  • I believe ,this does not work if the pawn is on the bishop file. the king can go into the corner squares and force stalemate

  • @MrTigershark01 You are correct. A Bishop Pawn on the seventh rank draws, as does a Rook Pawn on the seventh. Unless, that is, the White King is close enough to force a mate. But that's a lesson for another time. :-)

  • Oh!!! I see, I see, great technique.

  • Why didn't you just take the queen with the pawn at 2:30

  • @SuperTmast1 Thanks for the question! The pawn is going the other way. So the next move the pawn wants to make is to go from e2 to e1 ... if he gets the chance.

  • The BLACK KING returned to E1, isn't that DRAW? And, why didn't the queen just directly go down the G file into G2, rather than zigzagging down from 1:06 to 2:27? Other than that, thanks for the amazing review! do u have a stuffy nose? lol

  • @TheLorax11 The game is a draw only if the position is repeated three times or the Black King is stalemated. Neither of those conditions occur. For the repetition of position, ALL the pieces have to be in the same position three times. Regarding the g2 square, the Black King guards that square from 1:06 to 2:27, so moving the Queen to g2 during that time would end in a loss for White.

    I don't remember Christmas 2008 ... but I think I was relatively healthy. That's just my normal voice :-)

  • glad to see some ending strats like this

  • @MultiYawn Thanks very much! :-)
