  • no water?

  • I would have liked to see an "after" shot of that. Didn't really look like it was going to turn out very good.

  • HI Rico, do you use a particular organic stewed tomatoe or marina sauce in it?? if so, which would be the best selection can for a healthy eating?

  • Thanks for that video! i will try that this weekend.. i have a pot that sit in my kitchen and doing nothing...

  • I've been making my own meals days in advance for a month now and have lost about 5lbs of fat. I'm going to have to try out this recipe. Quick question, does your book have more recipes, kind of tired of eating the same few things I can cook. Thanks man!

  • @dannyjingu you can cook just about anything............veggies, meats etc

  • is it safe to put the cooked food in the fridge to eat it for a week?? -- That long??

I thought you can only put cooked food 2 days or most is 3 days in fridge. (infact 3 days i dare to eat already). For cooked meat is it best to put it in freezer if you want to eat it even on the 3rd day onwards ??

  • @DannyBaraco Hey Danny.............thanks LOL.......love it when my "peeps" have my back!!! As you know my purpose is to motivate and inspire people to want to be healthier. Have you subscribed to my newsletter blog at totalhealth4life net?

  • this guys scares me

  • @BeatBay No just an organic coffee so I burn fat from the first moment..........shake after

  • @totalhealth4life thank you so much for the fast answer, rico! is a black tea also okay, because i am more a tea guy? :) hope to see new videos from yours. you are a huge inspiration for many many many people! thank you

  • @BeatBay

    Green tea is the best

  • @totalhealth4life thank you very much!!!

  • how is this for the whole week? You've got 10-12 portions max, I eat 6-8 times a day :)

  • @Rollride It's your "dinner." Which means you eat this once a day..dinner time, and the other 4 meals are up to you: Break feast>Snack>Lunch>Snack>Dinner(this)...maybe a before bed protein shake.

  • Nice idea. I've never used cock pot before. Does everything cook nicely even if you just throw everything in and cook it all for 6 hours? No overcooking or udnercooking?

    Thanks

  • very interesting gotta love simple cooking.......u know what i recon a dash or 2 of worshire sauce and a teaspoon of garlic in that would be yummo too not a fan of brussel sprouts so i recon id prolly try sweet potato or something thanks for taking the time to show us this :)

  • Rico your awesome man, post some more cooking videos soon the grocery store vids are halarious

  • @spencey820 Thanks so much........my purpose in life is to give you information to make healthy choices in life which will change your health and your life! Yea I loved ranking basically the whole store while being IN the store!!!

  • 53 ?

    You look awesome dude.

  • @LulzBat Thanks...believe it or not......I"ll be 56 this August and I'm in better shape now! Reversing aging baby!

  • Brussel sprouts spoil quickly...otherwise the recipe is just fine to keep in the fridge for a week.

    JMO.

  • i hope i can be as fit and healthy as you when im 53!

  • This was just a demonstration?

I workout 4-5 days a week, and that amount of food would only keep me going a day or 2? You do eat more than that in a week?

    All the best

  • Hell yeah Rico once again this is awesome! Hey bro Ive been staying off the sodas and got into a basic exercise plan and really followed what you said in the grocery videos and im down like 50 lbs I started at 240 now im about 190 this happened in like 4- to-5 months Thanks bro.

  • bro send me before and after pics or make a video testimonial that i can put on my site!!!

  • Yeah bro I'll make a small video on my progress and I'll give you credit.

  • you da man! lol

  • NO seasonings?

  • i second the comment below

  • I "zing" em sometimes!!

  • its UNDER ARMOR..........have you been living in a cave bro?

  • I remember how much you love crock pot meals!!

  • Hey Rico,

I just subscribed to your monthly newsletter. I was wondering, is the newsletter free, or is there a monthly fee you have to pay?

  • I love doing meals like this in the crock pot, it is so easy. A little tip, check in your grocery store for crock pot liners, it is sort of like a baking bag you use in the oven. Your food wont get stuck to the sides of the pot, and it is so easy to clean up.

  • what if i dont have that crackpot

where can i also cook it?

  • if you want to constantly stir it for 6 hours use a regular pot

  • hey do u eat peanut butter sandwhiches ever or are they too high in fat?

  • never.dont do bread.......one teaspoon with my vitamins

  • hahaha... cool to see men using crockpots...

you should make some videos with recipes...

  • do you have more recipe ideas in your newsletter (which i just subscribed to) or your website? if not i'd love more videos like this, your opinion is one of the few i trust

  • throw just about anything you want..thats the beauty of this

  • Hi Rico,

I was chatting with my mate over here in the Uk who i've not seen for ages.. He's massive now, and dead lifts like 165kg.. He said that he was talking roids for 2 years to get big, but now is off them and regrets it.. He also said that a lot of people find it seriously hard to get to a decent size, and struggle for years and get no where.. Honestly, can you get big with the right protein, legal supps, carbs and good fats? I respect your opinion, that's why i'm asking.

  • Off the subject of the video. u mentioned water ionization in some videos... is there a cheap way of gettings this water?

  • i sell the best on the market..$1995 at ionizerwater site and give you $500 in free health products when u buy I am working on a four payment plan now

  • Rico what about the other meals?

What type of nutrition should I be looking to get at various times of the day? And why?

Its a pretty loaded question and probably not possible to answer in youtube reply. I think you should bring out a DVD or something similar explaining this kind of stuff (I for one would buy it). Or at the very least try covering this in a youtube video.

A book is fine, but really doesnt have the same appeal or motivational factor as a video.

  • bro the book has all the answers...im running 3 companies now and cant make a new video for every topic any more......this is to give you trust in me. the book is for anyone who REALLY wants to know all

  • yo Rico you should post some more recipe vids!

  • I have a couple of crock-pots. One serves 2 to 3 people and the other is the same size as the one you are using.

They seem to have made a comeback in recent years. They are very useful indeed.

I do like you do. I vary the ingredients to make different recipes, or I can freeze some of the cooked food and make something else and freeze portions of that as well. The big one shifts to "keep warm" after the regular time is done, so there is nothing to worry about.

    Cheers! All the best! =D

  • right on!

  • i just won a crockpot, and just bought my own condo... i'm a very lazy guy who would love to try this out! (and be healthy) i don't know anything about cooking, but this seems easy. any other easy recipes? Thanks!

  • no prob bro!

  • i always thought canned food isnt gd with those sodium n preservative

  • you go as fresh as you can, with free range chicken, fresh veggies, etc. I don't have the time to make my marinara sauce so I buy the healthiest one at Trader Joes.

  • This is a great video, I'll try this in my slow cooker, thanks.

  • this guy actually thought you called him a bitch because you thought he was a female....what an idiot

  • Actually, I'm a male. You are 100% wrong. Nice try though.

  • does the food last you for the whole week?

  • for about 7 dinners

  • That's great if you like eating the same damn thing every night of the week, and/or if seven day old chicken wets your appetite.

  • you change the ingredients each time...and yes many people go on spurts of liking the same food for a week or months my man

  • Hey rico? The last three times that i've been using my crockpot, i have noticed that when i cook it on low, after about 4hours the lid starts rattling and shaking from the excessive moisture. Am i using too much liquid? Do i need a bigger crockpot...this is very frustrating.

  • as long as nothing is bubbling out other than the noise its no big deal

  • great vid

    lets chat WB

  • What is this guy wearing? He looks like an American Gladiator or a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle or something.

  • You don't get out much do you??? UNDER ARMOUR one of the largest athletic apparel manufacturers in the country.

  • owned!!

  • cool!

  • Yeah I'm tired of eating frozen & canned fish!! And I get so hungry when I get home & tired from workout. You made a big difference!! Thanks for your time!!!! Where did you buy your crackpot?

  • Best Buy

  • Actually, I own several pieces of UNDER ARMOUR. However, I chose to go with the basic, solid colors. I opted out of the Spiderman suit. You're 53? First and foremost, get a new barber. Second, take some speech lessons and work on words containing the letter "L."

  • Different strokes for different folks Mr. Perfect. I do cut my hair the way i LIKE it and wear what I like to wear. I don't give a rat's ass what YOU think of me. I DO love the fact that you take time out of your busy day, to, in some way focus on me...I must be doing something right! My focus is THE MESSAGE. I'm very sure if i took ONE look at you I could tear you to shreads, but that's not what I'm about. Have a good day.

  • Okay, Rico. You don't "give a rat's ass" what I think of you, yet you're on here defending yourself and your ridiculous haircut. Keep cooking Betty Crocker; I'm sure one day American Gladiator will call you. Or should I say "American Gwadiator."

  • The day I stopped acting upon what people would think of me was the best thing I've ever done. I do what makes ME happy. That's why I'm the happiest guy you've ever seen. I don't want to be a TV star goofball. I want to help people and I am.....1,300 people think I'm doing a decent job. Keep up with your petty, childish, comments....as I said they don't and won't affect what I'm doing.

  • A) You're NOT the happiest guy I've ever seen. The happiest guy I ever saw was a man I met in Vermont, and by no coincidence, his name wasn't Rico.

    B) You claim to be the "happiest guy" I've ever seen, but in another reply, you said "I'm very sure if I took ONE look at you I could tear you to shreads." Now, say it with me; that's called an "oxymoron."

    C) Out of the 16,000+ people who had their day ruined by watching this video, a whopping 33 of them rated your video. Whoo to the hoo!

  • yes and what did they rate it??? 4.5 dufus. Your pitiful attempts to discredit me are seen by my 1300 subscribers as a very insecure little man. For someone you don't like you sure spend a lot of time thinking of me!!!! LMAO goofball.

  • LOL OWNED BY A 53 YEAR OLD DUDE

  • Yeah, I did it yesterday

I put chicken breast (skinless), some carrots, corn, tomatoes, and marinara sauce. Tasted pretty good.

  • Just bought a crockpot. But this video isnt working. Im going to dump some stuff in there, will update tommorow or the next day.

  • I did a pot this week of turkey breast, brussell sprouts, marinara and red potatoes.

  • Thanks for the ideas! You are 53 and in better shape than most 18 yr olds.

  • proof that you CAN reverse the aging process!

  • Just bought a crock pot an am going to try the video recipe. I've been looking to find another healthy way to eat. Cooking chicken and rice every night gets a little old.

  • I've been using Rico's low fat slow cooking method and its great. I use low fat veal, beef or lamb too. I add lots of carrots, brocoli, peas and cauliflower. Diced onion and mushrooms. 2 tins of low salt diced tomatoes, plenty of crushed garlic and rosemary. Sometimes a 1/4 cup of gravy mix. Just chuck it all in and cook anywhere from 7 to 10 hours on low. Just awesome. Mix with rice later on if desired. Thanks Rico!!!

  • damn that sounds good!

  • Ahem, I'm not a guy. Starch can go with any vegetable, but mixing this with meat is a good way to screw up your metabolism. You can look it up yourself. Just a suggestion.

  • To be honest, starch and proteins are not meant to be consumed together. It creates enzymes which actually produce an acid.

  • there are many schools of thought on that...what are you going to eat ten meals a day? protein one meal then carbs another???? you'd have to eat all day to get in all that food.

  • An average person should only consume about 2500 calories a day. Do you have to ingest it in one meal? Fruit for breakfast, then salad for lunch, then meat and starch free vegetables for dinner. This is a healthy diet.

  • bro..........I eat five small meals a day....i take digestive enzymes with every meal......I eat fruit, nuts, beans, veggies, protein shakes, tuna, chicken breasts, etc.......IT'S DONE OK FOR MY BODY. News flash when you wake up your body is starved for carbs AND protein... your diet will make you catabolic

  • hey man! love all your videos, you know your stuff, is it ok to reheat chicken after a few days?

  • yes of course

  • I agree with you totalhealth4life and you look amazing!!!

  • Love the healthy recipes!!

  • thanks!

  • nokkia 11001, go kiss a monkey's strudel! haha! You're jealous that Rico is better than you hahahaha!

  • Yes Rico, this is a great way to cook. For newbies, the slow cooking process allows foods to retain vitamins & moisture; the nutrition is particularly digestible in this form. Early cast iron crock pots have been used worldwide throughout human history. Just about any meat/food can be cooked in a crock pot with great results. Additionally, ceramic crock pots do not pose a danger of metallic conataminants that may flake from typical pans. Clean up is easy, the energy cost is less & NO STIRRING !

  • thanks for the back up!

  • Great vid keep them coming!!

  • yo the vids r great im 14 years old and i was wondering wat i can do get fit message me back thanx man

  • DUDE!!!!!!!!!!! That's what EVERY ONE OF MY 33 VIDEOS ARE ABOUT!!!!!

  • yup

  • Hey rico,

I am muslim and we can only eat halal meat and I am not sure if we get organic chicken. Do you think it will be okay to use non organic chicken if I cannot find organic?

  • Hey rico just ran into ya vids and they are great. Thanks

  • Many more to come bro!

  • Rico

You said in your ebook that you eat most of your carbs in the first 3 meals, so what carbs are you eating in your last 2, if any?

    Thanks

  • fruits and vegetables

  • Cheers fella! The crock is on baby ;)

  • do it baby!

  • whatever you want: marinara, or any other kind of tomato sauce you want!

  • Hey dude, lovin your shake with berries and cant wait to try this recipe. Whats the thing after the tomatos? Maranara ? What is this?Cheers in advance.

  • It sounds really good, however, I would love to see the finished dish.

  • it's the same stuff cooked!! :)

  • haha in 5minutes + BUT u haft to wait for about 6hours, before u got it.

  • your involvement in the cooking process is only five minutes. No stirring, checking etc.

  • is there any reason for not chopping everything up into slightly smaller pieces, i cant think of any reason not to it just seems like smaller pieces would be a lil easier to mix up and fit into containers?... maybe it has some benefit keeping them whole?... anyway i like this idea, why the hell have i never thought of this lol i ate like crap all through college, good videos

  • its just my preference.

  • nice hairstyle buddy.....

  • I'm buying a crockpot.

  • Hi pal! good work !

you are good with your nice buildt!

Asking how many chicken brests do you have for the week.

    for the week in total

and how many chiken brests pr day?

  • I make seven or eight chicken breasts per crockpot cooking. I eat them for my whole food meal after my post workout shake (two hours after). Just have some form of protein at every meal....egg whites, chicken breast, turkey breast, tuna, etc

  • Rico

I bought your e- book awhile back, very informative. However, you stated in a thread on youtube that you only take in about 150 - 200 grams of carbs per day? My muscles seem really flat on this low amount of carbs. For bulking up do you advise eating more carbs? I am joining the Sheriff's Department soon and I want to add about 10 - 15 pounds to my 185 pound frame at 6'1....Thanks

  • NO at least 300 carbs I do daily. Sorry if I made a mistake.

  • Thanks for your help Rico!!!..5 Stars to you!!

  • Thanks bro!

  • Thanks so much for this Rico, I save so much money and I can eat nice healthy food now . Before I was too lazy, busy or tired too cook and I always ate out but thats to your inspiration I can eat at home a lot more now =)

  • Glad I could help!

  • hey rico...sorry for buggin :) can you tell me what are the two kinds of can sauces called you just drpped off the crockpot?? the first and the second?? thanks!

  • You can use anything you like: Marinara sauce, Spaghetti sauce, Stewed tomatoes, etc. It's up to you.

  • Rico have you ever heard abou the un diet,if you have is it healthy and does it help

  • I don't reccomend any regimen or diet but MINE. It's why I wrote my book to teach people how to be as healthy as me.

  • I admire the fact that you are a single man cooking for yourself. But you are setting yourself up for inflammation by using nightshades(tomatoes, potatoes) and chicken. Chicken can cause more inflammation than red meat. In my quest to heal Multiple Sclerosis I've done a lot of research and ended up at Macrobiotics. You should give that a try. If it can help me, imagine what it could do for someone already as healthy as you.

  • Thank you very much for your info. It seems like EVERYTHING we eat is bad for us these days!!! What is your diet and what do you suggest to achieve optimal health? Cooked tomatoes is a great source of lycopene. White potatoes are high glycemic and I eat them after working out. Let me know your opinion.

  • I'm struggling to find a balanced diet that does not affect my Multiple Sclerosis. I do feel best when I eliminate all processed foods, milk products of any kind, gluten, nightshades and corn. That doesn't leave a whole lot of the typical American diet. It looks like what you are eating is working for you. I'm one of the unlucky few who has food sensitivies I'm just now conscious of. I'm still learning about Macrobiotics. I'll let you know if it really works.

  • lol you're so full of shit. The whole nightshade scare isn't backed by a shred of science. It's just fringe conspiracy nut talk.

  • dam man im 15 and i wanna start eating health and ive started hiting the gym but i dont got a crockpot

  • Let me tell you something. I didn't start really focusing on my health until I was around 25. If you start now you'll be ten years ahead of me, and look where I'm at at 53! Do it! You won't regret it and you be better in every aspect of your life!

  • thats what i wanna do i love working out and love eating healthy it gives me alot more energy and helps at the gym and i hope i can keep it up till your age:D

  • Rico, do you need to add water to that?

  • No. Your tomato sauce is all you need.

  • Crock pots are indeed a great way to cook. I prefer much more variety in my diet, so I certainly wouldn't eat chicken/sprouts/potatoes every day for a week, but your point is well taken.

  • im trying to gain waight so i can bern it all to muscle can u help me with a good bodybuilding food plz

  • im a vegetarian, is there an alternative to the chicken?

  • not that I can think of.

  • You could use beans, adzuki, black turtle, lentils, etc. You should read about macrobiotics. That's the healthiest way to eat.

  • I eat kidney beans, pinto beans, black beans etc.

  • respect i have followed your diet and i feel much better

  • Good job bro! Check out my web site totalhealth4life dot net if you haven't already and subscribe to my newsletter too! You can get the first chapter of my eBook Total Health For Life: Mind & Body, What the Diet & Fitness Gurus Forgot to Tell You ...for free when you subscribe. I blog almost every day with lots of relevant info you won't find on my You Tube videos!

  • can i just cook it in a big pot?

i dont have a crock pot

    thank you

    good vido

  • Yes but you lose the most important benefite: the ability to walk away and come back to a cooked meal 6 hours later, as you will have to stir, etc in a regular pot.

  • Rico, just wanted to let you know that I tried this last week and LOVED it! It was so easy plus I got several meals out of it, Genius idea! I am cooking up some more tonight.

  • I got lots more for you! Keep on watching!

  • so..is this a good recipe for the whole week? by d way what is the name of the can tomatoe and the marinated souce u use? and is it nessessary to use the crockpot?

  • I cook about 6 or 7 chicken breasts which is one week's worth of dinners with the potatoes and vegetables in the crockpot. You can use ANY tomato based sauce you want. Using the crockpot is the whole idea, so you can walk away and in 6 hours you have your food cooked without having to watch and stir it, etc.

  • I did this. Smart idea.

  • For those of us who like to eat good and aren't single serving chefs, its good! Glad to help you people out!

  • Wow, great idea! I am going to try that this week!

  • Я думал что это сказало

    CrAck Pot Cooking

    xD

  • You are an ignorant and obviously insecure, 19 year old surfing the web to make negative comments. I'd hate to be you!! Oh...I'm not! :)

  • Owned!!...sir, i wish i could be you...i seriously do...

  • One more thing. Next time you go to make derogatory comments about someone make sure you know how to spell.... douchebag!!! :) It's ok. I messed up a lot when I was your age too. You'll grow out of it.

  • Stavenfraz34-perhaps your mother didn't "slow cook" you long enough. Ive heard only 6.5 months may result in brain damage.

  • تحيات متظاهر تاج تـ ت

  • that cool

  • FUCKIN A! CROCKPOT here I come! Thanks RICO.

  • lol

  • i love crock pots.

they are cool for cooking meals and heating chocolate for cakes and candys : )

    **KISSES**

  • ok we get it he's 53 stop making that thing pop up

  • How about a recipe for breakfast? What do you do in five minutes?

  • power bar (I recommend ZONEBARS) Oatmeal, banana, apple. BOOMYAM!

  • mix protein powder with your rice or almond drink and have with your cereal (shredded wheat, cheerios, grape nuts, etc)

  • First I made your recipe (crock pot)..totally easy and tasty. Second I like the portein poweder idea... don't like power bars. : P Thanks again!!

  • I forgot to say to add spices and seasoning in too. Protein bars are full of junk.

  • so u do not recomend protein bars so are u saying that people should stay away from them ??

  • Most do not contain the amount of fiber that would be found if one ate an equal amount of carbohydrate from whole grains or beans rather than the carbohydrate in the energy bars. Most of the energy bars contain hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated palm oil, so even though the fat content of these bars is within reasonable limits, the percentage of saturated fat in the bar can be quite high (more than 50% of the fat in some bars).
