  • "The Ballad of Boot Hill" was written by Carl Perkins in 1959. He also wrote the no. 1 hit "Daddy Sang Bass" for Johnny Cash in 1968. Carl Perkins' biggest hit was "Blue Suede Shoes" released in 1956 on Sun Records. The Beatles recorded almost his entire Sun output, including "Honey Don't", "Matchbox", "Everybody's Trying to be My Baby", "Glad All Over", "Lend Me Your Comb", and "Sure to Fall". He was part of the Million Dollar Quartet with Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, and Jerry Lee Lewis.
