Contrary to belief, Alexis ad a lot more money than her ex husband Blake. It is true that when Alexis left Blake and they divorced, Blake left her working poor. But when she eventually remarried Cecil Colby (whom had more money than the Carringtons) and then when Cecil died, Alexis inherited most of his fortune, stocks, etc from his estate, including Colby Co.

Blake Carrington was rich, but Alexis was obscenely rich.

I used to know her maiden name, but somewhere along the line I suppose I forgot she was ever a maiden to begin with, and the "Morell" got forgotten too! You know, when I was a kid, I wrote to ALL the Dynasty actors (and other actors, I had a collection of celeb autographs). Joan Collins was the ONLY one I really wanted, and the ONLY one (I mean, the ONLY one I ever wrote to) who never wrote back. I wrote her 5 times to no avail. I guess she is "The Bitch." I still love her though.

The way I remembered it was by her sister Caress. She still used their maiden name. I always say all the characters full names during the credits when watching any ep. FYI: Claudia's maiden name was Barrows.
