I've either seen this series so many times that I just have mental audio running constantly while I watch any part of this series,or, its possible that the audio from the video is running very quietly in the background.

For the first scene, the music is running alongside the dialogue, but the rest has no dialogue or background sound except for the music. You must have watched the episode a lot!

Yes, the standard soundtrack is called "The Vision of Escaflowne - Lovers Only", which you can either purchase from places like Amazon or download from Torrentz. There is also a soundtrack for the movie, which is okay but not as interesting as the series. (Sorry, I don't speak Deutsch... but your English is sehr gut, don't worry!)
