  • Though this may be common knowledge to any Civil War buff worth his salt, Gen. Lew Wallace was the one who wrote Ben-Hur.

  • I participated in the reenactment battles at the filming and it was one of the few times I ever felt as if I was in real combat Skirmishers out forward of the lines and monted generals etc. . Outstanding experience. Thanks to all.

  • did this even happen

  • are there any copy's of the dvd left? I can't find anywhere

  • @reb4lee ...hello yty Amazon...I also would like a copy..thanks

  • these people know what its about great job in film making keep it up.gods in generals smelled of cheese.

  • Oops, I meant Corps not Division! =)

  • Is this movie focused around when Gen. Jubal Early led his division towards Washington and actually got within close range of the city? I just assumed with the "fall election" and the attention on Washington D.C., I thought it might be about Gen. Early's attempt.

See you boys at the 145th Gettysburg!

    Cpl.

    8th OVI, National Reg.

  • Yes, this is EXACTLY the event and story that this film is all about. You were right on the money.

  • Why my friend is this battle not well known? The battle that saved Washington, D. C. and the Lincoln govenment is on of the most neglected and obscured engagements in military history. But 5 days after Independence day a prewar lawyer and governor who would later write Ben Hur would defend Washington with a force of less than 6,000 men. For the life of me I do not understand why this is not remembered.

  • Lionheart does a pretty good job on their films. I saw Wicked Spring the other night, and I thought it was the most realistic WBTS film I'd seen.

  • This movie was filmed at Boonsboro, MD, near Hagerstown, where Gods and Generals was filmed.

  • c'mon guys its gettysburg, the south invaded the north

  • no its not this happened in 1864.

  • Wow! I felt like I was right there! Really cool

  • Post the whole movie.

  • this would be around 1864, due to the fall elections i believe.

  • It's Monocacy.

Video looks good. Really brings the realism and the personal feeling to it.

  • This actually looks very promising I must say. The combat scenes looked exceptional from what I could see. It'd be nice to see another Civil War film that captures the realism of combat. Gods and Generals was terrible. It looks like this takes place at Gettysburg too, I thought I saw General Meade.

  • That about Sharpsbourg or about Gettysburg?

  • neither
