  • show de bola, video top ...

  • and remember what BJ Penn says:

"You tap to strikes, you're a little bitch"

  • Even after years, this is still my all time favourite compilations. RIP PRIDE.

  • caiu uma lagrima agora.

  • ESSE VÍDEO É ÓSSON PO BACANA MESMO

  • Prid was just beautiful... today we have great talents in the UFC but it's not the same..Pride was magic.

    The end of the video..oh my...tears U_U

  • this is fucking deep

  • must have been such a privilege to be in the ring with these guys, these beasts, these men of honor and violence, these men at the peak of their ability

  • NICE. THX. @MMAODDS

  • 2:18

who's that guy that has a stare-down with Jackson.

  • @tik999 Ikuhisa Minowa 美濃輪 育久

  • @tik999

That is the crazy bastard that is Ikuhisa 'The Punk' Minowa, Or the last few years just 'Minowaman'

  • This video makes me cry.

  • don't wipe two people with the same bloody towel

    that's fucking gross

  • i miss u pride ....

  • فيدور الافضل

    Fedor the Best

  • "wait a sec, my arm got broken.."

    "no lol" at 3:23

    o.O

  • Thank god Strike-force has adopted the ref cam.

  • The beginnning of this video is very special. This was my first Free Fight i was watching in my whole life. It was the Stand Up Fighter vs. The Ground Fighter. I went with Crocop, but Nog showed TRUE heart in the whole fight. He was beaten up by so many guys like Fedor. But all the shots he was taken is incredible. MUCH respect for Big Nog ! even if the new MMA fans are discrediting PRIDE ! PRIDE was the THING ! it brought me to MMA ! PRIDE FC R.I.P !

  • Pride Fc was much more then just fights, they made a spectacle out of everything, you were in for a all around good show.UFC is cool but nothing like Pride.Dana White bought Pride for its fighters and threw the Pride name in the garbage.Hey but you got Dream now!LOL!!!

  • 0:20. =[[

  • haha yoshida wasn't scared of wandy.

  • insane, ref cam is insane.

    nuff said!

  • Pride was the Ultimate League when it came to MMA. I followed it since 2003, and saw it die in 2007. IEverybody's saying Fedor, Crocop and Nogueira are overrated, but they wen't through wars ! And when i say wars i mean wars ! Nobody can take that much punishment forever. But we still got Rampage and Shogun doing very well at the moment. Rampage won a close decision, but Shogun knocked out Machida ! He came back out of nowhere. There's still hope !

  • @RebdOOmer88 Shogun tapped to strikes.

  • @mcknives98745 Shogun didnt tap to strikes. his arm was broken when Coleman took him down. the ref saw the arm was broken and stepped in.

  • against jones

  • @mcknives98745 oh right, thought you were talking about Shogun on this vid. he did tap to strikes from Jones but Herb had already stepped in when he crumpled from the liver shot.

  • You're absolutely wrong about everything.

Pride made more money, to this day the UFC has not caught up.

Pride did not go away from money problems, they went away because of a scandal, that was NEVER proven, even remotely, with the Yakuza. Dana White had his hand in it.

All of the Pride events were shown in the UK, you just didnt have enough money for a dish, in order to watch them.

  • I live in the UK. PRIDE was never shown here.

It was shown in the US, but how many people watched it? Not many.

I imagine UFC will do a big stadium show at some point, maybe not 80,000 though. They want to keep their ticket prices high.

If PRIDE had a better business model they would still be in business today, and the top American fighters would still fight in Japan, and not the US.

  • And I was a MASSIVE fan of PRIDE. I am just mature enough to recognise their faults, and why they are not still around today, yet UFC is.

  • ctd... I am 34 years old. UFC is motivate by money because they are run as a business. If PRIDE was motivated by money they might still be around today.

  • fedor got the shit kicked out of him in the Cro Cop fight

    he still won but damn

  • Silva & Shogun hold UFC titles, but Silva was never a "PRIDE guy". He just had some fights there. Many of the former PRIDE fighters have been horribly exposed in UFC, Cro Cop being the best example.

How could Dana beat PRIDE legit when the Yakuza wouldn't let UFC even run events in Japan?

I was a big fan of PRIDE but even I can see things clearly.

  • @OldSchoolRasslin The Yakusa had nothing to do with the UFC not running events in Japan, Dana never wanted to. You might want to learn a few things before looking like an idiot. Dana took Chuck over there & gambled on the outcome, then he didnt pay up when he lost. CroCop was ALWAYS garbage. A 1 trick pony. Nobody else has been "exposed" as you put it. Rampage held the belt as well,.. who just beat the unbeatable Machida? oh yeah,Rampage did. Gomi KOed Tyson. Anderson,..More to come. Pride OWNS!

  • @TheCyndicate

    Who said Machida was unbeatable?

PRIDE doesn't exist anymore. It doesn't OWN anyone. To be precise, UFC "OWNS" PRIDE.

If Dana didn't pay up on his bet, he's an asshole.

You don't think UFC would run events in Japan if they thought they could make money there?

  • @OldSchoolRasslin Nice 4 replys, I had you running FRANTIC. Thats usually a sign of who is right. Dana said he couldnt run events in Japan, because the fighters he had at the time were not known in Japan. Making a venue like that would COST him money, not make any. Yakuza, LOL!!! They might be motivated by money, but they do not have a better business model, or they would have had 80,000 in attendance at some point. Pride was shown all over the world, in every country. SATELLITE.

  • just shed my pride tear :(

  • those guys have pride

  • I wept manly tears..

  • wow...

  • this is one of the best videos i have ever seen.thanks you did a great job. where did you get footage like that. the ending was amazing. as soon as i seen it i knew it waa fedor and cro cop. great job

  • I like UFC, and they certainly have a better business model than PRIDE ever did, but nothing will ever equal PRIDE in terms of excitement and emotions. It was the zenith of MMA.

  • @OldSchoolRasslin You think the UFC has a better business model? Dude, Pride had over 80,000 people in each arena nearly everytime, 1 or more per month. The UFC is no where NEAR that. Look at the scope of the show.

Dana White hated Pride, he had a hand in handing over information to Police & Reporters in Japan that had to do with Pride & the Yakuza. Dana could not beat Pride legit, so he had to play dirty. Funny how that after all of that, its mostly pride fighters that hold the UFC belts now.

  • @TheCyndicate Well, there's something like 30 million people in the Tokyo area, so it's a lot easier to get 80k people attending the shows when the train stops right near the stadium.

I miss Pride, and nothing will ever replace it.

  • @buddharox So you are gonna say, people walked off the streets in Tokyo, at random, to pay 60-100 bucks to watch fighting, when they dont even care about fighting? Dude, Vegas has SO many huge citys next to it, with access to more than triple the populous of Tokyo, and nobody gets near that. On top of that, the Superbowl gets 80,000 people no matter the city. It IS event related, period.

  • @TheCyndicate

PRIDE had one event in it's history that did 80,000+, that was Shockwave 2002.

They did not run close to once a month, even including the Bushido events which did smaller crowds than the main PRIDE events.

UFC is big worldwide, PRIDE was only big in Japan.

UFC builds up new stars from the undercard, PRIDE never did that, they overloaded cards with star names with no thought for the future. Once Sakuraba was done as a main eventer they never had a new Japanese star to take over.

  • @OldSchoolRasslin You have no clue what you are talking about. Pride lowest gate in Japan was like 40,000 people. I live in Vegas, I went to Pride here in Vegas. Pride was HUGE worldwide, proving again, you never watched. I have been a part of this sport since it started. I am 32 years old. The UFC is a freaking joke. Guided by political ambitions motivated by money. Anderson was a Pride guy, period. He learned it ALL in Pride,PERIOD.

  • @TheCyndicate

You better update Wikipedia to show the "correct" attendances. Some of the arenas PRIDE ran in would not hold over 40,000 if you crammed people in like sardines. Where was PRIDE even shown outside Japan and North America? The PPVs got buys in the low 5 figures in North America. Anderson Silva is a much better fighter today than he was in PRIDE, he left PRIDE and fought in smaller promotions before joining the UFC because he wanted experience fighting in a cage.

  • @TheCyndicate Anderson Silva had 5 fights under the PRIDE banner. He was mearly a shell of his current self then and didn't really come into his style until he left.

  • @Roarman245 You're wrong dude. I was there when he was in Pride, I dont just look it up on Sherdog stats. Anderson learned the ropes in Pride. Pride was the largets org, period. Anderson came from Pride. He got BEAT in Pride. That should tell you something. Either way, he is a Pride fighter, that currently dominates his class in the UFC. So, .. try again.

  • @TheCyndicate Pride doesn't exist anymore. He also fought in King of the Cage among other leagues... does that mean he's a KOTC fighter? He's fought the majority of his career in the UFC, his accomplishments in the UFC and while he was high ranked when in Pride he did suffer embarrassing losses there, his prime is in the UFC. There are no such thing as "Pride" and "UFC" fighters, there a fighters. Quit paying so much attention to organizational politics and just watch the damn fights.

  • Great video! Love the headcam footage.

  • @ 3:02 look how relentless fedor is, what a beast...

  • rampage got fucked out there.lol.

  • fuckin beautiful

  • This video has been the epitome of MMA for me and gives me chills still to this day. I enjoy some UFC fights and still do, but there is truly no comparison, especially when you see it put together like this.

  • pride was sick, granted i think i only really enjoyed it because fighters were allowed to kick an opponent in the head when they were down lol. I never understood why they used a boxing ring though

  • After every highlight i've seen, this one is the one that will always tuely be my favourite.

  • PRIDE!!!

  • I like to watch this when im drunk, so good

  • fuck coldplay

  • @qpzmak Any other time I'd agree with you, but this Boondock made this song fit this video perfectly. Coldplay may suck any other time, but here it's a work of art.

  • such a good video

  • wonderful vid.

  • My favorite MMA highlight of All-Time.

Fightin' their hearts out. And respect.

God bless those devils and bless the best MMA highlight compilation man, Boondock.

Boondock's 3rd man is exactly what MMA is all about.

  • @bradlee180 Thanks brother. Your comments capture what I'd hoped to communicate.

    Long Live MMA!

  • Great Great Pride FC ! I grew up with Pride FC. It was always there, great match-ups, cool introductions of the fighters. This video gives me goose bumps when i watch it. It's like it happened yesterday. I know we got the UFC now, but Pride cannot be beaten. Pride was the whole package. R.I.P

  • Fedor to Cropcop: Bitch F&*k yo leg kick!

  • 1:44 so romantic :)

  • The Best part of this Video is The clip of Rulan Gardner during the lyrics If "you never Try you'll never know"

  • This video made me appreciate a song from a band I really hate, Coldplay. Simply one of the best MMA highlights ever !

  • I must say, I have seen a lot of pride fights, but never once remeber complaining about the refs. Well there were the illegal knees by igor on Kerr, but that was about it. Bring their refs to the ufc, lol.

  • I agree theirs better judges for MMA when pride was around, but come on NEVER, what about Yoshida/Thompson? or like another person said Arona/Sakuraba. In every sport theirs mistakes made by the refs. Just hope theirs not a lot of repeating ones

  • ufc will never be as pridefc

  • Yeah man Dana white is all about making a quick buck off of his UFC fighters, Pride was all about the fighters and the fans. Pride # 1

  • hm even though Pride's downfall was betting with the Yakuza (fact) and often rumored to have rigged a few decisions/fights?

  • Well first off you used rumored and fact in the same sentence. This is a conundrum. 2nd I highly doubt that the yakuza was associated in any way with pride, but who knows this is the first I've ever heard of this...

  • 3:40 Igor :(

  • Agreed, love Igor

  • The best referees definetly, they were always accure in their stopages and they prevent the minumun of innecesary damage.

  • except for the sakuraba/arona fight right?

  • no PRIDE no LIFE

  • everytime i watch this video a lil tear comes out of my eye pride i love u. U will always be in the hearts of the fans!!!!

  • @Unnatural09

PRIDE FC was the ULTIMATE ! There will be never be anything like this again ! PRIDE FC was the golden Era of MMA.

  • @RebdOOmer88 That version of MMA had everything I mean the cage is fad but greater matches happen in the ring example Pride. Question is will the UFC get to big for its own good obviously they know the business is usual routine. UFC is a shadow of its former self the old ufc couldn't work but god damn that was classic but the new UFC and the American Version of MMA is well American orientent favored but lack of theme of outside of cage is plain but the fights our where there at.

  • @RebdOOmer88 Nothing like Pride equaling the playing field with there rules tho can't say the same for the New UFC.

  • @XLHairyBuddha503 dude, did you ever fucking watch pride? It had its strengths, but fairness wasn't one of them

  • I miss PRIDE FC

  • You and me both.

  • me too. pride was just so awesome and more entertaining than the ufc.

  • Cro Cop and BJ Penn are both great fighters, but you can't compare them lol

  • SICK Highlight!

  • call me odd but i would love to be a ref someday.

  • the only better job than that might be being joe rogan. haha

  • fuckin finally somebody else gets my logic!!!

  • I miss Pride.

  • me too:(

  • I feel so bad for Cro Cop at the beginning of the video. He really put his heart into this sport and he never needed the money for it. He was like BJ Penn, completely fine financially but wanted to be the best in the world.

  • never, never compare crocop to bj penn again

  • never ever ever ever ever!

  • i never saw the actual footage, i just heard about it. i figured thats who it was

  • 2:32 -2:35, who gets knocked out by the knee?

  • rampage vs wanderlei silva

  • ???? how can you not know that????

  • Comment removed

  • Goddam I love this vid. The ending gives me chills, man.

  • It's the best video when i ever saw on YT 100/5

  • @ 1:16 cameraman!!

  • amazing video, should have way more views than this

  • I've watch this video so many times! When I drink and watch this, I get emotional, lol. This video is what I show to people that are just getting introdused to the sport. IT shows the spirit of the sport. Simply a masterpiece!

    Thank you for this!

  • aww poor rampage got murderd

  • very orginal idea, very well done

  • Holy Sh!t Fedor looks fast at 3:03

  • He's always that fast

  • 3:39 epic

  • Poor Igor, it breaks my heart everytime.

  • bondoock is a genius

  • Excellent video, added to favs. As good as the UFC is, it seems to a watered down version of pride!

  • Coldplay-fix you

  • so true :D

  • wats the name of this song.

  • these guys are such warriors mma is such an pure sport it is sad it has such an bad stamp though everyone thinks it is a brutal sport i think it not any worse than thaiboxing or regular boxing

  • i agree except that i think not only is it not worse than boxing, its ALOT better for you. Rather than taking 12 rounds of repetitive head trauma, you can be tapped out, 3 rounds of up and down fighitng, and theres leg kicks, clinching, takedowns. boxing is far worse for your health, just the uneducated people think its just brawling

  • BOOYAH nukkas!

  • damn ref's in pride were so good and accurate, like man, i dont remember crying about beeing bad called or something, they were right there when the fighter was done

  • lol but sometimes they let fights go on way too long .. look at sakuraba and enson inoue vs igor

  • yea that is also true

  • Agreed, there's ups and downs for fighters no matter the organization. The drug thing might have relevance though, idk...

  • but i do

  • ya.. i agree... they were juicing up soo much...

but those head kicks and stomps were sooo freakin dope!!! how I miss pride!!

it was part of my early teenage years!!! now they have only this UFC shit with only american fighters!! I want to see Overheem back! Cro-cop, Arona, Sakuraba, Belfort, Fedor, all those legendary ones back and fight on UFC or something.... those were the good days

  • I love the part where Noguiera's corner runs in celebration after he defeats Crocop with that sick armbar!!!

  • it sux that almost every pride fighter got destroyed in the ufc

  • they have to get use to the rules i think because they cant do what they use to do in pride like head stomp and other stuff

  • it could b that but i think its cus pride didnt do drug sceenings so they were juicing and when they fought in the ufc they couldnt use the same suppliments but thats jus my oppinion

  • yah i could be that too lol

  • If u notice that almost all the fighters who went to ufc from pride have run out of steam or have gone past their prime condition. Its only for a bit more financial gain.

  • But that's not completely true, is it? Anderson Silva, Rampage, Nogueira, Shogun etc. are doing quite fine. Of course there's gonna people who can't handle the cage. But one also has to take into account that they fought alot more often in PRIDE. Compare Nog and Cotoure's records for example. :) I see your point though.

  • I suppose, am just stating one of the possible reasons am sure there are many things that effect their performance on oth them being a strong opponent like when cro cop cot kicked in the head and his ankle went all funny an shit.

  • Big Nog is back!

    Shogun will sub Machida!

  • A] Yes he will.

B] You don't need to "take down" someone in order to sub them.

  • A] No he won't.

B] You have to get close enough to attempt a submission. Ground sub, flying sub (Which "Big nog" has never been known to do) or standing sub necessitates a proximity which he will never achieve due to machidas fighting style.

  • Big Nog is fighting Machida, eh?

Hoger, Nakumura and Sokoujou have all taken Machida down, they all "got in proximity". And these guys are all less skilled than Shogun.

Sure, fighters who have gone for classic wrestling TD's have failed vs Lyoto, but Shogun's style of TD's are not based in wrestling. He uses various leg sweeps, belly and shoulders throws.

He might also pull guard, knock Lyoto down by strikes, or what is most likely: catch Machida's probing kicks.

  • R.I.P. Pride FC

  • pride was epick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • pride was epic... but a little corrupt.

  • pride 4ever...Ufc is nothing compared to what pride was...

  • damn i miss pride

  • love at 2:36 when the beat picks up and shogun does a little bit of TKD spin kick..

  • such a fun video! :)

  • Boondock is a genius when it comes to making vids like this, you can feel the emotion of the of the vid through excellent audio.

  • so basically he just used a good song?

  • but to make/edit the video fit the song perfectly isnt a very easy thing to do.

  • what song is this?

  • song is coldplay - fix you

  • damn the first clip hurts. awesome video

  • amazing!

  • Fuck man this shit is heart felt bro. Great, great vid. It shows the human side of these super heros. I miss Pride so much, man there will never be an age like this in MMA agian. Pride was something special. Dream just doesnt have the same ambience or tradition as Pride.

  • I agree with you and it sucks sooo much. Dream just doesn't have that feeling Pride did.

  • dude MMA as we know it is only 10 or so years old, how can you say "there will never be an age like this in MMA again" ?!?!

  • your very right.

  • i disagree actually. noone will ever be able to recreate the original fights the way pride did. gracies vs japan etc. itll never be the same.

  • this sport will (hopefully) be around for hundreds of years, how can you say that it'll never be as good as it is now when it'sonly been around 15 years?????

  • because look at the young new fighters coming in. their almost TOO well rounded. i doubt we'll see the same matchups as we did in pride and the early UFC.

  • Agreed, why would you want to watch 2 of the best fighters in the world fight each other when you can watch a huge missmatch, fuck GSP and Anderson Silva, we need more of Joe Son and Emmanuel Yarborough!!!

  • dude your a fuckin champ. im not even gonna get started with you. when people remember mma, what will they remember? theyll remember the gracie family. and pride. now shut the fuck up.

  • so now you can look into the future?

yes they'll remember the gracie family, so surely that will mean they remember the UFC seeing as that was started and originally won by the Gracies?

LOL youre a fucking idiot! hahahaha

  • i dont know if you know this, seeing as how your a fuckin retard and all, but the gracies fought in pride as well. and when i say the gracies that obviously includes the UFC. nice try though champ.

  • well obviosly they are gna remember the ufc n pride, what else wud they remember?

    fuckin downy

  • thats what my point was in the first place dumbfuck, look at the original argument. got a little distracted by your dads cock wavin in your face or somethin?

  • i dont tend to have thoughts about older men waving teir dicks in other peoples faces.

that's some weird fantasies you got yourself there!!!!

  • even if it were so, which it isnt, you dont deny that it was my original argument that you just agreed with. pwnd.
