  • Sounds good!

  • ppl get to violent behind a computer moniter lol you guys wouldnt be talking the same face to face so eather shut up or meet somewere lol... its simple let him post his shit if you dont like it dont watch it that simple

  • I'm pretty sure what the guy said was 'stock LS1'! As in stock internals in the motor idiot! Which does not include the exhaust!

  • That's way too loose for my liking.

  • Yeah i dont think i could live with this converter gotta rev wayyy too high to move.

  • Doesn't anybody know you are suppose to match up he converter to the cam that is in your car, plus where your torque is made. All i see is people throwing in high stall converters to burn more gas. If you are going to throw in a converter that stalls at 4k then you better have a wicked engine combo that makes peak torque up high.

  • @Chevymonster203 don't you know the flash point is not the only thing to consider when choosing aconverter. You must not know I added a cam the next summer.

  • @Chevymonster203 stock LS1 with a 4k stall will run a 11 sec 1/4.....I'd rather have a high stall first, then go big on the cam later......some people can;t afford to do all at once. A 4k stall on a old 350 would be a waste, but the ls1 has a lot od top end stock...

  • @bizzlesnatch

hey bird snatch..... 11sec with only a 4k stall? your out of your mind and living in a fantasy world.

  • @y4utalktome Did I mean ONLY a 4K stall,no, I meant a STOCK LS1 that puts down 317 to the wheel with headers and slp air lid ( bolt-ons) and the car will run 11's.How do I know this?, Maybe its because I did it....mine was only a 2800 stall and 245 tires ran 11.89..in my videos..what videos do you have? My buddy did the ss4000 and ran a 11.74 @ 113 with a 1.54 60' on stock suspention, headers, and plastic air lid..learn more about drag racing before posting stupid comments.

  • @bizzlesnatch

Yes you did say STOCK ls1.

You should get YOUR facts straight before posting crap info. I was drag racing before you were even a fluff in your dads nuts! I don't need to advertise my cars.

Do you know what a stock motor/car is? It means factory stock as in no mods what so ever. What you should have said was mildly modded with a stock bottom end? That would make more sense.

  • @y4utalktome You have been drag racing that long, and still don't know what a ls1 can do, not just stock bottom end...stock heads, STOCK cam, stock intake manifold, cam still run bottom 12's high 11's.......I bet if you put this converter in a BONE stock LS1 car it would still run sub 12.4's....I'm sorry you are old and narrow minded, not to mention uneducated with todays motors and converters.....

  • @bizzlesnatch

    Not that long!

You said STOCK. Do you know what stock means?????????

Holy, for fuck sakes, an ls1 will not run12 in stock form!!!!!! NO MATTER WHAT. if you change the factory tires, the car is no longer stock!!!!!!!! With stall tires and a bit of tuning, yes it will run 12's but not stock as in out of the box with only a 4k stall.

  • @y4utalktome yes it can..........dumbass

  • @y4utalktome You forget altitude. He doesn't live in the same area as you. He could be at sea level where you could be 3000 ft above. i too have seen ls1's run mid to high 12's in stock form, Driver being the only mod of course.

  • @Chevymonster203 Not really true on ls1's. I wouldn't go as high as 4000, but I have a 3400 and it is perfect. I am glad that I didn't go any higher though. Almost wish I went with the 3200 cuz there is not traction anymore. Geting some dr's, but I still don't know if they will hook

  • @Chevymonster203 stock internal ls1s with pick up anywhere from 4/10s to 1/2 second in 1/4 mile with 3600 stall. good one

  • Probably the only good video with a good camera and view and pov.

  • @ManRossDamn

Check out my 0-100 run with my new cam.

  • Is your car still running good with that 4000 stall in it? Any problems out of your transmission?

  • @1mesterious

The transmission was rebuilt with a good rebuild kit by a reputable, local mechanic that likes to drag race. He rebuilt it last year when I put this converter in. Since then I had one issue. The pressure solenoid burnt up and it needed to be replaced. Reason being, the valve body has 110k miles on it and wasn't replaced in the rebuild.

This year I've added a cam and it hasn't skipped a beat. Be ready for a rebuild just incase. That's what I did.

  • I have the same problem

  • im a noob, what is the point of a stall converter?

  • It quickly brings the RPMs into the power band and can dramatically increase your speed or ET at the race track.

  • If you went with a 3.73 rear gearing and a trick flow girdle it would compliment that stall oh so nice.

  • Hmmm, I wonder why I keep seeing 2.73's on camaros, and 3.23's on firebirds?

  • @tarkuk because there different cars

  • Is that a stock 3.23 gear?

  • Stock 2.73 gearing

  • Comment removed

  • Nice car. What do you run in the 1/4 mile? (Or 1/8th)

And would you recommend getting a stall if you are getting a new cam installed? Because I have heard from alot of people with new cams that you need one. Is this true?

  • I'm running a Yank PT 4000 and getting some pretty good 60's. I love these converters but I spray so it's only a matter of time before I lose the lock up. But on motor, it's hard to beat a Yank! Nice car BTW!

  • Thanks. I've heard good things about the SS on spray, so i'll find out sooner or later.

  • was this run on nitrous?

  • @1flynlow lol no, just headers, exhaust and the stall

  • shit for all that money you could have bought a really nice supercharger and some, puting the hp to around 425, still a great car though

  • Yes, but the transmission would not hold so I had to upgrade that anyways. The cooler is just for insurance on the transmission. The headers and exhaust, tires, would do nothing but help in case i do supercharger it.

All the mods I've done will benefit a supercharger if I decide to do that.

Cars are not cheap if you want to go fast.

  • damn thanks, do you know how much horsepower it has

  • The torque converter eats up a lot of power, and basically translates it into more torque.

Last time I dynoed it, it made 334 hp and 340 torque to the rear wheels. Which is almost 400 at the fly wheel.

I've added a few mods since then. So I'd hope for a bit more than that. I also plan on a cam swap which should put me over 400 hp to the wheels in the spring.

  • how much money did this cost for all those aftermarket parts?

  • I rebuilt the transmission but not necessary- 1200

    Transmission cooler - 80

The SS 4000 converter is about - 750

Long Tube headers - 700 but can be found used cheaper

    Magnaflow exhaust - about 3-400

The cutout with motor is about - 200

the drag radials about - 350

I did all the work myself, so i saved A LOT of money

  • Bad Ass Sounding and fast!
