I've finally started watching Battlestar Galactica a few weeks ago, and I've just finished watching this episode. Cried for a long time. Poor Gaeta.

Although these BSGcast videos are pretty old, I really love watching them after I've seen an episode.

I can't be the only person who was PRAYING that Gaeta would succeed. The Adamas - sr and jr - are unspeakably obnoxious and pompous. Starbuck is an pathetic cardboard cut-out of a character. Yawn. The XO seems to have about three lines, which he repeats ad nauseam throughout the four seasons. And the president. Well, thank God(s) for cancer, is all I can say. If only it was more virulent.

You're totally wrong about Gaeta. He did this out of a delusion of righteousness. What he was really trying to do was rid himself of the guilt he had for collaberating with the cylons. He was conscious of his actions when he took them on New Caprica. Acting in the most self-serving manner of all characters other than Gauis Baltar. He didn't want to be compared to Baltar, so he did this. To make himself feel better.

Gaius new this, and felt partly responsible for corrupting Gaeta as he did.

Gaeta served himself first and the Fleet second. Gaeta has never taken a completely selfless action during the course of this show. In any scene where he's forced to make a choice that puts himself at risk in the LEAST, Gaeta switches sides. He's a turncoat. A narcissist who didn't want the label of traitor. These are traits observing Baltar awakened within him. He always had the potential for this.

Watch ep 1-5. If Tigh suggested mutiny in that sitch, Gaeta would turned. hes slippery.

Okay try this on for size, Adama is the 13th the one the 5 prayed to, he is the embidoment the father, he does not know, but his chest pains have coincided with shots of Galactica wear and tear

I think Adama is losing heart and spirit and so is Galactica which is tied to him

Dont buy it "the 5th still in hiding, will crawl towards the light, looking for redemption that will only come in the howl of terrible suffering", how does that apply to Ellen?. Don't be surprised with a show that tends to mislead and break it's own rules, that there quite possibly could be 13 Cylons! one the others aren't even aware of. That would also make sense for all the webisodes and valuable episode time that Gaeta has gotten, it doesnt quite fit that he would just end up dead like this.

Gaeta and Zarek are dead. Just because they died in an erratic way doesnt mean there's a master plan to bring them back, they took a risk and paid the price. That's life. The series does not contradict itself for the sake of the shock of the new.

That scene before Gaeta was about to die was amazing and you really feel for the character. What a turn around in the way that the audience feels about him in these two episodes! I was so sad when he died!

BSG cast is just plain awesome. Its a shame that BSG is coming to an end! But better end it soon with an awesome story line then later with a boring one!

After the whole Bionic Woman disaster from last year, I plan on keeping my expectations of Caprica as low as possible. I hope to be proven wrong but I am not above saying I told you so.

And I must also agree with thedude3389 that I will miss BSG Cast almost as much as the actual show. You guys are amazing and so fun to listen to.
