these hogs are barely feral! real ferals dont act like that, notice the curly tails. give em five or six more generations and theyll be real fun to hunt. loss of the floppy ears and curly tails usually takes approx. ten gens.
AWESOME VIDEO!!! Sir. I have a question, how do you get that close to the pigs with a bow? Do I have to use scent killer stuffs or something? Any advice or anything would be greatly appreciated Thank you
@whtkdtn1401 Feral hogs do have a keen sense of smell, but their eyesight is not so great. They can see movement very well, if you move very slowly, they have a harder time seeing you.
you guys had a great adventure. how did you dress and cook the hogs? did they taste good? there were quite a few hogs shot. they must have lasted many months. is the place a fenced preserved area? can outsiders like me hunt there? thanks for the post.
@goerizal We each went home with a hog or two :) They were great eating! Ribs, stews, porkloin steaks, sausage. You can either process the meat yourself or take it into a butcher to do it for you. It is a fenced in preserve and anyone can hunt there. It is called Outdoor Adventures Hunting in Oklahoma. Check them out on the web.

@bowhuntr64 i live in central florida on a ranch, part of my job is to get rid of the hogs. we use dogs to catch them and then stick em with a knife. thats way more fun than shooting pined hogs, kind of like shooting fish in a barrel. i dont buy any meat from a market. only a yankee like yourself would pay to shoot hogs in a pin.
6th annual! How large is the hunting area? Looks like a real good time, with some good buddies, and its obvious theres a bit of archery skill there. Thanks.
I dont want to come off rude but I dont get it... I am an avid bowhunter/hunter and I dont see the sport in standing in a couple of acre pen with a bow shooting things that are caged in. Dont get me wrong, great time with buddies for sure, I would do it but its not hunting. More like live target practice.
@kegsworth11 Yeah, it is like a live 3 D shoot...not like hunting whitetails, but fun just the same. It is an 80 acre enclosure, but is with a lot of elevation changes. and thick woods. The video is a compilation of 12 guys hunting for 8 hours...so it was not as action packed and easy as it looked. That being said, it was not exactly hard either. Great for fun and new bowhunters, which is what we had.

Well, if you're referring to the first hog - it shows you how tough these animals are. The first shot was a perfectly placed arrow - we could've let him keep wandering around bleeding - but we opted to finish him as quickly as possible - only option was to put more arrows in him. Either way - thanks for watching.
We had a great time...call it what you want. Many of us have successfully bowhunted a bunch of different species on public land all over the country; while others were going on their first archery hunt. We had fun and got plenty of pork...it was a lot more fun than shopping for pork at Safeway.
Just crap hunting , this is for city boys and gay hunters...

Bows are ok but I'll stick to my rifle. One shot. One kill. Were hoping to move to the area around Duncan as soon as we sell our house in New Mexico.

this is a damn pin? i cant believe you paid money to hunt in a pin.

@adammotox I can't believe you pay money for pork at your grocery store. I bet we had more fun getting our meat than you had buying yours.

i hate bows, using a bow makes the hog suffer before it dies, a good ol bullet to the head is quick and painless

It was in a high fenced ranch. We set up on some good trails and just tucked behind trees till they came by. Not super challenging, but lots of fun!
