I have diablo 2 on disc and it wont run on my vista computer so i want 2 try to install to on a windows 98 vm when i put in the disc nothing appears in my E drive.Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this to work? Thanks

I got VMWare Workstation 7 too and when i 'make' a Virtual Machine, it does appear in windows explorer and stuff, but not in Workstation itself. Also can't open de VM or anything. Just sucks, anybody an idea to fix this? I googled the issue but can't find a solution ;/

Running windows I can get atleast 60FPS on the games that I have now, and with special settings, 14 FPS on CoD4...

Will the framerate be about the same if I spend money on this program?

What is your hardware configuration?

I managed to get Win98SE running, even with sound but I have a problem with the game itself. Tried playing with the accelerated graphics setting in the display of vm and the game does not start (a black choppy screen with with some shadows of the desktop). When I turn the acceleration of, the game starts, the menu works great, but the game play suck, works fine for 2 seconds and then it freezes for another five and so on.

Would appreciate any help.

@kuraw69 I have the same problem, I can run the game perfectly on win98se on virtual machine 2007, but with the acelerated graphics it get a black screen even with the 3Dfx emulator.

I got one thing straight , win 98se does not support dx3d acceleration. And the game itself works bad because of that. I managed to get hold of a copy of win2000 and dx3d acceleration work great but the game crashes at the and of any race. the system seems to freeze, there a black screen and the ctrl+alt+ins method of showing the process manager does not work.

I would aprreciate any input in this matter.

Actually VMWare workstation is good, but I prefer VirtualBox. It has more OS support (custom OS's allowed) and it is completely free(YAY!).

I actually had no problem with virtualbox, aside from the fact that I couldn't get Windows7's Aero theme to work, and I had to tweak it for Linux to run perfectly with Compiz Fuzion I think they spell it. ^_^

VMWare Player worked when I was trying to simulate dual booting Win7, and Ubuntu though. Only issue I had was, if I wanted to boot Ubuntu, I had to switch it to Linux, and I have to do the same with Windows. Kinda annoying, but it did what I wanted to test regardless. =3
