put it back on, change the default browser forwards to your preferred browser, and then shut ie off.

turning it off is not the same as removing it pal. what you need to do is go into your x86 directory, right click on "Internet Explorer", change the properties to allow you as an admin to remove the file completely. that is how you remove IE.

I can't find Internet Explorer on the list in Uninstall Updates.

@jawwwden i wouldn't suggest fully getting rid of IE because that could mess up your computer this is the best way to get rid of it without getting rid of it

Actually the method described in the video does not uninstall Internet Explorer it just disables it. But I myself would like to uninstall IE completely from my Windows 7 laptop as I never use it. But from what I have read on-line you cannot do this as Windows will not work anymore. I don't understand why Windows is not just bundled with Firefox instead of IE and why we can not just uninstall IE the same way we can with other unwanted browsers in uninstall a program index. @andrea22borman IE gets into your computer files... its a way of advertising in a sense, so you update and get all that damn firewall crap you need with IE, its a way for them to weasel into your computer without you knowing about it, thats why they dont want you to get rid of it. Firefox was made by hackers so then they cant get into your files.
