  • Cool planes...absolutely terrible jungle music.

  • I liked the Blackbird. I think I'd take Be my Enemy into space.

  • Pics are great, but the music really kills it..

  • very boring still shots.. and turn off the Urban music.. jeeze man, what do colored guys have to do with fighter jets

  • The MiG 31 is frekin fast!

  • You really have to get rid of that "music"

  • You forgot SAAB J35 Draken and JA37 Viggen..

  • what happened to the tsr2?

  • That lightning is like shit off a shovel!! it still holds records to this day, BEAT THAT!!!. by far the best jet in this vid.

  • Yea... you know it... and it was in service with the RAF in 1957, not 1960.

1957 - 1988 that's 31 years active service, and still holds world records for climbing even to this day.

    The best there's ever been.

  • Airplanes own !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But umm hmm rock goes good with airplanes man lol.

  • damded rapping shit

  • ReliktBG - The MIG29OVT is a very impressive plane indeed! It would be interesting to see it and the Eurofighter in friendly combat trails.

  • Hey Quokka57, have you ever seen the Bristol 188 or the Avro 730? Now we know where the Yanks got the idea for the SR-71 Blackbird! Even the Eurofighter Typhoon is dancing rings around anything that flies. Hopefully Australia will buy them.

  • EF2000 is dancing rings around anything that flies???

    Against MiG-29OVT? Are you sure?

  • Quokka57 - Thanks! In the 80's, the F6 Lightning could still beat the F15 Eagle from a standing start up to 30,000ft. In 1984, during a major NATO exercise, Flt Lt Mike Hale intercepted an American U-2 at 88,000ft in his Lightning F3. He also articipated in time-to-height and acceleration trials against F-104 Starfighters from Aalborg. He reports that the Lightnings won all races easily with the exception of the low level supersonic acceleration, which was a "dead heat".

  • Nice, but where's the Draken and Viggen?

  • The English Electric (BAC) Lightning was the first aircraft ever to achieve "supercruise" and 40 years before the F-22. The Lightning was and still is a simply fantastic aircraft. It is a crime that the few remaining UK privately owned planes are not allowed to fly there. Thank God for Thunder City in Cape Town, SA, that keep four of these incredible planes airworthy.

  • Hear hear BGIBB. Many incredible aircraft that where light-years (no pun intended) ahead of their time don't seem to feature in this vid. That's fair enough to the author - it's what he sees as his 'cold war speed demons'. Others have a different view. I guess what irks me is that so many true 'cold war' demon aircraft have been left out. I guess it all comes down to ones definition of 'cold war'. To me, that means to 60's thru 90's aircraft that scared shit out of their opposition...

  • @bgibb101 Agree entirely. The Lightening is awesome, a real powerhouse of a machine. The ONLY Nato jet to successfully catch Concorde in a tail chase interception competition, even the F-15 failed to catch it -says something I think. Like the Vulcan, the Lightening was a tremendous feat of British engineering, pity we have to work with the Europeans these days-design by commitee etc.

  • this is a good movie i like the music goes good with it

  • one aircraft that had speed was the thud F-105

  • the f-16 goes faster than the a-5 and the the video the f-100 and the f-102 those werent a mach 2 aircraft

  • The F-102 was the first USAF jet capable to `intercept` the B-52`s (and the first supersonic in straight flight)

  • escort u mean

  • F-102 was not designed for escort (it was a point intercepor). There was an antagonism between airforce and navy that time to prove whose fighters can ``intercept`` a B-52 without staling at that altitude

  • F-100 supersabre was the first plane to go mach 1 in level flight the F-104 was the first plane to go mach 2

  • I think only NASA uses the SR-71 at least that wasn't decomissioned. The demand for better and faster during the cold war era brought about some innovative bitching planes.

  • the f-111 isnt up there the f-16 the a-5 the b-1 those had speed

  • F-111 probably should go up there along with the A-5, but the F-16 and B-1 dont go mach 2

  • @DevanC105 The B-1B wasn't a mach 2 jet, but the B-1A was. Before Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara canceled it in favor of ICMBs and SLBMs as the primary nuclear delivery system, there were a few B-1As that were built in the late 60s to early 70s. Its top speed was a little over mach 2 in cruising altitude flight.

  • You've got to be kidding me. A plane that can do Mach 2.5 "isn't up there"???. The very aircraft that sent shivers through the Eastern Bloc when it was based in England because they knew there was nothing they could do to see it, catch it, or stop it? No other plane ever built, Russian, American, or other could do what it could. And still can't. There's only a few planes even today that go close to the speed, agility and armament specs of the 'pig'. Leaving this plane out is an understatement.

  • which one r u talkin about??

  • Devan - the 'Aardvark'... 'pig'... whatever you want to call it - F-111...

  • @DevanC105 English Electric Lightning I think...

  • very nice

  • Thanks Bro

  • the SR-71 was not the fastest jet.

  • Yes it was, what the heck you talking about

  • the f-104 could fly just as fast as it (talked to a pilot) plus the f-22 can even go faster then both of them.

  • The raptor wasnt out in '82 and the Blackbirds real speed is still classified probably

  • put the F-22's thrust and put that together it goes pretty fast

  • and i'm not shitting you.

  • Yes, the MiG-25 was, and is ;)

  • no the F-22

  • Haha stupid, its not even mach 2

  • Lynx is right, the U.S. Air Force isn't much concerned about speed like it used to be. Now they focus on maneuverability

  • the F-22 can go mach 1.8 without afterburner no other fighter can do that plus the f-22 can hit over mach 3 but the YF-23 was even faster but was not as maintaner friendly.

  • Mach 3 you wish

  • I'm not lying. F-15 mach 2.6 w/24,450POT each engine and needs afterburner to go mach but the f-22 can go mach 1.8 w/o afterburner and it has 35,000 POT each engine and it is very stream line with very little drag. u put that together the F-22 can go over mach 3. the real speed has never been unclassified just mach 2 class but if u put that all together it can go over mach 3 now do u see what i'm getting at

  • Ok and how the crap do you know this??

  • somone needs to do his math.

  • Yeah right

  • Just looked at wikipedia and it says its max. speed is Mach 2, not mach 3

  • the top speed of the f-22 is classified they say its mach 2 but if u put that thrust together and look at the f-15 and its thrust the f-22 can go fast (but it won't go that fast because afterburner's waist full they might as well just go mach 1.8 without afterburners

  • Are you sure? YF-23 was modular electronic system while F-22 is integral system. Any upgrade on F-22 is much harder to be done. LM wanted to build best possible jet and they create it with integral hardware system(everything is tuned to create perfect mechanism) but there is disadvantage too. When you need to change one part you need to heavily modify whole electronic system.

P.S.3M speed would destroy RAM and then F-22 would lose its stealth.

  • yes it can hit mach 3. any way the only thing better about the yf-23 was that it was a little bit faster then teh f-22. but the f-22 could turn and do alot of stuff better

  • Maybe you heard one f-22 lost its intake RAM during takeoff procedure. They changed type of glue they used but still something is telling me that glue isnt capable to stick RAM during speeds higher then 2.5M .

If F-22 can achieve 3M speed it would lose its stealth. Also it would need to use afterburner which would be detectable by modern IRST on nice distances (45km).

I really dont see why F-22 need 3M speed.

  • Everyone knows USA tech is much more better!

  • Hey, hey, hey! Easy on the patriotism my friend, other nations had thier strengths. Especially the Russians and the British =)

  • I agree

  • ahahah funny joke

  • Did you ever see a MiG-29 or Su-27 executing "Pugachevs Cobra"? If you did you won't write stupid things...

  • this video got my crazyy :b its hot , i have those aircraft in flight simulator, what is the song called by the way??

  • speedin by rick ross

  • nice! all great planes, great pics, great song...

  • Thanks bro

  • Not really but its directly related to one if you know what im talking about

  • some of russia's jets are copies of are aircraft. the F-104 starfighter can go mach 3 ( i talked to a pilot that flew one)

  • awesome and Russia declared a new COLD WAR ON THE USA, UK, and Nato

  • Oh crap here we go again :(

  • but i know that we are going to kick there ass's with the f-22 and a couple classified fighters

  • That way be true, but you also gotta realize that russia might have something up it its sleeve. Very unlikely, but it's something think about.

  • true but i don't think so all of there newer jets failed. they don't know how to make computers for fighters

  • hi =)

  • Whats up dude, i haven't heard from u in a while!! where u been?? :)
