i use to get them after i start eating mackeral fish you get in tins, i think it's because of the mercury not the fish. i have started eating manuka honey and i never get them now. you can use honey mixed in water and then use them in your eyes aswell. honey is antibacterial and is the best thing. rose water is also antibacterial and can use that for your eyes aswell, i hope this helps.

Don`t touch or go near your nose unless you have washed your hands very well! Bacteria that live in the nose cause Styes to occur. I`ve suffered for years & still do with both Styes & Chalazions.

If you do get one use the hottest compress you can stand on cotton wool for 10 mins 4/5 times a day, That will settle it down before major swelling happens.

Popping them feels great but will only spread the infection as Styes are highly contagious.

Try using a warm to hot face cloth it goes down really fast. You don't even have to pop it. Trust me it works i have had a stye and my mom and that is all we do.

@PopPrincess714 Put hot water on a towel, not too hot you don't want to burn yourself, and place it on your closed eye. Lay back and relax. The heat will help it come to head. Also, next time you're in the shower stand and let the warm water hit your eye. Obviously you don't want to have the shower head on pulsate or massage during this. The "beating" effect will actually feel good. Especially if yours itches. The warmth will act like the cloth. Good luck! Been dealing w/ them for 14 years.

They will tell you the same thing. Look up Eyeeco Sty Care Kit. They make kits just for them. Or next time you're at Walgreen's/CVS whatever, look for Sterilid Foam. It's an eye LID wash. It is for those that suffer from staph of the eye, eye, styes. I'm sorry your style is bothersome, it will go away!

curious, if you were uninsured how much would it cost to get you stye looked at and treated ???......this is a serious question i cant even imagine paying for health, or having health insurance...we have insurance too but thats for medication and out of hospital care (physiotherapy, etc...) all prescriptions are $5 no matter the cost, and if u cant afford insurance its provided free of charge by blue cross...i cant imagine needing insurance to see a doctor, how much does it cost for a checkup?

Before I was able to get on my wifes insurance where she works I was paying just over $800. per month for health insurance. Many people in the USA work 2 jobs just to have health care
