@tonyyezj Thank you for all your constructive feedback! Only thing is...I don't even play this piece anymore, I'm afraid. But if I ever do, I will keep your reccomendations in mind. :)
@tonyyezj Oh but actually one note about the dynamics: I've had alot of people complain about on many of my videos...the reason it all sounds exactly the same volume is because I wasn't using a very good camera at the time, and the mic wasn't sensitive enough to detect differences in volume--it would all even it out to the same. I got a new camera recently and sound recording is much improved, as you can see on my newer videos.
I've always found Burgmüller is an underrated composer. This is a lovely little piece and you play it very well. Perhaps a little syncopation here and there - like on the second quarter of the bar, for instance - would give it a little more of the "gypsy dance" feeling. But otherwise - great!
I currently took a bit of break from this piece while I practice for an upcoming piano competition in April so I haven't spent time since on improving it like you say. :p Thanks for the feedback though, as I'll probably try getting back to some of my older pieces sometime after April.
Really? This piece isn't exactly meant to be played like Chopin. It's quite sharp (at least in the staccato sections) and very vast and lively. I think too much rubato would really ruin this piece, unless you mean "feeling and expression" in a different sense. If you're talking about dynamics, my camera's microphone is unfortunately quite lousy and doesn't capture differences in volume very well.
On that note (no pun intended) do you know of anyone else on YouTube who plays this piece how you would prefer? I'd be interested in listening. Anyone else I've found so far plays it even more robotically than myself.
I have to play this for my grade 7 exam!! this is very good!!

This is played well. However, couple of suggestions:
- You sped up at 0:10, after the intro.
- Lack of dynamics. Needs better cres., descres.
- You are definitely technically secure in this piece, well done.
- At 0:56, for the left hand, you should attempt to play legato octaves (marked legato).
- Sped up at 1:09 again. I'm sure there's no Accel. anywhere in this piece.
- Pay more attention to the phrasing.
Good job!

can someone help me? How is 0:45 suppose to be played? Just like the video or with breaks in the middle? thank you

That's probably a matter of interpertation--if you think it sounds good, add the break. Otherwise, do it like I do. I personally prefer the latter.

You lack feeling and expression.
