I live in Galway and the man speaks the truth but as he is not originally from the city, there are a few things that he said that aren't exactly true but it is a great city and held the volvo Ocean Race recently which made it even more popular and has attracted people from all around the world and kkdd4567 below is a liar, Americans always visit the city.
YOU are ignorant. You hate "yanks", as you say, but I'm sure you know no Americans and have never been there, but you feel the need to degrade people who appreciate your culture.
I HAVE LIVED in Galway all my life, and know more than my fair share of Americans. I think that merits the right to judge. And I base my opinions on fact, dickhead. Just yesterday (St.Patrick's Day) I had a yank tell me I was pronouncing Athenry wrong.
Fair enough, but in regionally unspecific dialect you are:
A one-upping cum gargler with a penchant for a culture you will never be able to understand through the gimmicks set out for you by the money hungry parasites which, unfortunately, inhabit my country.
It's what THEY do that makes us what you think we are, and accordingly in America it would be said that
Good video, but you have a few errors. First of all, it's not the ocean. That's Galway Bay. Secondly, he says that it was founded about 500 years ago, but St. Nicholas Collegiate Church was founded 700 years ago.
California native having beem to Galway 5 times in five years!! I am not college clad at the age of 35!! I simply fell in love with the city. Dublin has alot to offer however, Galway gives you a feel of "real life in Ireland". Visit Garveys and tell Garvey (Cathill) that "Bar"in Idaho gave you a tell.
hey, if i was a muslim, would i be accepted in galway? would ppl look at me weird? I'd luuuurve to go one day but im scared, please advise me :) Thanks :)
You would be accepted. Act right, get treated right! I love the guiness, I was so drunk, forgot to eat. So i went down the road and found some fish and chips. So hot and good, It saved my hammered but.
i love you galway!

I hope you know that all of Galway hates you, yanks. Learn to pronounce Gaeltacht. It's that kind of ignorant shit that pisses us off.
