Terrific. This is our favorite version to watch. My son is 9 and he's working on this for the Xmas recital. I like the modification you have on your score to just do some of those staccato 8th notes with the left hand and not both. We have the official songbook and the right hand moves alot with the left. ARGH!! He's on the 6th page of 7 right now so those last crazy runs are coming up. Glad you posted. ( and your message to your parents was so poignant--I showed my hubby and I cried )

I'm learning the song right now, and I have a newfound respect for TSO and for people like you, because only after trying to play it with the CD have I realized just how hard this song is. You do it well. Sorry to pester you, but I have a few questions that I can't fit into one comment, they follow in my next. Anyway, you did a great job - I still don't even know if I'm going to enter, I may not have it good enough by the deadline. At least I get to learn this awesome song. Good for you. ^_^

In the last measure or two of the top line on the last page, did you cut out some of the notes in the chords? I couldn't tell, but it looked like you weren't playing all the notes. I'm sort of doing that, because my hand can't move fast enough to get all the chords together. And good job on the last seven measures - I'm having a really hard time with that part. ^^ (And I still can't fit it all into one comment!)

Also, are some of the clefs wrong on your music? Parts are labeled with a treble clef that I think ought to be a bass clef (the bottom of the fourth page and the top of the fifth), otherwise the notes sound funny. Did you change yours? I also altered the notes in the second measure of the last line of the fifth page - I thought they were supposed to be the same as the rest of that phrase. Did you do that too, or was it just me? Again, sorry to bother you.

The bottom of 4th and top of 5th I was in treble except for measure 77, I think that's the only one I switched. I left out some of clef in measures 55 & 56 because I couldn't turn the page unless I had a free hand :) I didn't alter the music to make it sound better, I altered to be able to play it as best I could. I you don't bother me. :)

Yes, I cut out some of the chords in measures 92-94 because I wasn't able to learn them. I missunderstood the entry rules and thought all videos had to be posted by 9-15, and I also thought no one would be able to rate my video after 9-15, so I hurried learning the song so I could post it early so I could get as many ratings as possible in those few days. I wish I could've learned those though...
