  • Too bad. Everyone should know its not the humans cause it. That includes the fact that we are barely helping it and no matter how much we try it won't be enough anyways.

I might add that the "Global Warming" is just the sunspots on the sun acting up and Pollution doesn't reach the sun nor do our wastes. Not to mention that a Volcano does incomparable damage to the earth then any amount of human pollution.

Its basically just a lie. Actually, Environmentalism is a branch of Eugenics(Evil stuff).

  • Did not hear a thing about it in Australia???

  • welch widerliche Co2 "Giftgas" Lügen Propaganda

  • Hey, great video!

Check out our upcoming documentary about UK climate change activists. See behind the scenes of a few very well publicized protests, minus the media spin. We are nearing completion and we hope you get a chance to see the final product!

Peace and love, the Just Do It team x.

  • Diese armen, fehlgeleiteten Irren! CO2 ist die neue Weltreligion. Mit Umweltschutz und Wissenschaft hat das gar nix zu tun.

  • That is the way, we can shape the future of Mother Earth. You cannot trust the "official political leaders" any more. How could I trust a criminal like Putin, Kadyrow or Gaddaffi or Assad? And also the so "democratic " eaders are not a great deal better. They make deals with criminals and mass-murderers. The major discussion must be how we can change the parliamenary democratic system (which has not much future) The Suiss way? (direct democracy) Or the way of Bhutan???
  • wake up bedeutet, das wir die schafe also ihr!! die keine Ahnung haben und glauben es ist alles in Ordnung auf zu wecken.

  • I really dislike Avaaz for this climate Change bs. It's true we should get rid of polluting sources, become fully organic get rid of pharma drug companies & their influence in the water supply. The more people consume/purchase to create things to get "anti pollution across" the more the world becomes polluted. Google "solar maximum 24" global warming is also happening on other planets in our solar system. Time is tik tik tiking better END the false carbon tax propaganda! -that wont change earth.

  • @AscensionSeries Now obviously you haven't researched properly, or maybe its just because i'm 8 months ahead now. Fact ist, the sun hasn't been very active over the past few year. Its still not very active... Normally the average temperature on our planet fall during these cycles. Now, statistics show, that this isn't happening this time, although the sun supplys us with less energy, the average temperate is rising from year to year?!?! Proof enough?

  • Plus, a temperatur rise caused by the sun ( which clearly isn'thappening at the moment becaus the sun is still at its minimum of activitiy. Im not looking forwar to the maximum, because its expected to be even higher than usual due to this long period of low activite..) cannot be described as global warming, and such a rise wouldn't leat to major melt downs of the polar ice etc.

I hope i didn't misunderstand u, just wanted to make the facts conciernung our suns activity cleare.

  • @AscensionSeries I like this never heard it put this way. very true

  • i know it's hard to admit that all of the preaching you've done was for a false religion, but facts are facts. time to face them. we won't hold against you, the fact that you were duped. you were taken in by the hype. it happens. there are all kinds of doomsday prophesies and a lot of people fall for it. the fight against "the end of man kind", gives them meaning. nothing wrong with that. we all need meaning in our lives. most of us have family, work, school to live for. some have their cult.

  • @fieldzee09 it's really nothing to be ashamed of. your cult leaders didn't try to talk you into killing yourselves to save yourselves did they? quit exhaling? No? they do that sometimes. look at "heaven's gate" and "Jim jones". you guys got off easy. someone found these pesky emails before it went that far. come out of the "cult closet". we've known that you were "In the closet" all along. We won't hold it against you. Seriously! maybe a few rib pokes and grins, but nothing lasting

  • Man made global warming is a joke! the science was rigged to continue funding of the scientists. How could you climategate deniers still keep going back to the rigged science as an argument. they hid the decline! Newsflash- over 2000 emails came out in November. the fact that they were hacked doesn't make them nonexistant. wake up deniers!

  • Global warming is happening...!

of course, as anything there may be some scientific mistakes about the theory, but that global warming is happening is definitely a fact, and anyone who does deny it is because they are either afraid or lazy enough to change.

  • Problem is these climate activists are being mislead through their unquestioning belief in mainstream "science". It doesn't matter if Mars Saturan and Jupiter are warming, or if Earth was warmer 900 years ago. These are just "right wing, big oil beliefs", give me a break. Im all for activism but research a subject properly first instead of jumping on bandwagons of political thought. 30,000+ Scientists oppose Al Gore's "concensus" The climate is driven by the sun morons! World Government....

  • You obviously don't understand or deliberately ignore actual climate change science. Yes climate is driven by the sun but it is also driven by greenhouse gases. Climate scientists account for the major forcings in the models. The simple fact is that the models do not fit real life temperatures very well until the CO2 data is entered. If the sun were the only forcing driving climate at this point, the globe would have been cooling since the 1970's (when solar activity took a nosedive).

  • And you are also correct that some other planets are experiencing warming. Obviously you are simply parroting what a friend of a friend of some guy told you. If you BOTHERED to read the scientific literature about those warmings, you would find that the primary forcing in many ot the other planets is NOT THE SUN EITHER but another (and it varies for the different planets) natural forcing.

  • Then you would also learn that all these other planets spiked in temperature at approximately the same time. Now if not the Sun that gives heat, then what a compression of our solar system? the protective field around it is supposed to be shrinking, possible due to the galactic alignment. What else can cause all the planets to heat at the same time? too much space ship/ufo emissions? Published journals can be later edited or removed to suit political & financial agendas.

  • The point is YES, the earth has warmed previously (and cooled), but due to natural causes. This time WE are the ones causing the warming. For the first time, CO2 is most likely INITIATING and DOMINATING the temperature increase instead of being a secondary positive feedback forcing to a alternate cause (such as change in axis, realignment of continents, and changes to the pattern of solar activity).

  • "research a subject properly first instead of jumping on bandwagons of political thought" I´ve never meet a single scientist who isn´t shure about global warming, neither in any coledge nor in any research center.

"Earth was warmer 900 years ago"Yes indead earth´s temperature has changed across the ages, but everytime it does most of life on it ceases to exist, by the way this aint the first time it changes due to a biotic factor.

  • The President would never allow HHO gas to be used as a primary alternative for fossil fuels. It`s just to hard to control and tax compared to regular gasoline, That`s why it has been shelved for so long.. How do u tax a fuel that is made on demand?

  • Um, he already is, he just doesn't know it. The IRS already allows for a tax credit for using hydrogen as an alternative fuel source in making hybrid cars.

Your not supposed to be able to tax penalty something that's already listed as a tax credit, it defeats the purpose. Besides, the sales tax alone would be enough of a boost to the economy, and more travel for less means people can buy things they really need and restructure their cash flow, rather than spending all their money on gasoline.

  • CLIMATEGATE!!!!

    CO2-global warming is a lie

    check CRU+hackerattack on google

  • Global warming is happening...its obvious. The point that people often miss is that it is mostly natural. Human CO2 and methane emissions have only contributed to 1/5th of the warming, that is based on the assumption that C02 is actually to blame. Which has not even been prooved yet. The Global warming scare is just a political agenda that leaves no room for science, so to all those people who made the wake up call, i think i will hit snooze for now

  • I wonder if people realize this is all a bunch of BULLSHIT.

  • That is the question.

  • I wonder if people realize trees are renewable resources and companies actually grow their own tree farm for product use.

Or that whenever people cut down trees, they must plant 3 tree seeds in return...

oh, and recycling paper? That's a laugh, considering how much energy and waste goes into doing the process, like bleaching and de-inking, that leaves a sludge behind.

So, you know... trees are serious business.

  • Such a narrow perspective of time. You can't even fathom the vastness of the universe, the age of our world. Yet in your minds you think the few decades you've spent here is significant. It is not. The planet has endured far far more than you could ever throw at it. Yet some of you think wiping your butt with a corn cob is doing something.

The writing is on the wall. Climate change is BS. It's folly. People just don't buy it anymore.

Someday we'll look back and laugh.

  • The planet endures.... But the species does not. Climate change is caused by breaking our once symbiotic relationship with nature. Other life will thrive here in a new climate when we are gone. Our buildings will be broken down into ruins and swallowed back by the forests we destroyed. The trees will work for millenia to mop up the atmosphere. New life will thrive without the threat of systematic extinction. The planet will endure what we cannot. Some day we'll look back and laugh.

  • That was pure BS.

  • You are my hero! =)

  • Maybe time to wake up to a new belief system...

Check out youtube eco-video The Book of New Creation...

  • Yes! Let's do this again in 3 months!

People, are you listening!? It's not only our politicians who need to WAKE UP! The best time to demand fair, ambitious & binding action on climate change, species loss, habitat destruction and pollution is always RIGHT NOW! Call, write, email, fax etc. your leaders and representatives! Now do it again!

What kind of world do you want to live in? 9 Billion humans, cities, factory farms, power stations, deserts, and no wilderness left anywhere?

  • Also, if Climate change were an excuse for Governments to obtain more power, than why is there such a fight from the people to get there governments to change policy?

  • CakeMace- Who are you listening to? It's hard to call something a theory when its happening, but we all can't listen to Rush Limbaugh and be ignorant. Ignorance will ruin us. If YOU don't care, then why waste time watching these types of videos and spreading you're disdain?

  • Well that pretty arrogant. its a theory and you, or anyone else for that fact has been unable to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that its happening. to claim (As fact) that its happening is absolutely absurd

  • Theory means something entirely different in science than it does in everyday use. It doesnt mean random speculation,it means that something is the most plausible logical conclusion based on current information available. Calling something a theory does not dismiss it at all. Man's effect on the environment is based on scientific theory.

  • Yes.... but a theory is something that is still not proven

  • You appear to be basing this around the semantics of the word theory rather than how scientific observation actually works. A theory is backed up by research and evidence, you don't "prove or disprove it" as you must always allow new experiments to challenge it. This leaves room for science to constantly expand past its limitations.

Scientific observation and experimentation has actually shown the Climate to be Chaning over a large scale of time (sharply after the industrial revolution).

  • A theory doesn't necessarily have to be backed up by scientific research... however, a plausible theory would need to be backed up by scientific evidence!

Yes, science is always discovering more things... however, a theory does no simply qualify as a fact.

if i theorized that big rabid flying dogs are going to fall out of the sky does that make it fact? of course not

  • Wow.....you just pretty much ignored everything i just said and repeated yourself. I think I will stop talking to you now.

  • Comment removed

  • Possibly because you appear to be having trouble understanding that theory is not fact

  • @CakeMace Gravity is considered a theory. Would you claim it exist?

  • It's absolutely crucial that we start doing the right thing.

  • And what about Frau Merkel? Has she not known, for a very long time, what we are up to? She is a scientist, and now, because it fits her propaganda, and her power-agenda, is bringing this topic up? I do not trust her, nor do I trust the Green Party. As I have said here, many times. People, who are part of a system, having caused, what we face, never change, anything. Change comes from the outside, of sooner or later.

    Lisa from Munich

  • What are we witnessing here? People who are concerned about our planet? If one studies the scientific research about climate change, what else is left, than, to stand up, and say, no more of these cosmetic agreements, influenced by some people, who feel, that they are the World, lobbyist, for their own sake. Shame on them!

Ego-driven, connected through elite-circles, self-sufficient, arrogant. We witnessed a great party of the G20, nothing else.

    Lisa from Munich

  • What about people in Iran, Africa, Burma, etc., etc. Whatever the focus of their current standing up agenda is depending on the suppression, they face. Are they rebellious, or are they claiming human rights? We had the RAF here in Germany, who were fighting against the Nazi legacy. Now is the time, to stand up for a better world. Fighting against, never has been a solution. History tells us.

Uniting for human rights, which are our birth-rights, and not the rights, of these powers, to be.

  • Just figured, that I cannot do any search on you tube, anymore. A technical problem? I have to wait and see. Wake up! Stand up! We are the World! This small group of powers to be, should not have any power, other than, being administrators, of what the world population is asking for, deserving. Peace, Humility, Human Rights, Health, Getting rid of poverty, and saving the planet.

    Best from Munich,

Let us Unite, for a better and brighter World.

    Lisa from Munich

  • Frikkin Awesome!!! The things we can do as small individuals to influence big decisions that would have- been made without our concensus otherwise-major impacts on our lives!

  • "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." Margaret Mead.

People, who are part of the system, are prisoners, of the system, like most of our politicians are. The breakthrough is, that we understand. So we do not fight against; we are addressing and claiming our human rights, which are laid down in all kinds of international constitutions. Save the planet, we are the World.

    Lisa from Munich

  • I'm siappointed that you would quote an aristocratical, colonial ubermensch as your impetus. WE cannot save the planet WE must go with the planet and take what it brings, what we are experiencing is natural progression, precesion ...........the climate bandwagon is a falsoe one t mislead . The real problem is the supernatural macrobes draining our enery.........sorry sun but I must disagree at this over sensationalised propaganda of untruth.

  • Hey. I am puzzled. What did I say about an colonial uebermensch, propaganda of untruth?

I experienced, in the Eastern part of Germany, that people stood up for democracy and human rights, like people do, around the world. That is all, what I was honoring.

Am still not able to figure out, why you are so upset, anyways, I know, that you mean well.

    Lisa

  • no Lisa not you personally, I'm not venting at you.............its the false dialectic of global warming and disaster which gets me angry. Magaret Mead was a blueblood aristocrat and I dislike her immensely.........she considers herself and her class as being ubermensch and we are merely useless eaters to them. Hope that clarifies my position................still friends??

  • Oh, did not know that. Would I have known, I would not have quoted her. Thanks for alerting me. I understand and share your dislike for the reasons you mentioned. I feel sorry for all those, who think and feel, that they stand above others.

    Friends ... of course.

    Best from Munich,

  • I am not sure if it is a lie or not but I do believe in using more alternative energies in order to stop all these oil and coal factories pumping pollution into our air.

  • Ha, what a joke.

  • actually I am mistaken, it is not true that there has been no net warming when compared to the early 2000.

  • SuperAtheist: huh.

Global cooling only occurred recently in 2007-2008. That's not climate; that's weather. Though it is true that in the past decade there has been no net warming as of yet, the recent glacial melting cannot be explained by global cooling / maintenance.

Changes in solar output, perhaps as in increase/decreased sunspots, take effect over the duration of centuries.

Models with volcanism does not explain current effects. It only works with the addition of anthropologic actions.

  • Incredible! I felt like I was there. :-)

  • Global warming (and everything else Al Gore is involved in) is fucking BULLSHIT! Co2 is not pollution. If you eliminate Co2 the planet would freeze. Put the coolaid down and go back to science class.

  • @ enddebtslavery (and most Americans) - so whats wrong with a carbon tax? Are taxes inherantly bad? It has struck me in recent years just how paranoid americans are about tax. Its incredibly childish and selfish. Take the recent health care debate - it seems that all the apple pie eaters are concerned about is the $ - forget the agony of the poor, so long as it dont cost me a penny more, then its ok. If we can save a few more pennies, even better.

Taxes are a practical neccessity. Get over it

  • Hey guess what crazy people...

90% of the CO2 comes from NOT US but decaying and decomposing plants in the rain forest and more

    -brain splode-

so uh gl, cause w/e we do wont stop the change.

  • Hey thats amazing! - better tell the UNFCCC quick smart, so that we can finally all relax. Guess all the scientists were wrong... I knew it! ...

Cmon you fkn moron. AT LEAST provide some way that we can VALIDATE that bit of interesting information, or it is as useless as all the other baseless opinions out there.

  • Hey that's really interesting Maxwilso... How is it that CO2 emission from these culprit forests has increased as humans progressively transform forests into farmland?

  • "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." Margaret Mead.

People, who are part of the system, are prisoners, of the system, like most of our politicians are. The breakthrough is, that we understand. • I'm studying bioresource engineering, so I'm not totally stupid - let me just say one thing:

    LEARN ABOUT EXPONENTIAL GROWTH.

    And READ A GODDAMN BOOK.

Don't get your information from youtube vidz or the news, for christ's sake.

We're in the midst of the seventh major extinction in history. Remember dinosaurs? No, because they all died off. It's only a matter of time before tigers and wolves and cougars (and other large land mammals (us?)) become a thing of the past...

  • TOO MANY HUMANS. Simple as that. And you know what happens when there are too many of a species and too few resources? That species starts to die off (think disease, war, starvation in our case).

Don't want to think about it?

    DEAL WITH IT, HO.

We're in the midst of an EXTINCTION. We spray our land with POISON. The mid-Pacific ocean is a frickin' PILE OF GARBAGE.

Stop sassing with terms like eco-nazi and bitching about carbon tax. Stop listening to the Internet - it's kinda retarded.

  • that's how the eugenicists got scammed. Too many humans! That's always been the scam, but I know you are honorable and dignified wnough to take your own life Graftsandcrafts and lower your carbon footprint. It's not the destination of Earth that can save it, it's the journey. A eugenics world is a world of greed an inhumanity. No decent future can spawn from that, ..which is why they're going for an indecent future! Scammed!

  • HOLY FUCK! Will you fucking eco-nazi scum hurry up and die already? Seriously, if you're THAT concerned about the environment. Remove your self from it. I'm sick and fucking tired of not being able to turn on the tv or radio with out being bombarded by this utter bullshit.

  • I just hope the messege was clear.

  • It cracks me up that everybody is holding up recent model cell phones... The ultimate symbol of our disposable culture and attitudes. D-

  • I find it amusing that many of the comments are from people claiming that "global warming" is still a myth. You folks are the reason this wake-up call was necessary. Will you believe it when climate changes begin to affect YOU? Thanks for organising this, Avaaz. It was a valiant effort.

  • What makes me curious is that, it is being said that the other planets are also warming. In the small amount of research I've been able to do it would seem that this is indeed the case. What I'm wondering now is if the same affect is causing global warming on the earth. Now keep in mind, I'm only asking a question. On the other hand if global warming really is occurring because of the habits of humans, then I believe the best friend of your cause would be, having well informed participants.

  • it seems to me only positive that people across continents are connecting in this way: for global warming, a more fair and just world and for our own well-being and mental health more sustainable life styles have to be the way forward. thank you for sharing the video. julie

  • utter crap!

'carbon tax' coming your way soon!

  • The idea that we are having a major impact on the earth's climate is nothing short of a fallacy. Firstly, humankind's emissions are way way short of the natural geological processes that already occur. Secondly, the warming trend that earth has been experiencing can be easily explained by Milankovitch cycles.

  • My God, my spelling. Sorry about that.

  • global worming is cuz of the sun not us if it "WAS" us mars n other planets wouldnt be heating up aswell.. u see the earth dosnt rotat the sun always the same way after a 100 years or more the rotation changes n we get closer n closer n at the same time were moving to the center of the milky way n on top of that the sun is haveing sun spots witch will reach peak in 2012 so dont be fool peeps its not ur car or the green house gas's its just nature its self moving us outa the ice age one n for all

  • Wow you would actually have credibility if you knew how to spell, grammar and punctuate.

  • "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." Margaret Mead.

People, who are part of the system, are prisoners, of the system, like most of our politicians are. The breakthrough is, that we understand. • SPPI proved global warming is bullshit

  • lawrencezig93 :Can you explain, please? Strange that the ice in Greenland is melting at a 10% higher rate in te past 20 years? Doesn't have to be . Could me nature of course, so i'm interested in the SPPI (inverstigation?sponsored by which moneymaking indust ehh never mind, tyou get the picture I think).

  • someone has actually been recording the melting of ice in greenland? right down to EXACTLY how much ice is melting? (over 20 years!?!)

solid state's changing into liquid states isn't exactly a new scientific discovery... especially with water. there is bound to be increases and decreases in temperature over time. i wouldn't exactly call what you have described here as proof.

  • Ice melting isn't strange of course, but it does that, because it's warmer. I don't say the global warming is due to Co2. I would like another explanation, but I don't see one. The industry f...s with your mind...be aware.

  • the industry's not fucking with my mind, my mind is mine to make up and no one elses. ice melts from heat... it doesn't mean "greenhouse gasses" has anything to do with

  • The biggest change needs to be the DISMANTLING of the "SPACE MONKEY MAFIA."

Let Mother NATURE do her own job!

We're being duped but who the hell am I to say otherwise!!!!

  • You may think and feel, it is a hype?! Even, you would not believe it; the Arab World is also aware. My husband is in Jeddah, right now, being a guest at an inauguration of a university, details are found on our homepage. We are not lobbyist, other than sharing the same concerns, these people, do.

    Wake up call! Yes, indeed.

    Best from Munich,

    Lisa

  • My husband, has done profound research on Global Warming Issues. And, he is a scientist. What did he find? It is five minutes to twelve!

We cannot rely on all these cosmetic agreements of the powers to be. We have a voice, obviously demonstrated, here.

I salute this initiative. We are the World, and we co-create, a brighter world, together.

    All the best from Munich,

    Lisa

  • Thanks for the share Lisa. :o)

  • People bashing global warming thoeries are probably those who are just too lazy, selfish or greedy to bother to make a change to our planets' severe state. To me it's as much about recycling, composting, growing our own food, buying local and organic, small amounts of fish (the oceans are in a terribly poor state) as it is about 'global warming' per se. It all starts with caring for something much greater than ourselves for the sake of those without a voice, not just us (think animals and fish)

  • i bash global warming theory because i don't believe in the hype. all i see is a complete lack of evidence, wannabe scientists (Most who aren't even doctors) and Al gore running his mouth, hyped along by a nutcase environmentalist movement and paranoid people.

don't call others selfish and lazy simply because they refuse to believe in an unproven theory.

  • i would really like to see you in 5 years from now. trying to prove climate change as a hype.

  • Heh... I'd like to see anyone actually prove this not to be hype in the next 5 years... but, i don't see that happening.

  • Have you BOTHERED to watch ANYTHING based around this subject? If you'd truly 'like to see' - in your owns words, go seek. It's not bloody hype. Why would scientists, journalists, Greenpeace and many other organisations be spending their time on something so important to them? Are you suggestig they're all wrong? Even the US government has come around to support Global Warming, rather than ignore it and continue mass consumption of fossil fuels, contributing to around 30% of global emissions.

  • yes i have read and watched things on climate change... still doesn't mean climate change is any more than an unproven theory. scientists don't think its happening, as for the ones that think it is... well it's quite clear that they have proof beyond a reasonable doubt. as for greenpeace, they will do just about anything to get media attention. i don't care if the US government supports it or not, a theory is a theory. this particular theory is over hyped

  • I keep saying to people like you: just because it's a theory (and in your mind unproven), why does that then mean it's bogus? Why see it as such rather than believing it's quite possibly true? I am the biggest abvocate of anything that is 'anti-hype', but I do not see anything or anyone supporting the theory on global warming as hype-mongers, rather those who passionately believe in their findings (based on research) and want to spread the news before time runs out. They're not loonies.

  • Unproven? I have seen many, many documentaries supporting global warming theories - all of them sane, rational and well researched. I suggest you spend some time and effort doing the same unless it's easier for you to just write it all off because it's a theory. And what if this theory does become fact (I see it already but I'll humour you that there are no signs), what will you have done towards anything useful in this regard? Little.

  • fusion01wp

can you name the global warming theories?

I'm sure there are global warming and climate change hypotheses, but no actual theory.

  • There are many, theories on global warming. The most basic being we are burning fossil fuels in the form of oil, gas, coal and all these release CO2, carbon dioxide. These levels are much higher than the planet would normally release through plants, trees and other organic forms. It's pretty simple to me that if you consider our planet in perfect balance, and then contribute immense change, repercussions follow. Google and watch The Climate Wars as a good start (6 part BBC doc)

  • "There are many, theories on global warming" you've been misinformed! there are only hypothesis on GW and climate change. "consider our planet in perfect balance" when fire fighters put out a forest fire, when we plant trees, and gardens, wouldn't this also interfere with this imagined "perfect balance"? I'll watch it will you watch Science & social aspects of climate change? watch?v=9tOFoFx7S6M there are 4 parts
  • You all miss the point. You choose to ignore it because it's a thoery. Why not SUPPORT it, even if it's one? Let's put it this way, what if it's POSSIBLY true - and you don't seem to disagree on this or you would have said so - shouldn't something be done to lessen carbon emissions through simple life choices (by reducing your consumption of fossil fuels) than doing absolutely squat? The latter is the path of little effort, both mental and physical.

  • i don't support the theory because i have no reason to believe its happening, furthermore I'm sick of the constant hype about it

  • climate change seems like a load of crap to me. i can't help but think people have run off groaning and moaning that we should do something about this theoretical event without doing the necessary research. as far as I'm concerned, it's a sensationalized bunch of crap.

  • So when does it cease to become theory and enter reality? When coastal regions and islands are swallowed up? When ice caps melt and polar bears disappear? When hurricanes, droughts become common-place? When reefs supporting much of the oceans fish die? Much of this is happening already. You don't think that the mega-tons of CO2 we spew daily into the environment makes a difference? You (seriously) watched docs on Global Warming? There are many out there. Educate yourself.

  • theory becomes fact when the theory has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt... which is exactly what global warming and climate change is... a theory!

please don't try scare tactics on me, i have heard them all before and I'm not impressed. it sounds about as realistic to me as someone telling me that the death star, nazi zombies and cartoon villains are going to start causing havoc on earth... when wold that ever become a reality? never... but could it be a theory? sure

  • quit arguing on youtube, you're increasing CO2 emissions and contributing to global warming and climate change. turn off your computer, go take a walk or a jog and enjoy nature.

  • more more more of that kind of thing! I went there, but wasn`t aware of the number of people who were involved worldwide...

  • englisch i dont understand.

  • I'm so proud of all the people that were involved in this action. It is encouraging to know that we can create positive, simultaneous worldwide action. This type of co-creation can only improve as more and more people realize what can be achieved, working together!!

  • i think the science is undeniable....but even if - IF - it was wrong, all the changes that we are demanding create a much much better world anyway! so either we save ourselves and our planet or we just end up with a much better situation: it's win/win

and isn't it better to err on the side of caution when we are facing EXTINCTION?!

  • Thats it! Just Fckn WAKE UP!

Yep, its arrogant & condescending ... for 20 years Ive taken shit from mainstream & cynics & rednecks .. but now the facts are so blndingly clear only the philosophically retarded can not see the reality that is faced.

Sceptics should finally quit their vain posturing and do something useful for the planet.

  • I still call it "Global Warming" because that is what's happening: The planet is warming and it's due to greenhouse emissions from human activity and, increasingly, additional methane and CO2 from nature as a warmer world responds.

Please don't respond with your cherry-picked data from the last couple of years like "deniers" always do. You'll look like just another fool.

  • thefutureisvegan

are you denying that climate change is natural and has nothing to do with human activity?

  • I'm echoing the vast certainty in the scientific community that the current event is due to human activity. As I also state in my comment, nature is now responding by exacerbating the problem.

  • thefutureisvegan

    please watch

    watch?v=rtAuOyBdO4I

  • Thanks for the link. I agree with some of what he says and disagree with plenty of it too.

This guy is just another denier who is blathering on with the same old furfies about modeling, etc.. Get this: WE'RE ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT AT MODELING. WE USE IT ALL THE TIME TO GREAT AFFECT AND WE'VE BEEN MODELING CLIMATE FOR DECADES AND HAVE A GOOD HANDLE ON IT.

  • The current global temperature rise is perfectly correlated to the rise in atmospheric CO2. We can find no other cause. Solar activity is the same as pretty well ever. There's been no significant volcanism (volcanoes don't contribute much at all to atmospheric CO2 compared to humans - that's another denier canard). The Earth's tilt/wobble and orbit are not doing anything unusual.

  • "The current global temperature rise is perfectly correlated to the rise in atmospheric CO2."

don't you mean the current global cooling?

our current climate model can't explain why the globe is cooling even though co2 is still rising.

"Solar activity is the same as pretty well ever"

not true. the sun has 11 year cycles

    "There's been no significant volcanism"

yet far more co2 is spewed from volcanoes than from human activity.

so human activity must be even less significant

  • "don't you mean the current global cooling?"

There you go...cherry picking a tiny sample in order to support an erroneous assumption.

"our current climate model can't explain why the globe is cooling even though co2 is still rising."

Yes it can because we've had a La Ninya event for the past few years and end of the 11 year solar cycle. We're entering an El Nino now.

  • "not true. the sun has 11 year cycles"

Yeah and it's not doing anything out of the ordinary.

"yet far more co2 is spewed from volcanoes than from human activity."

Data? Cite references. It's another denier canard.

  • "This guy is just another denier..."

    what is he denying?

I deny the existence of gods, fairies, unicorns, dragons, snuffiluficus, intellectuals, experts, etc.! I guess this means I'm a denier.

you must be a denier too!

    or do you believe everything?

  • I examine the evidence and apply critical analysis. In this way I certainly deny things too.

The guy on the video you sent is denying the overwhelming evidence to support man's role in Global Warming. Also he made out that some of the fears that some environmentalists held in the past were a huge thing. I grew up in the 60's and remember those. They were lunatic fringe stuff, not mainstream by any stretch. So IMO he was attempting to create a false premise on which to build a phony argument.

  • lol.

  • People can disagree about the weather that they perceive, but they cannot disagree with a fact. The fact is the 6th great extinction is happening right now. Sure mass extinctions happened before but we (humans) are responsible. Just this year we already have lost 101 070 species (plants, animals) These species are gone forever no way to bring them back. And yes it's provable. So I agree that skeptics should finally quit their vain posturing and do something useful for the planet.

  • um yea your right, but I think you should read the next chapter of the book called, Bio-diversity. Its really good for any eco-system. Its even good for our economy. Also there is this newish thing called Bio-Mymicry that is pretty cool, basically the more we have to learn from nature the better we can solve problems.

  • lol biodiversity and interdependence - evolution and ecology doesn't work the way you think it works

and as a matter of fact, yes there is a list of all the extinct species

  • then present the list or a link to the list.

what happens to all the resources that are no longer consumed because the species consuming them are extinct?

  • hmm what do you think?

well either it isn't, which knocks off the ecosystem, or humans consume it (which we really don't need to, holy shit we have too many people and we consume too much)

  • other species are able to thrive because more resources are available.

"holy shit we have too many people and we consume too much"

so how many people should there be?

how do we chose who lives and who dies?

how do we kill the people you think shouldn't live?

what is the right amount of resources to consume?

    watch?v=rtAuOyBdO4I

  • well i see that u have an extremely simple view of how the world works

there is no such thing as "resources", there are nitrogen, chlorine, oxygen, water, etc

each species has a different role, a different niche! and we're unsettling the balance.

for example, all organisms "eat" and they give something back to the Earth. some eat plants, and they poop to fertilize the plants. now modern civilization "eats" a lot of gas, oil, and land, and we give off toxic chemicals and a lot of greenhouse gas

  • resources are whatever is being consumed to live.

are you really saying water is not a resource?

some of our modern resources were considered waste until we learned how to utilize them but to say "there is no such thing as "resources"" is ridicules.

  • so then a lot of species can't live with that, and they dwindle in numbers. Now certain bacteria manages to thrive off our toxins, and they grow in numbers. And a few more adaptive species take the "resources" that the extinct species left off, as a result, the climate changes, the habitats change, lots of organisms go extinct, lots of land will become very different from what they are now, and many humans will have a very hard time figuring how to survive.

  • so u see, we are not trying to save the planet. The planet can take care of itself. After the global warming catastrophe is over (if it happens), the world will continue to thrive. new species will evolve, the land will become lively again. there is pretty much no way we can possibly destroy the planet.

what we're trying to save now is ourselves, and quite a few other species.

so whether we are responsible or not, as a part of nature, we're gonna try to help!

  • "so u see, we are not trying to save the planet"

I know and I wish people would stop saying that.

you want to preserve the present environment that is best for the species living today.

    I'm all for that.

my argument is with the assumption that human activity and/or co2 are the cause.

  • oh sorry about that

well i can still argue about whether we are the cause of it, but i think that's less important

  • snowwolfsabertooth

"About 160,000 people die every year from side effects of global warming ranging from malaria to malnutrition and the numbers could almost double by 2020, a group of scientists said Tuesday." - wired

the World Health Organization currently estimates that each year malaria causes 300 to 500 million infections and over 1 million deaths each year.

wouldn't it make more sense to use more of our resources fighting malaria than global warming?

  • global warming is merely NATURE..................a cycle of nature and nothing more. Politicians are using this agenda for power and greed as usual. They have so wonderfully suceeded with religion and atheism is indeed the right path.

  • and i'm not suggesting killing people. Read "The Story of B" if you want to. It's really boring and I don't agree with it completely, but it shows that changing our lifestyle can influence our population

and the thing about how much resources should we consume? well there is no right amount, just as long as we're not obsessed about it, the world can take care of it. If we don't use it, nature will work its way

  • There is a very nice search engine that exists, they call it Google. You just have to write what you are looking for and usually you will find it. The '' ressources'' as you call them sometimes disappear also afterwards because they depended on those lost species for pollination or food

  • use google all the time. You probably aren't using it yet.

I'll try to write slow so you can understand.

an extinct species can not use resources.

therefore, those resources will be available for other species.

  • Didn't even get the irony!Yes maybe we should divert all '' ressources'' just to species that are worth something on the market. What is an oran-outang or polar bear worth? Palm oil from Cargill and oil rigs from Exxon create money. Wasted enough time debating with trolls. If the world doesn't wake up on time we'll have created ''hell'' on earth. And then all you cynics and trolls, rednecks, neocons, foxlovers and other denatured humans soon to be cyborgs will realise that you can't eat money

  • ldruide

so it still comes down to "if you don't agree with me, you're asleep".

you trolls are arrogance & condescending

  • "an extinct species cannot use resources . Therefore, those resources will be available to other species."

That shows your egregious lack of understanding when it comes to biology and the complexity of biospheres. it is almost laughable. Is your vision of an ecosystem comprised of "food", "homes", "water", ect?

You must realize that an ecosystem is more like a complex puzzle; each piece necessary to complete the equilibrium and hold everything in balance.

science is not always common sense

  • not all pieces are necessary.

  • I am wondering if you're really believing what you are writing or you are just one of this new specie that just appeared a couple of years ago . They call them Trolls

  • "I am wondering if you're really believing what you are writing..."

    you're just another denier!

trolls are not new specie. You kind have been here for millions of years!

  • superatheiest:

how is it possible that you can be subscribed to people like James Randi and other great intelligent atheists, and yet have such a distressing disregard for science? You are holding a line similar to Alex Jones who is a disillusioned, emotion driven, dogmatic, Christian dumb ass.

are you going to deny evolution next? a poll was taken of 3200 climatologists around the world, and 97% of them agree climate change is a result of humanity. similar numbers to the "evolution" debate.

  • Climate has to change. It's the very nature of climate. However, the hypothesis that CO2 is the cause hasn't been proven to date. How did this hypothesis spread? Because Olof Palme helped his school friedn Bert Bolin to become IPCC president, who then spread his own hypothesis with the aim to promote building nuclear power stations as being "clean" energy. Scientists today depend on aid money, therefore they commit to that hypothesis.

  • Anal:

That is a pathetic rationale. You clearly have no understanding of how science works.

I will not justify your comment with a longer response, because you are obviously a troll and do not expect to be taken seriously [profile and username].

  • think for yourselves but don't disagree with me

  • Think4Yourselves

    consensus is not proof!

approximately 85-90% of the worlds population believe in the existence of one or more gods.

just a few scientists believed the snowball earth scenario was possible, but now it's widely accepted as fact.

"You are holding a line similar to Alex Jones who is a disillusioned, emotion driven, dogmatic, Christian dumb ass."

NO! That would be your position.

  • SuperAtheist:

Of course consensus is not proof. I never suggested it was. It does however, provide strong insight into the validity of something, especially if it refers to scientists opinions on matters in their field of study.

Your parallel argument fails because the foundation of the belief in God is based on faith, not logic or fact. Science is the complete opposite and is designed to protect against such idiocy [scientific method, peer review, etc.].
