Ok so I beat this dude with level 30s Kite, Blackrose, and Mistrel. heh heh after i beat him my cousin begged to play the game. So i let him. The boy was in tears when he got to skeith He died about 39 times and was pissed so i said ok fine. -buys 99 of potions and revives and mp pots- send him in. He dies. -data drains skeith for him- The boy was doing good. then messed up and payed for it. Skeith had 5hp left. instead of healing he went in -boom- XD He threw his controller.
YES! i beet him on my second try!:D only.... i went in with 99 health drinks, 4 Health potions and 40 mage souls or w/e and came out with only 10 health drinks o_O annnnd now im sad:(. because i beat the first part and can't get the next 3:C.
I just love the idea of this boss, fighting an invincible monster when a very low level, dying from vertially every hit, needing to have full stocked items to stand a good chance. Fighting this boss when not grinding is very fun, sadly if you grind a lot though he becomes a lot easier. But really not worth doing that as it takes away so much fun.

Forget Dragon Age, .hack invented the Strategic Action RPG. But if they made a multiplat HD Remake or an actual The World MMO, I already know everyone would play it, even if Skeith remained a bitch to fight :P

It'd be like the event bosses from Grand Fantasia, randomly spawning somewhere and announced server-wide with server messages as to how the fight is going.

@treeko300 weapons with lv2 skills are recommended. get Elk a head equipment with La Repth, and robes with as much def possible. For Blackrose, the best armor you can find for her and a good heavy blade should do. The rest is tactics and preparation, make sure you have plenty of recovery and buff items.

you know alot of gamers had there childhood created by zelda and megaman and pokemon and final fantasy well THIS game or morelike this BATTLE is what created my childhood this battle was just SO intense but this guy was just so challening it made wannna fight even harder and i eventually beat him in 7 mins with kite 36 blackrose 36 and ELK 32 the best boss battle fight EVER
when i first tried to fight skeith, me, blackrose, and elk were like lvl 28 or 29 and we totally got raped in like 5 seconds but then i gained 7 lvls and after 8 long minutes, we killed skeith
When I first heard that water drop and that long wavy scene finished with that crazy introduction for "The Terror of Death", I had that dreaded feeling of ass rape is coming.
Ah this is great love the somewhat old school sound effects. When i played this a couple years ago i was borrowing it from my cousin. Unfortunately i never got around to finishing it. Present day i went to gamestop to try and find it, but they didnt have anymore copies so i got .hack//mutation instead, hoping not to miss out on too much storyline. .hack// is great.

Just killed Skeith and it was kinda easy. Here's how I did it:
Party:
Kite lvl33
Black Rose lvl32
Gardenia lvl31
First go get A LOT OF Health Drinks (I had 99) and some Ressurects (I had 30). You can also get some Pure Waters and items to boost attack!
During the fight I just assigned BlackRose and Gardenia to use SKILLS and kept Kite away from Skeith to HEAL ONLY. I kept using Health Drinks and Resurrects when needed, and that's all I had to do. Pure Water can help against Judgement =)
@Cyan60 Thank you! The new .hacks will -never- beat the old SIGN and IMOQ. While G.U. was a good game by itself, it was a joke to the .hack series. Sora used to be such a badass in SIGN. :/ The new characters are so selfish and unlikable. (Well most, not all.)
Theres actually a weapon for the Wavemaster class and if you use it, you can defeat skeith in less than 5 minutes, each tornado will do like 100 per hit if you equip your Wavemaster with that weapon, that weapon is gained by Data Draining a certain high-level monster which i forgot, i hope i helped.
Lol and i was crazii to have my party as Kite, BlackRose, and i forgot his name but he was the same class as BlackRose and would join ur team if u gave him the sword found in the area u meet him in. Lol i cant say much tho cuz i only got the first out of them all T___T
I beat this thing at level 29 it was hard as hell to beat i used black rose and mistral what's cool is mistral does more damage to skeith than elk. I also used her secret weapons but then my stupid Ps2 broke a few months later v.v it got really old had that sucker for 11 years.
@AmayaNakashime24 I used Mistral because of how pimp her damage was. Id suggest mixing it up a bit and getting use to everyone. 3rd game i think she gets knocked up and doesnt play anymore and i had a HELL of a time adjusting to game play without her
This boss brings back some bad memories..along with some screaming, controller smashing, and all the good things that some with a 12 year old becoming frustrated over a game. Good times, good times.

@mikeemmie Yeah last boss of infection. After that is the entire mutation game. Best advice I can give you is to use elk blackrose and (Obviously kite) have ite be the healer while elk and blackrose attack. Expect to get judgement every half a minute and then data drained afterwards. Get up to level 33 and you SHOULD be good. Might as well go for 35 cause anything less will be tedious. Use ALL the buffs you can buy at the item shops too. It will help. Plenty of res is always good too.

The game is split among 4 discs. You probably have the first game. They were individually sold and released at separate times. The first series was Infection, Mutation, Outbreak, and then Quarantine.
@mikeemmie Have elk use his multi attack skills and Blackrose using her only real skill worthy of note. Keep kite healed and out of the way as often as possible and occasionally throw some Item attacks at skeith. if you keep up, then you will eventually be able to data drain then go to freaking town on it.
I hated this bastard the first time I played the series because I just did all the quests straight out no random field leveling and after he used judgement it killed my party, but then again I guess that's what I get for going after Skeith the Terror of Death at only level 26 lol.
@DarkFoxMaster The only problem is that Gardenia does not do ranged atttacks (Magic) you can position Elk relatively far away and still do significant damage. Hence why it is better to have him (Or mistral).
Watching this made me wonder... How did Orca of the Azure Sea, Descendant of Fianna, who Duoed The One Sin with Balmung, Die to Skeith while 3 lvl 33s were able to defeat him?
@nagel66523 but still, Orca wasn't able to do ANY damage at all to Skeith while Blackrose and any other third pary member you have are able to do damage.
@joeygoku1 that is true maybe its still something to do with the bracelet because kite has it him and anyone else within his party are able to attack him
biggest mistake i made was bringing a healer. elk and mistral get murdered way to easily and frequently, therefore they are extremely inefficient characters to use for this battled. After i stopped using elk and preplaced with an attacker, this battle got WAY easier. but it was still a bitch.
@DaKrazedKyubizt Yeah I believe at first I took Elk and Blackrose but I kept getting my ass kicked cause a healer is pointless if he is hugging skeith and gets killed in a few hits. So I started taking Sanjuro and Blackrose and I stayed out of the fight and healed them. So efficient! I did that on every single boss xD
i finally got all the .hack// games again so i decided to pop it and play it again. well i did a run through of this game came to this guy at level 26; i got my fucking ass kicked
ONLY game ever i've played where without buffs I stood no chance. I played it safe and like tried to max out as many buffs as I could. My party was Elk and Mistral tho. Double the healing power? wtf? I hate when you data drain him too, he recovers a lot of HP and moves around way too much. DAM U SKEITH! I remember I got soo close to beating him and then died, because I thought since he was data drain he was no threat. But, he put me to friggin sleep. and then pwnd my ass
When fighting phases or data bugs, damage DOES NOT matter in the first half of the battle. You need to execute as many hits as you can in order to break their defenses and get them into PROTECT BREAK. Then, after you Data Drain them, unleash the devestation.
i used same party but i was lvl 36 n elk was on first aid blackrose on skills n i was out of skeiths range excpet judgment n used magic/scrolls while using healing items to help elk out
hmm what weapons do you have? do you remember where you might have gotten them or where i can find some good duel blades im havin a bit of trouble at this point :P
@foxboy1305 power leveling was needed in both games.... besides. without this one, G.U never wouldve existed. in my opinion, they made G.U too easy seeing as how YOU were skeith and all epitaphs actually had health before data draining... and they die on the first data drain...
I used Blackrose and Mistral, it was a very easy boss IMO, on of the easiest bosses in the game, all you had to do was keep him in one spot with your skills and just live through his magic attacks, which shouldnt be to hard if your fast with the triangle button :D
no i was getting pwn my the monsters there i always took the same 3 people on every quest so my lvs were lv40 i had the game a long time i got bored and started grind -_-

I didn't really have mistral as heals, I Kinda had her on it, but when i didnt need it, I made her attack. I was level 33 and it took i think around 3-4 mins.
That said - NEVER EVERRRR let him get near your wavemaster. Or you're gonna be throwing revives out the ass.
I had Hell's gate, Blackrose that lvl 19 rare, and mistral had Dark History. Gl to anyone else who tries. Parasite was MUCH harder than this
@peanutbutterdawg: I don't know how they could end it without making an actual online version of The World.... They're missing out on a huge moneymaking opportunity and a fun... THING overall.
@Eagleye893 they did make an online version. ".Hack//fragment" or ".Hack//Online Offline" it sold very poorly in japan so servers were shut down, and the rest of the world never saw its release. then again, with todays technology. they could improve the game more
Bom-Bah-Yeh (Data Drain the Mu Guardians) is the best weapon to equip on Kite. Stacatto does the same damage as Twin Darkness and only spents 15 SP. In fact it has almost the same stats as Dante's Blades. I used Natsume as my third character and kicked his ass. I hate how the wavemasters doesn't do ANYTHING at all unless you tell them to. Even so I love both Elk and Mistral ;P

First go get A LOT OF Health Drinks (I had 99) and some Ressurects (I had 30). You can also get some Pure Waters and items to boost attack!
During the fight I just assigned BlackRose and Gardenia to use SKILLS and kept Kite away from Skeith to HEAL ONLY. I kept using Health Drinks and Resurrects when needed, and that's all I had to do. Pure Water can help against Judgement =)

@Cyan60 Thank you! The new .hacks will -never- beat the old SIGN and IMOQ. While G.U. was a good game by itself, it was a joke to the .hack series. Sora used to be such a badass in SIGN. :/ The new characters are so selfish and unlikable. (Well most, not all.)

Theres actually a weapon for the Wavemaster class and if you use it, you can defeat skeith in less than 5 minutes, each tornado will do like 100 per hit if you equip your Wavemaster with that weapon, that weapon is gained by Data Draining a certain high-level monster which i forgot, i hope i helped.

Lol and i was crazii to have my party as Kite, BlackRose, and i forgot his name but he was the same class as BlackRose and would join ur team if u gave him the sword found in the area u meet him in. Lol i cant say much tho cuz i only got the first out of them all T___T

I beat this thing at level 29 it was hard as hell to beat i used black rose and mistral what's cool is mistral does more damage to skeith than elk. I also used her secret weapons but then my stupid Ps2 broke a few months later v.v it got really old had that sucker for 11 years.

@AmayaNakashime24 I used Mistral because of how pimp her damage was. Id suggest mixing it up a bit and getting use to everyone. 3rd game i think she gets knocked up and doesnt play anymore and i had a HELL of a time adjusting to game play without her

This boss brings back some bad memories..along with some screaming, controller smashing, and all the good things that some with a 12 year old becoming frustrated over a game. Good times, good times.

(Ps,found how to have fun with gameshark and replaced Kite with Skeith...NOW HAVE A SEMI INVINSIBLE CHARACTER! Skeiths Datadrain does the same to me as it would with him though XD

Skeith was such a bitch. I can't tell you how many fscking times I fought him. Then I fight the other phases and one shot all of them...except Tarvos and Corbenik. Those two were tricky.

@mikeemmie Yeah last boss of infection. After that is the entire mutation game. Best advice I can give you is to use elk blackrose and (Obviously kite) have ite be the healer while elk and blackrose attack. Expect to get judgement every half a minute and then data drained afterwards. Get up to level 33 and you SHOULD be good. Might as well go for 35 cause anything less will be tedious. Use ALL the buffs you can buy at the item shops too. It will help. Plenty of res is always good too.

The game is split among 4 discs. You probably have the first game. They were individually sold and released at separate times. The first series was Infection, Mutation, Outbreak, and then Quarantine.

@mikeemmie Have elk use his multi attack skills and Blackrose using her only real skill worthy of note. Keep kite healed and out of the way as often as possible and occasionally throw some Item attacks at skeith. if you keep up, then you will eventually be able to data drain then go to freaking town on it.

I hated this bastard the first time I played the series because I just did all the quests straight out no random field leveling and after he used judgement it killed my party, but then again I guess that's what I get for going after Skeith the Terror of Death at only level 26 lol.

@DarkFoxMaster The only problem is that Gardenia does not do ranged atttacks (Magic) you can position Elk relatively far away and still do significant damage. Hence why it is better to have him (Or mistral).

I used Kite, Gardenia, and Black Rose all at level 34 and did pretty good. You really have to grind + use the right characters to beat Skeith.

biggest mistake i made was bringing a healer. elk and mistral get murdered way to easily and frequently, therefore they are extremely inefficient characters to use for this battled. After i stopped using elk and preplaced with an attacker, this battle got WAY easier. but it was still a bitch.

@DaKrazedKyubizt Yeah I believe at first I took Elk and Blackrose but I kept getting my ass kicked cause a healer is pointless if he is hugging skeith and gets killed in a few hits. So I started taking Sanjuro and Blackrose and I stayed out of the fight and healed them. So efficient! I did that on every single boss xD

ONLY game ever i've played where without buffs I stood no chance. I played it safe and like tried to max out as many buffs as I could. My party was Elk and Mistral tho. Double the healing power? wtf? I hate when you data drain him too, he recovers a lot of HP and moves around way too much. DAM U SKEITH! I remember I got soo close to beating him and then died, because I thought since he was data drain he was no threat. But, he put me to friggin sleep. and then pwnd my ass

When fighting phases or data bugs, damage DOES NOT matter in the first half of the battle. You need to execute as many hits as you can in order to break their defenses and get them into PROTECT BREAK. Then, after you Data Drain them, unleash the devestation.

@foxboy1305 power leveling was needed in both games.... besides. without this one, G.U never wouldve existed. in my opinion, they made G.U too easy seeing as how YOU were skeith and all epitaphs actually had health before data draining... and they die on the first data drain...

I found the easiest people to use was Blackrose and Gardenia, with you as heals...It works...DAMN well...even with Cubia (hated that battle -.-...)

I used Blackrose and Mistral, it was a very easy boss IMO, on of the easiest bosses in the game, all you had to do was keep him in one spot with your skills and just live through his magic attacks, which shouldnt be to hard if your fast with the triangle button :D

I didn't really have mistral as heals, I Kinda had her on it, but when i didnt need it, I made her attack. I was level 33 and it took i think around 3-4 mins.
That said - NEVER EVERRRR let him get near your wavemaster. Or you're gonna be throwing revives out the ass.
I had Hell's gate, Blackrose that lvl 19 rare, and mistral had Dark History. Gl to anyone else who tries. Parasite was MUCH harder than this

@Eagleye893 they did make an online version. ".Hack//fragment" or ".Hack//Online Offline" it sold very poorly in japan so servers were shut down, and the rest of the world never saw its release. then again, with todays technology. they could improve the game more

Bom-Bah-Yeh (Data Drain the Mu Guardians) is the best weapon to equip on Kite. Stacatto does the same damage as Twin Darkness and only spents 15 SP. In fact it has almost the same stats as Dante's Blades. I used Natsume as my third character and kicked his ass. I hate how the wavemasters doesn't do ANYTHING at all unless you tell them to. Even so I love both Elk and Mistral ;P
