My ancient crap PSU died recently. It was a 600W.... with only 22A on the +12V....

These "scan" companies skimp out on the most important rail (+12v) and put many AMPS on the +5 and the +3.3. They both had over 45A.... You will never use that much for a 600W... ever..

So it has potential 600W, but the Watt distripution among the rails are VERY BAD.

Corsair and OCz aren't the best. Corsair doesn't even make their own supplies, CWT, Flextronics and Seasonic do, and OCz doesn't even sell decent supplies.

Actually, the very best are Seasonic, but the others are a good choice too, like Corsair, Antec, CoolerMaster, Fortron, Thermaltake, Enermax, Be Quiet, etc etc...

Others are mostly CWT (Channel Well Technology).

Stealth Xtream 600W, started sparking when I flick the 1/0 switch after about 3 months, lasted one more month then completely died, no loud BANG, not even a switch spark now.

Very disappointed. Must say my el-cheapo (Sumvision 600W) one has lasted longer than this OCZ one.

Someone underneath probably is recomending Antec. Well... Smart Power 400 was dissapointment for me (mostly because it was built on one of the worst chinese capacitors - fuhhjyu. Personally i recomending Delta, FSP/Fortron, Chieftec (excluding GPS series), and Seasonic (only those in regular grey box with 8 or 12cm fan)
