@stepxunit: Short of surgery and direct pressure, CPR(specifically chest compressions in the clip) is pretty much all that can be done in that situation. It will cause her to lose more blood, but the aim is to at least try to get some blood to the brain., something that wouldn't happen otherwise.

Keanu is great when he has to perform anger or intense scenes, when he goes toe to toe with Pacino he is excellant.

Since she had only cut one artery on the left, the compression should have beeen applied to the deep artery on the bottom half of the neck, stoping the blood flow.

Death accurs in 2 minutes, 1 minute if both sides are cut. With copression the time can be extended to several hours.

@beetheb I agree, this is Keanu Reeves best acting role ever IMO, the only movie he was in where his acting was just as powerful was The Gift. Why is this film so underrated? Films like this, Angel Heart, Storm of the Century, even flicks like End of Days where Arnold had his BEST acting performance as well. Fallen, the same for Denzel, in there, one of many. Freeman & Pitt in Seven, Kevin Spacey in Usual Suspects, Rourke & DeNiro in Angel Heart. Why are these such underrated films?
