  • @rangere3rd im not saying you are lieing, but those numbers seem a bit high. The ls1's came with 345-350 horse at the crank and the highest i have heard a completely stock ls1 put to the wheels is 330. It just doesnt seem likely that they would gain 30 rwhp with just electric waterpump.

  • not saying your wrong or lieing but you also got to look at there milage and dirty engines and alot of other things, gm high performance tested this last year they took 3 LS1's one from a vette one from a Trans am ws6 and one from a camaro ss and all three rean between 345 to 355 rwhp stock tunes and everything the only thing they did different was the put on electric water pumps

  • Not to sound cocky but I have also gone up againsts some really well built and tuned ls1's and they made me look like a bitch it was basically taking a geo against a lambo....

  • I have an 03 mach 1 with minor bolt ons plus RAI x-pipe mufflers suspension gears and a tune and she is 337rwhp and I can put a stock z-28 ls1 behind me in a 1/4 but anything outside the 1/4 its game over for me those ls1 motors really come alive in the higher rpm

  • @08candyzx6r seems a little high for just minor bolt ons..buddies 99' cobra with just about everything done to it as far as bolt ons just made between 300-310 rwhp; not sure on exact but just saying.

  • @08candyzx6r I know what you mean, I just upgraded from a 2000 mustang v6 to a 2002 camaro SS, anything above 2500-3000 rpm and I have power on command. With the 6 speed it makes the top end past the 1/4 pretty damn fast. The mach 1 is a great car stock for stock against the LS1 though. I'd actually prefer a mach 1 over a 99 or 01 cobra.

If you had paid any attention to anything, you would know that the Ls1 is a superior motor to the Lt1. 5.7 dont mean jack as the 5.7 has been around for decades. I mean an L98 is a 5.7 but they dont seem to be taking newer mustangs stock to stock.

  • if i had a mach 1 i would invest in a tranny swap and get a 6-speed so you can get better acceleration without losing top end and it would be more fair too since trans am and ss are 6-speeds

  • The T/A had to have more the exhaust and a tune to walk a Mach 1 that hard. Mach 1s are low 13s cars. That was a murder. Is it full exhaust? Either way good kill.

  • Who says it can't? Mine ran 13.3 bone stock. TAs run low 13s as well, stock.  They are both low 13 sec cars man.

  • A WS6 can run high 12's-low 13's. I've seen 2 '02 WS.6's run 12.7 bone stock.

  • You sure that 12.7 TA wasn't on drag radials? I can see a 12.7 on tires. I've had 2 ls1 Z28s and an 04 GTO, so I'm no stranger to LS1 capability. I'm not arguing that the LS1 doesn't have the edge, but 9/10 times, its a drivers race between a Mach and any LS1 F-body.

  • @SKitles888 No sir. They are rear wheel drive my friend. The 04 GTOs have the same 350 HP LS1 engine as the C5 Corvettes, and the same automatic 4l60e, or manual T-56 as those Vettes. The 05-06 GTOs have the same 400 HP LS2 that some of the C6 Vettes came with, but still have the same 4L60 and T-56 transmissions.

  • @Mach1Spd lol yea write after i posted that, im like this is youtube, so i typed in 05 gto burnout, i know they got the same motor an tranny as corvettes, but vettes have that wicked intake manifold, thats pretty cool the gto is like a camaro or firebird, my 95 formula has a t-56 tranny (:

  • @SKitles888  the 01/02 trans ams, GTO's and corvettes, have the LS6 intake manifolds there's no difference between them

  • @Mach1Spd not to argue and shit but the LS2 is rated at 375RWHP not 400 the stock LS1's made 415 to the crank and made 355 to the wheels the LS2 made 435 to the crank and 375RWHP the LS3 made 460

  • @rangere3rd not in my exp... ls1 was around 355 crank, 300 rw, ls2 400 crank, 335-340 wheel, LS3 426ish crank, 365 wheel.

    Thats based off of several vettes, a couple GTOs and a bunch of camaros...

  • nice vid, not a bad race, but 5.7L LT1 vs a 4.6 Ford Motor really isnt too much of a race IMO (both cars have potential but the TA has a stronger base to build up from, not saying the stang cant get it don, but if both are bolt on b*tches, the TA should win everytime)

  • @unrealford why do ppl hate on the firebirds like that, lol guess its kinda funny, but i see so many god dam camaros its not funny, firebirds F-body has way more curves than any same year of camaro, go to my chan. an look at my 95 formula, its white so it would be the mullet mobile if any, but with the big stripe down the center an the ram air... it looks better than any other 90's firebird i ever seen, an i dont think i wiil ever see one that looks better...

  • Shaker hood aint a mod, it comes factory and does nothing for performance. the T/As ram air does more than the machs shaker.

  • @killswitchracing nah I have a mach 1, if anything the shaker slows it down. It's extra weight + the air hits too many walls before it goes to the TB. That's why most mach 1's get a aftermarket CAI that mixes with the ram air and has a open box where the air filter sits. So that the air coming from the headlight and grill does most of the work while the ram air is just a +.

  • @GATOWater I would never use a CAI.. RAI with a cutout in the air box for the shaker feeder for sure. the intake tube from the MAF to the TB is total shit in the Mach 1s Mine is going bye bye in the spring. If you do a good pull then get out and grab the tube from the shaker, its cold. Its definitely piping a lot of cold air into the air box for sure. Its not a big differnece but i wouldnt say it hurts. Plus, Its Fucking Cool... I love watching it move around in the hood on the road.

  • @cooldbz12 Well actually the shaker hood does ad to the performance. Somewhat negligable though, think CAI performance enchancement.

  • @cooldbz12 oh hell yea, shaker hood is so fake so for looks, the ram air is forced induction which is better than cold air, stick ur hand out ur window next time ur doin 100, thats some forced induction, i actually think it is the single most best way to have any cars aircleaner hooked up, thru the hood like that, does seem to get alittle warm in stop an go taxi traffic tho

  • @killswitchracing not tryna knock the t/a(it was a good run for it) but it had just exhaust at the time and it murdered the mach like that? that should still be a drivers race as far as machs and t/a's go.
