Everytime he makes a spectacular shot he almost always will tell you that he was lucky no matter how many times you obviously see him mentally marking the angles with his cuestick, looking for alternate paths and visualizing the cueball's trajectory to raise his chances of hitting and/or potting the ball prior to shooting. If one realizes that Efren used to play 3-Cushion then one wouldn't be as doubtful of his abilities since these kinds of shots are but normal to a 3C player's arsenal.

you clearly don't know the guy. that's just the way he is, he smiles or laugh when he makes a difficult shot most of the time. he obviously aim for the shot and of course he believed he can make it that's why he went for it and judging by this man's history he's the kind of guy that goes for it and have a lot of conviction on his shots to make it. for me a fluke is something you didn't intend to do but happened. that shot was pure skill and great cushion reading.

Actually , its you that don't know what you are talking about. They are playing rotation, not 8 ball. Thats why he had to hit the 4 first, and that's why it is such a great shot.

At exactly 0:25, notice where Efren laid his cue on the rail. Its about 1-2 inches away from the middle diamond.... Then try to pause before the cueball hits the third rail and try the slow motion and watch carefully where the cueball hits, he just missed his initial target by 2-3cm!....He's been doing this quite a few times in the last 2 decades, what a lucky guy this Efren! Good analysis of the shot setup. At 0:25, he's lining up the natural angle for a full-ball hit. A full ball hit sells out the 1 ball, and if he goes a little long on the shot, it's a scratch. I have to believe he made a slight adjustment. He saw that if he hit the 2nd diamond, he had a good chance of pocketing the ball.

tatagabasacloonbohol needs to watch some 3-cushion billiards - he'd soon realize the great ones don't rely on luck.
