  • I remember having this as a kid back in 1987 when my parents took me to Japan. We went to Disneyland and my mom bought this Metalder figurine for me. I also bought a doraemon alarm clock, a metalder handbag and pair of vinyl karmen raider black chopsticks. However I lost that figure a long time ago... This brings back a lot of fond childhood memories!

  • @kfki This is exactly why I make videos. ^^ Thanks for watching!

  • Did anybody noticed that Kenner made Metalder steal Spielban's handgun?

  • Nice review! I still have this toy, but my Metalder is a bit battle ravaged. A few of the villains are in even worse shape -- Coolgin's missing his mask, and he looks stupid underneath his mask.

One thing that always pissed me off about the Ghostbank series: the commercials for the Ghostbank shows a little Godneros sitting in his throne, but the actual set doesn't have a Godneros. False advertising!

  • Thanks man! My Side Phantom is kinda beat. : ( I trudged on and made a review for it anyway.

I wish I had some of the villains. Seems like most toy lines have zero villains while the ones that do like Metalder and Gogo Five get shuffled aside.

Totally agree about the Ghostbank lacking Godneros. Bandai misrepresented just about every toy in this line. The Metal Charger on the box looks nothing like the actual toy.

  • this review is cool!

  • Another great review! Really takes me back! Was just wondering what you thought of the Bandai SIC figures?

  • Thanks!

Not really a fan of action figures outside of old school Chogokin figures or interesting ones like Metalder.

  • Metalder looks so badass. That figure's pretty awesome, too. As for the VR Troopers figures...wow, I never even saw any of them back when they WERE out in stores.

  • How small are we talking, exactly? 4, 5 inches?

I don't remember the VR Trooper figures having knee joints, but my memory isn't the best.

  • I'm pretty sure I mentioned it in the info box to the right...if not, the figure is in the 3" ballpark.

  • Reminds me so much of Kikaida lol

  • Great detailing for it's time and it's scale. It might just be the photos, but the arms and legs do look a little out of proportion though.

Other than that, it's great :) I always liked that car too...

  • The arms seem a tad bit longer...most likely so they can reach the handlebars perfectly on Side Phantom...which is coming up soon.

Metal Charger (the car) also has a review coming soon. ^^

  • never know that the old toy from old time is more detail than the toy now...

  • We're talking the 80s here. Quality and detail were amazing back then.

  • I have one that looks similar to this one......

and the I have the ugly gold one too....

  • Yeah, sounds like the VR Trooper ones...which are quite larger.

  • the face of this metalder figure looks deformed

  • Howso? Looks fine to me.

Close-up shots might not be the greatest since the figure is pretty small.

  • well on the blue side his eye is smaller than the other side

  • Opps! I ment ... Voltage Up! =)

  • Hahaa. Time Limit is there too...at the end.

  • I get my Toku songs confused sometimes. :P

  • Time Limit!

  • that looks awesome
