@classicsguy626 Although true that these networks are all one in the same, There are still legal and other areas that these clips are not aired. I have found that one of the reason is copyright. (I know a nasty word) The second is royalties and third is revenue. Its easier to control the availability of a program by making it limited.

Like for example the Flintstones. All the royalties to the producers and those who porvided the voices for are now dead. now they are public domain.

Its interesting that everybody wants these old cartoons back on tv. It's not the stations that won't play them, it's not like they aren't already on dvd or tape., Its because these cartoons are owned by Disney and they are not syndicated to be played on networks. Basically paying royalties to play these goodies. The only way these cartoons are going to survive is to get your hands on them and play them at home or watch them on Youtube. ;o)

@ke4tud there's disney channel, disney xd and abc family ALL owned by Disney and none play these old cartoons like they did 9 years ago. though abc family does sporadically plays christmas themed classics in december, that's really it. the point is, these cartoons have been a part of american culture since the 1920s and until around 2004, the classics have played a significant part in almost everyone's childhood. @classicsguy626 I'm not worried on whether we'll see these classics again or not, since like you said we have dvds, tapes and youtube...what I AM worried is how future generations will learn about these disney characters as more than just a group of dora the explorer knock offs (mickey mouse clubhouse). they are basically the forefathers of disney!! not hannah montana nor the jonas brothers!!! these characters are meant to entertain the WHOLE family, not just the toddlers (continue next post)

@classicsguy626 In order for ANYONE to buy any of the disney character merchandises (dvds, toys, etc.), they NEED to know about these characters, preferably the same way my age group has, tv, which disney channel fails to do other than its preschool show and its 'easy-to-miss' have a laugh shorts...The execs may use the excuse 'tastes change' for taking off their classics, but in reality, it's because their targeted audience don't find the classics entertaining like the rest of the age groups

@TheAngusKyle Even if we do want them back, and believe me, we do want them back, those in charge of the TV stations don't want to bring them back. It's sad that cartoons back in the day are a lot better than the ones we have in today's world. It's not just cartoons that's suffering today. Pro Wrestling, sit-coms, fantasy books, and many other things are suffering as well. I'd hate to see how the generation growing up with what we have today will turn out.

No i totally agree. Something about the way they sing in this is really aggravating, the sound of their voices I mean. Especially the "when chip and dale start cooking up some trouble...." part, the vibratos in "and dale" and "well done" just doesnt sound right. Also, the faces he makes when he says "start cooking up some trouble" are just awkward to watch.

No, they are not brothers. And I'm pretty sure they're not "just friends" either.
