for a good trap load use a 30 bushing and a 1oz bar and # 7.5 shot. great off the 16 and good to 20 but beyond that 1 1/8 bar and 32 bushing with red dot
even though im not a fan of country music this video was still a really good demonstration of this press. so thanks for the knowlege. see how fuggin hard was that? so many people bitching about music and shlt, ungratefull fuvks these days
Thanks for posting this. I'm new to reloading I've been thinking about getting one of these MEC 600 jr's. Your vid really helps to see what I can expect. The music was little distracting but I just turned up the volume and I could hear you OK. Thanks again!
@oldPlatoonDaddy The bushings are for which type and how much powder you want to use. It doesn't really matter which brand hull you use. All powder manufacturers will have a listing for each brand hull but basically it's all the same amount of powder.
@Derek130b It can vary depending on which type and amount of powder. I can't really give you a honest answer but I can say 1 lb of powder will load a LOT of shells!
I know you are not aware of this, but some folks [me] can't hear more than one thing at a time. Because of the back ground noise, you would call it music, I can't hear what you are saying. So this video was a waste of your time, and mine, as far as I am concerned. I think it would be a very helpful video, if you talked without the noise.
Good video. Question: since the powder and shots pass through the same tube and you mentioned that sometimes the shots sticks in the tube, have you noticed if any powder sticks in it too and maybe get mixed in with the shots?
I going to get one now you put this video up lol i have never reloaded ammo in my life. Ive always had to just buy it. its too expensive over here in Australia to buy ammo . Because i do alot of shooting it just gets to expensive.
Im going to ge one in 410 as thats what i shoot. Is the Process still the same with 410 shells.
I just started to look into shotshell reloading, but it doesn't seem to be cost effective compared to buying commercial loads. You can get 100 rounds from WalMart for $21.
Are you able to control how much powder is dropped? I want to shoot trap on my property an I want to reload in order to power down the shells in order to be sure the shot only rains down on my property.
best video on how to reload in youtube. my question is, will you need different powder for steel shot? If i reload 3in or 3.5 in shells, wouldn't more powder be needed? If it does, will that thing know how to put the right amount of powder in?
@mrpimpster with this reloader i do not believe you can reload 3.5 inch sheels, you can reload three inch.; you would need to buy a bigger charge bar for more shot, i would go buy a good load book,
@mrpimpster To reload 3 1/2in. shells I THINK you will need to buy the 3 1/2 in. loader. Then if you want to reload 2 3/4 or 3 in. shells you buy whats called the "short kit" put that on the 3 1/2 reloader, Then you can do all three lengths.
Its a MEC 600 jr. Mark 5...the "V" is a roman numeral. Its a great reloader. I shoot about a case a week and that is what I reload with. I am soon going to upgrade to a MEC 650 because it is a progressive, saves a lot of time.
I just got one last night what loads have you worked up or preffer. My charge bars do not have interchangable bushings they are set to what ever they are drilled out to from the manufacturer what powder ,wad, and shot combos also AA or Rem hulls thanks
Well yes i have a question for you. Do u like to use AA cause they are a more reliable made winchester brand of shells, and also where is the rest of ya?

It seems pretty dumb to play music over an instructional video.

@styx85 He's cool, the music is playing on the right levels, and is not Bodies by Drowning Pool....(Thank GOD)

@styx85 Really...make a video discussing something and the listener has to try and here the mumble of his voice over the music...dumb.

Hello Cool Vid! Can you load high Brass and is it different process?
Thanks
Colt
coltbuntline 3 months ago
@coltbuntline no different. high or low brass. all brass you need a different crimper.

This would have been a better video if that BS country song wasn't playing. I can barely hear you through that garbage. Otherwise great vid.

Let me add my voice to those who say the music drowns you out. Too much artillery, to few ear plugs.

How about a video on setting up the MEC, that certainly would fill a void.

Being a newbie don't let the following question panic you: can you reload AA, STS and Club hulls without changing the bushings?
