Turns out they gave me the wrong instructions. Instead of simply punching "Democrat" and voting (I'm Independent) there was ANOTHER little spot that needed to be punched.
Thus my vote didn't count. I was given incorrect instructions and told to only punch Democrat.

The Rich and Ultra-rich classes of society will always dominate over the middle and working classes. What is the point of voting on a Tuesday? Why not a Saturday and have the polls open for 24 hours. Our system is setup so the working class has to stand in long lines to vote after they get out of work. How fair is that?

I live in G.A. I became a U.S. citizen in Nov. 2007. I delivered the voting application and registered for voting in Dec. 2007. I suppose to have a voting card in 2 weeks from that day. Now, I still don't have my voting card. I was going to vote for Ron.

The offical wasnt exactly great. anyway the whole american voting system is faulty. There should be 1 national system. Electronic voting can be used provided it gives you a ''vote receit'' when you cast. This receuit is then placed in a ballot box and if there is a suspicion of voter fraud then atleast you have a paper trail. The electroic side of it allows for a fast accurate count.

The same thing happened to me. I'm also in California - I had to re-register as a Republican in order to vote for Ron Paul THREE times before it was actually changed. It took two months to do.

We use card ballots and a black pen, in Alabama.
We also have to show a photo I.D.
It works out pretty well.

yeah thats bad, here in washington it was only a couple years ago that they forced us to choose a party, and its getting worse every year.
Its so bad that they decided to have a caucus and a primary, and in washington state law caucus' are illegal, but no one knows that i guess, not to mention the caucus is before the primary and all the delegates are handed out for the caucus.
so those that can only vote in the primary, well there vote won't count, only the handful in the caucus will.

i registered republican last june in NJ and received my acknowledgment of such. when i showed up to vote i was still listed as undeclared. they pulled out a democrat ticket and handed it to me. they were very nice about then giving me a republican ticket but it made me wonder how many of my brothers and sisters were running into the same situation.

I also am from Los Angeles. Switched parties from Non-Partisan to Republican over 6 weeks prior to election. Yet on voting day, with my registration, and my sample ballot in hand "REP" listed on there: Yet in their BOOK as Non Partisan. I was told that I can vote Provisional Only, but that I be sure I am registered properly or the provisional ballot will not be counted!!!

When I got to the polling place I found out I "had changed to a permanent absentee ballot".
(Another friend said she had to "undeclared" preventing her vote for Ron Paul.)
This sucks and these are deliberate mistakes; just part of the voting "game".
I too had to vote "provisionally", but my friends vote was ripped.

but being against the war goes hand in hand with all of his other policies. like he says, we spend WAY to much money supporting our empire. that money could be better spent stimulating our economy at home, not occupying multiple foreign countries. besides, whats 'not conservative' about not wanting to go to war, much less spend money on it, especially when its not absolutely necessary. if you ask me, going to war and spendings over 1 trillion dollars a year is the definition of not conservative.

I was forced to make about 100 people vote provisionally because they were registered wrong. Or not at all, and it wasn't their fault.

I live in G.A. I became a U.S. citizen in Nov. 2007. I delivered the voting application and registered for voting in Dec. 2007. I suppose to have a voting card in 2 weeks from that day. Now, I still don't have my voting card. I was going to vote for Ron.
America is not America anymore. Most of the people who work in the government are fucked up.
After my college graduation, I can't wait to leave the U.S.

Its something we all be taught ever since we were young to be with the popular crowed. The offical wasnt exactly great. anyway the whole american voting system is faulty. There should be 1 national system. Electronic voting can be used provided it gives you a ''vote receit'' when you cast. This receuit is then placed in a ballot box and if there is a suspicion of voter fraud then atleast you have a paper trail. The electroic side of it allows for a fast accurate count.

The same thing happened to me. I'm also in California - I had to re-register as a Republican in order to vote for Ron Paul THREE times before it was actually changed. It took two months to do.
