I first heard of Ata Kak from his track "Obaa Sima" on the K7 'Afrique Collection' and I fell in love with the track, this one is very similar but even more bouncy and joyfully funky...the only rip I have seen on the net of the Obaa Sima cassette which also has this track is the wonderful Awesome Tapes From Africa blog

(just google "Ata Kak" and "blogspot" (should come up first) I really want to release the tape on CD so if anyone knows where I can get a copy please get in touch.

I totally agree with you Qvaris, this version is of such a higher quality than the wonderful awesometapesfromafrica post of the Ata Kak tape (its a real shame its only 3 minutes as opposed to the 6 minute full version but thats videos for you). Meudiademorte, if you have a better quality version of the Ata Kak tape please get in touch, I would love to re-release the tape on CD.

This shows how closed the intercontinental market is (and our minds are) when it comes to non western music. There is no way any european would have done funky music like this without being noticed. These guys Ata kak ie. have potential. at least electronic music could get a wider variation as a genre.
