The lyrics and the music (the guitar) profoundly reflect the spirit of capoeira which is at roots of the Brazilian culture, it's great. Baden Powell is indeed the original composer, but he was so modest and shy and so busy composing that he couldn't bear to tour so often with Vinicius. But Toquinho plays his music with great talent and enthusiasm.

this is not the "original version", this song wasn't even composed by toquinho, it was composed by baden powell & vinícius de moraes. This version belongs to the album "o poeta e o violão". The first recording of this song(only instrumental) can be found at baden powell's "à vontade" from 1963.
