Nice video, although the description is a little demeaning to the bike. I believe the rider was pushing himself to the limits, but that wasn't pushing the Trance to it's limits by any stretch of the imagination....lol
G'day mate! you've asked a good question...i would say if you're playing on racing i'd go the Anthem, but if you're wanting to do more of the aggressive stuff,or riding similar to what i do?..then go the TRANCE! I ride a size 18 which i believe is a medium and i'm less than 6ft tall...I find the Trance's 5 inches of travel more than enough for all the riding i do and don't go lightly! ;-) and the MAESTRO suspension never lets you down either! Thanks for subscribing too.
X1, X2, or Anthem of the same designation? Decisions, decisions......can't decide if I want to change stance, and get away from the slumped over position of my current hardtail, and save my back some grief. Any thoughts on the pros and cons of both? Also frame size. I've been told the Trance frame is big as it is, and that my current Trek 18" frame would translate to a Med. in the Trance. Seems garyfishy to me. Great video, btw.....for once, a cool soundtrack to match the visuals. Nice.
@drsquirrel0 yep,the footage was taken via a Go Pro helmet cam mounted in the floating chest mount...i think the results show how good this mount can really be.
@drsquirrel0 i look forward to seeing the results of your invention, and i'm hoping Contour make a chest mount soon,as everything I've tried so far hasn't worked.
@suspensiondude The shape of the contour I don't see how well anything will work. I know its not in the position you're looking for, but maybe considering a shoulder mount, or maybe even under your arm to your right/left - though this could fowl your arm movements...
Great vid! helping make my mind up on purchasing a Trance... just need to work out how much to spend and if to go 2010 or 2011..

Really like this view point, mounted on some chest harness?

@suspensiondude aye the perspective is brilliant, helmet cams move around too much and bar mounted cams tend to be a bit too static.
Might try and run my muvi using an old HR band or something next time im out on the hills.
