithelstone :D Yeah, not surprising. There's always a deeper meaning to any fighting style (or any other activity) than just what you see. All I was saying is that it's not usually going to be the wisest fighting style to be using in a fight. It takes a lot of stamina, coordination, flexibility, and spin-tolerance (resistance to dizziness) to be able to do Capoeira. Like, I don't know if it's a skill that you can keep using when you get into your 50's or whatever.
@MrSuperDougie1 I was looking at some Martial Arts on Youtube, and found this clip from a show called Fight Science. I Google the show, and he was in one of the episodes. It's called "Stealth Fighters".
@FraggingBard Ya, I just watched a movie called "Only the Strong" It's basically all Capoeria, and it is really good. I recommend that one. Oh, and if you like action with some comedy, watch "Operation Condor" I thought it was hilarious
i soooo love this video, it has awesome shots and great fighting choreography, both martial arts(capoeira and muay thai) are cool but i gotta say that capoeira is more amazing in my opinion
The Capoeira guy in actuality could have landed a TRULY serious blow to the other guy if he had kept his other foot on the ground during the rolê after his negativa in 1:09
