Poland belongs to the Schengen area and opened its borders on the 21/12/2007.

This means that all borders with other countries who have also implemented the Schengen agreement are open.

No passports need to be shown and you can drive straight through.

However, some make the route across their borders complicated by chicaning them with bollards, obstacles and even vehicles.

This is deliberately done to slow through traffic down as border guards can still stop and search vehicles if required.
