I feel like this was one of the more obvious stunts. If you were pulled that lightly do you think your leg would fly out in front of you EVERY time and that only your left hand would fly out? More likely he'd stumble back a little, be realistically confused and both hands would be searching his back for what happened. That and he wouldn't be playing pocket pool on live tv. There's def. something to control the hood.
The biggest thing to me is if something pulled on you hard enough to step back you would put out both hands to balance yourself, and also, in the normal episode when someone is having an experience everyone stops to focus on the energy and the events going on in that moment. Here they all just sorta shurg it off and don't investigate it much. I love this show and I don't believe that it is all fake, this instance must have been a publicity stunt incase there was no findings... :(

If they avoided getting greedy with the effect, and Grant was more subtle rather then acting like a child trying to scare his friends this would be slightly more debatable. As it stands now this live show was a disaster that will highly reduce the number of skeptics who give the show a chance.
I remember watching this and I thought it didn't look right I remember I kept replaying the scene and you could see he kept putting his hand in his pocket right before each tug...totally fake!! I know it's tv but they act and say it's real!

okay I have not watched the entire video so I dont know if this addresses, but has anyone noticed when Grant finally takes his Right hand out to check out his collar he pulls his arm straight out and I swear, I SWEAR YOU HEAR something being pulled from the collar and you can ever so slightly see something come out?? I think some things may be faked but maybe not to the knowledge of the GH crew. SyFy wants ratings and will probably go to any measures to get them. As far as the coat pull yes it could have been faked and I admit it looks a bit off but to be honest anyone in the world could put up a video saying they caught a ghost and there will be many people who will comment on it giving a reason as to why it's fake, even if it really is something that happened.
I think the live ones are fake because they cant rely on tons of things of happening in one night when a lot of people are watching. So they fake things to keep us intrested in the show, But the hour long ones on regular I think those are real
Also notice in the second event that Jason looks directly at Grant's right hand as soon as he turns around....that's when he really starts acting like he wants nothing to do with it. Which doesn't mean he's innocent, he knew where to look..he probably just realized how bad a job Grant was doing with pulling the stunt off.
Your comment about Jay wanting nothing to do with whatever is going on with Grant I also noticed in the "evp" section where the audible voice says something like "you don't belong here". I know GH and GHI have been on for years but I never watched it. I got caught up in it about 3 weeks ago and have been watching all the episodes I could my paws on I had been enjoying and thought it was a sincere investigation each and every time. Seeing this and other videos of the sort now I'm far from sure. I'd never seen this particular episode before but this is some terrible acting. That mixed with the analysis I haveto agree and can no longer trust the authenticity of this once fine show.
Grant is a piece of crap. Notice he doesnt check to see if Baldy yanked on his collar. Its because he is doing it and is looking around like a ghost did it.

The show got...rapidly less and less credible as time went on--I still have a lot of respect for Grant and Jay, but this....is unarguably damning.
Whether they were pressured by their producers, or whether it started as a "just this once" kind of thing and then gradually got out of hand as expectations got higher--I can understnd otherwise very honest people being slowly lulled into hoaxing. Understand, not condone, of course.

Notice after the 3rd tug (3:20) how Jason immediately runs to the thermal cam to review the tug. Question is, how did Jason know to check the thermal? Jason walked away from the situation at 2:49 and wouldn't have known the thermal cam would be trained on the collar. Jason had to of known ahead of time to check the thermal for review. Why else would he make a bee-line for the thermal?
But at 3:00 the guy holding the thermal says to Grant "im going to put the thermal on your back, and see if it picks anything up,"so Jason must of herd him say that, and that's why he went strait for the thermal cam. See ya gotta think of these things.

She's an adult, who signed a contract. It was her responsibility to watch out for her own interest, and as she had prior dealings with the television business, she certainly should have been more aware of how they constantly will try to rake everyone over the coals for every last penny that they can. Jason/Grant were under contracts as well. Did she expect them to place themselves in an actionable position to get sued by the production, and place their families in financial trouble? Why?
Yes u have some good points mate,and i agree with you,but the camera dosnt lie, but i strongly believe taps dose,entertainment sure easy way out isnt it,BUT when taps puts it out there that there genuine and honest , only to find out there not,well its kinda a kick in the teeth for the fans,me being one of them,i have not watched this show since 2008 halloween,that was the turning point. i believe shes telling the truth ,and after all the other evidence against them.
Oh, I completely agree with you on that, 208. They faked evidence, I am convinced of it. And it was a real blow to us fans. I understand that it's ultimately entertainment, but they were wrong to state that they were honest and were just looking for proof like the rest of us, and then pull this garbage. They lied to us all. I'm guessing that they were pressured. Maybe they even had no choice. I try to be objective, and remind myself that we don't know what's going on behind the scenes.
The only comfort that I get is that it seems, to me at least, like Jason was not happy about what they were doing. He went along with it, but really didn't try to make it convincing. It almost seemed that he was leaving bread crumbs, begging the viewers to figure it out. Grant was the one trying to really sell it. But then I think, if they did -have- to do it, under their contracts and for the network, maybe he took one for the team. Remember, they have friends and family relying on this show.

I recently saw this episode for the first time. Immediately upon watching it I thought of a common street magician. I agree with every detail that you pointed out here, and noticed a few others, as well. When Grant is seen through the thermal, his face appears very inflamed. It seems to me as if he's flustered, possibly because he is nervous about having to convincingly pull this trick off. Secondly,

This was a very disappointing episode to watch. I'm a long-time fan of TAPS, and this has certainly changed the way that I look at any of their "investigations". I understand that there are pressures, and I am not assuming that they were pleased to fake these findings, but I do not think that they should have lowered themselves to this level.
I think the poster has brought up some well thought out points for us to ponder. I have weighed this against the dozens of TAPS investigations where they either spent all night with nothing Paranormal to report or auctually debunking claims. FYI, they debunked the Moss Beach Distillery! They had no hesitation in busting those "ghosts"; and the business that has used these outright deception to market it's hauntings for decades! So, I am coming down on the side of TAPS on this one. Be vigilant!

I think they've been forthright so far. I mean, how many episodes of GH have we seen where nothing has happened? Entire episodes of nothing, no ghosts. Would they do that if they were fakes? Maybe the network is just pressuring for ratings now and they have to resort to gags.

Like the sounds and everything through editing e.c.t. and notice how the camera is either avoiding something when they see it, then the camera turns to it like 1-2 seconds later Or when the get pulled or pushed its always on them sometimes like at a side. If you watch carefully, you will see the only thing going out and away are his shoulders. At 5:20 it is replayed in slow motion and you will see it is his shoulders going back while his collar follows his spine down. Excellent analysis. The 'dominant hand' analysis is very telling. Especially in times of stress or without thinking, people consistently resort to the use of their dominant hand. Straight up brain behavior relationships....and why did his right hand remain hidden by his side when this occurred.

The first time you can CLEARLY see the collar being tugged, second time happen 2 quick and the third time again you can CLEARLY see it get tugged. There is NOTHING hooked 2 it on the outside which it gets pulled down on the OUTSIDE and you can tell it don't get pulled towards the neck rulling out a string or something he can pull 2 cause that.

As I said before, this is an example of staging. The jacket pulling is completely fake as we all know. Jason is completely uncomfortable with the situation. But as a videographer in the past, there are apparent clues to anyone that has shot video for entertainment. Keep the camera on the subject. There is a randomness to the camera movement until just before the first pull occurs. As if the cameraman knew that he had to stay on Grant. This staging occurs in all the episodes if you watch closely

Excellent analysis. Thought I am more a skeptic than a beleiver, I actually found these two guys pretty likeable. I really didn't want them to be total frauds. Sadly, the CLEAR EVIDENCE indicates that they are just that.
Well, it's a great theory and all, but pay closer attention. His collar pulls out and down. Pulling on the bottom of his coat would not cause the collar to pull out and down. Try it. I did several time (with my wife watching closely...she's also not a big fan of the show) and each time I tugged on the jacket, the collar pulled back against my neck...not out and down.

It seems like the poster of this "evidence" is following a psychological rule referred to as the "one and" heuristic. This states that people tend to focus on a small amount of evidence that points to a conclusion they desire, instead of the massive amount of evidence against it.
Some people may think this footage is faked, which is entirely possible... but considering the hours and hours of activity that cant be explained, you may want to consider the possibility that it isnt.
Both the covers being pulled from Grant's feet and especially the shadow up in the light house are great pieces of footage. However these weren't taken during a "Live" event where there may have been some 'pressure to perform'... Thanks for your comments...
They didn't feel any pressure to perform live when they did the show the previous year or the year before that. The revisit to the Stanley Hotel on '06 turned up pretty much nothing at all and there was pretty much no live action.
But the showcase usually isn't the evidence itself. It's the interactions the crew have with one another. Why do you think they always bring "guest hunters" along on the live shows?
Just because you can fake the pulling of the coat doesn't mean they did that! How do ya explain all the other things, like that shadow up in the lighthouse that didn't trip the motion light? If you notice right at the end of your video where Jason is fixing his collar and pats him on the back..when they are about to leave the frame...notice the 2nd pat on his back, then you see the collar go down, then notice right before they leave the frame, right when you see the collar go down notice inside his jacket on the right you'll see a downward tension type of pulling around the shoulder and notice his hand goes back inside the right coat pocket!
At the verrrrry end of all of it he does fix his collar with his right hand. And Jason was acting odd and honestly when I ghost hunt with my friend he is such a stupid damn idiot and pretends like so many things happen that I act EXACTLY like Jason and just kinda ignore it or tell him to shut up.
In the beginning...integrity was key. Only absolute irrefutable evidence was allowed. Things many considered very good was scoffed by Jason & dismissed by Grant. Fame and fortune more often than not lure celebrities to cave. Musicians/Bands, Actors, Models, etc. Too many people feed off of their success & they "brainwash" them into believing it's okay to break the rules "just this once". It's sad they too, fell prey. I would forgive them if they would take the high road, fess up & start anew.
i think that the sci fi channel put them up to it, but if u notice the last tug was harder and actually had a hand indention on it. so i dont think the third time was fake. and i noticed grants face each time wasnt really scared or shocked but the last time it was.
After Jason pats Grant on the back & his collar drops down all on its own, this is what really convinced me that the whole thing was a fraud. I love Ghost Hunters & I want to believe that everything they show us is real paranormal activity, but sadly I'm starting to see the light. :(

i have been a fan of Ghost Hunters since it started. i do think this is a fake but i feel scifi but them up to it. with the show being live, i feel they wanted it to be more "exciting," was it right, not at all. ill still watch and support the show

You may have missed something beginning at 7:31 Grant CLEARLY pulls something out of the collar area before Jason (who was the one inspecting the thermal camera) checks out his collar. You can hear a whipping sound also when Grant does it, I have it on HD DVR but do not know how to upload it, send me a message if you need it and can help me to do it. I agree, Jason wants NOTHING to do with this, he's irritated at Grant. They have nerve calling people haters. Good job btw.

I feel like this was one of the more obvious stunts. If you were pulled that lightly do you think your leg would fly out in front of you EVERY time and that only your left hand would fly out? More likely he'd stumble back a little, be realistically confused and both hands would be searching his back for what happened. That and he wouldn't be playing pocket pool on live tv. There's def. something to control the hood.

The biggest thing to me is if something pulled on you hard enough to step back you would put out both hands to balance yourself, and also, in the normal episode when someone is having an experience everyone stops to focus on the energy and the events going on in that moment. Here they all just sorta shurg it off and don't investigate it much. I love this show and I don't believe that it is all fake, this instance must have been a publicity stunt incase there was no findings... :(

If they avoided getting greedy with the effect, and Grant was more subtle rather then acting like a child trying to scare his friends this would be slightly more debatable. As it stands now this live show was a disaster that will highly reduce the number of skeptics who give the show a chance.

I think some things may be faked but maybe not to the knowledge of the GH crew. SyFy wants ratings and will probably go to any measures to get them. As far as the coat pull yes it could have been faked and I admit it looks a bit off but to be honest anyone in the world could put up a video saying they caught a ghost and there will be many people who will comment on it giving a reason as to why it's fake, even if it really is something that happened.

Also notice in the second event that Jason looks directly at Grant's right hand as soon as he turns around....that's when he really starts acting like he wants nothing to do with it. Which doesn't mean he's innocent, he knew where to look..he probably just realized how bad a job Grant was doing with pulling the stunt off.

I know GH and GHI have been on for years but I never watched it. I got caught up in it about 3 weeks ago and have been watching all the episodes I could my paws on I had been enjoying and thought it was a sincere investigation each and every time. Seeing this and other videos of the sort now I'm far from sure. I'd never seen this particular episode before but this is some terrible acting. That mixed with the analysis I haveto agree and can no longer trust the authenticity of this once fine show.

The show got...rapidly less and less credible as time went on--I still have a lot of respect for Grant and Jay, but this....is unarguably damning.
Whether they were pressured by their producers, or whether it started as a "just this once" kind of thing and then gradually got out of hand as expectations got higher--I can understnd otherwise very honest people being slowly lulled into hoaxing. Understand, not condone, of course.
Their current hiatus is prolly to get their heads back together

Notice after the 3rd tug (3:20) how Jason immediately runs to the thermal cam to review the tug. Question is, how did Jason know to check the thermal? Jason walked away from the situation at 2:49 and wouldn't have known the thermal cam would be trained on the collar. Jason had to of known ahead of time to check the thermal for review. Why else would he make a bee-line for the thermal?

She's an adult, who signed a contract. It was her responsibility to watch out for her own interest, and as she had prior dealings with the television business, she certainly should have been more aware of how they constantly will try to rake everyone over the coals for every last penny that they can. Jason/Grant were under contracts as well. Did she expect them to place themselves in an actionable position to get sued by the production, and place their families in financial trouble? Why?

Oh, I completely agree with you on that, 208. They faked evidence, I am convinced of it. And it was a real blow to us fans. I understand that it's ultimately entertainment, but they were wrong to state that they were honest and were just looking for proof like the rest of us, and then pull this garbage. They lied to us all. I'm guessing that they were pressured. Maybe they even had no choice. I try to be objective, and remind myself that we don't know what's going on behind the scenes.

The only comfort that I get is that it seems, to me at least, like Jason was not happy about what they were doing. He went along with it, but really didn't try to make it convincing. It almost seemed that he was leaving bread crumbs, begging the viewers to figure it out. Grant was the one trying to really sell it. But then I think, if they did -have- to do it, under their contracts and for the network, maybe he took one for the team. Remember, they have friends and family relying on this show.

This was a very disappointing episode to watch. I'm a long-time fan of TAPS, and this has certainly changed the way that I look at any of their "investigations". I understand that there are pressures, and I am not assuming that they were pleased to fake these findings, but I do not think that they should have lowered themselves to this level.

I think the poster has brought up some well thought out points for us to ponder. I have weighed this against the dozens of TAPS investigations where they either spent all night with nothing Paranormal to report or auctually debunking claims. FYI, they debunked the Moss Beach Distillery! They had no hesitation in busting those "ghosts"; and the business that has used these outright deception to market it's hauntings for decades! So, I am coming down on the side of TAPS on this one. Be vigilant!

Finally! A decent and reasonable effort at debunking the debunkers. Very odd how his right hand doesn't leave his jacket pocket during this 'jacket tug' event. I'm leaning toward the 'staged' conclusion, which disappoints me. I want to say it was the network urging them to do this. Still, credibility is lost if it was faked. If you watch carefully, you will see the only thing going out and away are his shoulders. At 5:20 it is replayed in slow motion and you will see it is his shoulders going back while his collar follows his spine down. Excellent analysis. The 'dominant hand' analysis is very telling. Especially in times of stress or without thinking, people consistently resort to the use of their dominant hand. Straight up brain behavior relationships....and why did his right hand remain hidden by his side when this occurred.
Also, why didn't Grant remove his coat completely when trying to debunk, and only let Jason look down the back of his shirt? Seems like a lame attempt at debunking to me.

The first time you can CLEARLY see the collar being tugged, second time happen 2 quick and the third time again you can CLEARLY see it get tugged. There is NOTHING hooked 2 it on the outside which it gets pulled down on the OUTSIDE and you can tell it don't get pulled towards the neck rulling out a string or something he can pull 2 cause that.

As I said before, this is an example of staging. The jacket pulling is completely fake as we all know. Jason is completely uncomfortable with the situation. But as a videographer in the past, there are apparent clues to anyone that has shot video for entertainment. Keep the camera on the subject. There is a randomness to the camera movement until just before the first pull occurs. As if the cameraman knew that he had to stay on Grant. This staging occurs in all the episodes if you watch closely

Yes, if rating fall, the show will be cancelled, and they won't get as big of a paycheck. Excellent analysis. Thought I am more a skeptic than a beleiver, I actually found these two guys pretty likeable. I really didn't want them to be total frauds. Sadly, the CLEAR EVIDENCE indicates that they are just that.

Well, it's a great theory and all, but pay closer attention. His collar pulls out and down. Pulling on the bottom of his coat would not cause the collar to pull out and down. Try it. I did several time (with my wife watching closely...she's also not a big fan of the show) and each time I tugged on the jacket, the collar pulled back against my neck...not out and down.

The people voting this video down and making defensive comments are in denial because you want to believe the bullshit you see on TV. Blurry videos, noises, and guys who are scared of their own shadows are not evidence of ghosts.

It seems like the poster of this "evidence" is following a psychological rule referred to as the "one and" heuristic. This states that people tend to focus on a small amount of evidence that points to a conclusion they desire, instead of the massive amount of evidence against it.
Some people may think this footage is faked, which is entirely possible... but considering the hours and hours of activity that cant be explained, you may want to consider the possibility that it isnt.

Both the covers being pulled from Grant's feet and especially the shadow up in the light house are great pieces of footage. However these weren't taken during a "Live" event where there may have been some 'pressure to perform'... Thanks for your comments...

They didn't feel any pressure to perform live when they did the show the previous year or the year before that. The revisit to the Stanley Hotel on '06 turned up pretty much nothing at all and there was pretty much no live action.

Just because you can fake the pulling of the coat doesn't mean they did that! How do ya explain all the other things, like that shadow up in the lighthouse that didn't trip the motion light? Why would they fake just e few stupid things and have some great images caught? What's there to gain? That's why I think they are not fake.

the OP here has an open mind which is good but most of these vid' are started by skeptics looking for a modern day with hunt so be just as cautious of them as you surf this site.

TO THE CREATOR OF THIS VIDEO.
If you notice right at the end of your video where Jason is fixing his collar and pats him on the back..when they are about to leave the frame...notice the 2nd pat on his back, then you see the collar go down, then notice right before they leave the frame, right when you see the collar go down notice inside his jacket on the right you'll see a downward tension type of pulling around the shoulder and notice his hand goes back inside the right coat pocket!

At the verrrrry end of all of it he does fix his collar with his right hand. And Jason was acting odd and honestly when I ghost hunt with my friend he is such a stupid damn idiot and pretends like so many things happen that I act EXACTLY like Jason and just kinda ignore it or tell him to shut up.

In the beginning...integrity was key. Only absolute irrefutable evidence was allowed. Things many considered very good was scoffed by Jason & dismissed by Grant. Fame and fortune more often than not lure celebrities to cave. Musicians/Bands, Actors, Models, etc. Too many people feed off of their success & they "brainwash" them into believing it's okay to break the rules "just this once". It's sad they too, fell prey. I would forgive them if they would take the high road, fess up & start anew.

i think that the sci fi channel put them up to it, but if u notice the last tug was harder and actually had a hand indention on it. so i dont think the third time was fake. and i noticed grants face each time wasnt really scared or shocked but the last time it was.

1. Most people that think this is fake are or were huge fans of GH.

After Jason pats Grant on the back & his collar drops down all on its own, this is what really convinced me that the whole thing was a fraud. I love Ghost Hunters & I want to believe that everything they show us is real paranormal activity, but sadly I'm starting to see the light. :(

I have no clue what could have pulled his jacket...but like for the EVP you can also supose the voices were prerecorded and being played at the right place and the right time...so the idea is rather than speculate... try it at home and see if ya got some response...

i have been a fan of Ghost Hunters since it started. i do think this is a fake but i feel scifi but them up to it. with the show being live, i feel they wanted it to be more "exciting," was it right, not at all. ill still watch and support the show

Fine, if you say you live down the street from these guys then who am I to argue that fact. However, if they did fake this investigation then that would be pretty shitty on their part. I would've been nice if Jason and Grant had came clean with this if it was a Halloween Prank. And, for your information about my "talking shit," I don't. I am a fan, but I don't hold TAPS so high that I would like, defend them to the ground, but I will stand by their record for being honest.

Oh, and if people REALLY wanna get cocky here then let me tell you EXACTLY who I am. I am a hardcore TAPS fan who also commented on their Myspace blogs concerning this very video. If anyone CHOOSES to judge TAPS before reading their blogs then I'd say that NONE of you are true blue fans. However, if I thought for a second TAPS did fake their investigation then I wouldn't be a fan anymore, but I am not narrow minded where I'd just stop being a fan because I "heard" they faked one investigation.

You can totally tell from the moment the show started that Jason was not happy. Also just listen to the whole show.. he makes comments to Grant all night about Grant being easy and a push over. And he makes himself leave the areas just before something is about to happen. And that guy holding the thermal.. Dont you think he would have been just a little freaked out? He doesnt even looked surprised. Just stands there.. I would be like WHAT HE F***? at the least!! I am just sad about it all.

I respect your opinion, but man, people are sooo ignorant when it comes to crap like this. Why? Because this is ONLY one show out of how many? And now, all of a sudden, a video denouncing TAPS's authenticity shows up, and people are like, whining because they claim "it's fake?" Well, whatever! It just goes to show how dumb people are without doing ANY RESEARCH ON THE SUBJECT. If you are a TRUE paranormal believer then you'd stand by TAPS knowing their record for honesty!!!

I am a true paranormal beleiver.. I love TAPS. with that said. This is fake. I was in awe when I first say it, but playing it back again and again on my DVR I can SEE its fake. The set up, the way they respond. The LACK of response from jason and that other guy was not bothered by it at all.. And the set up.. "AM I GOING THE THE WRONG DIRECTION? I am going to go..."" huge set up for something to happen on cue.. as a true beleiver, we all know, things do NOT happen on CUE! I am sad.

You may have missed something beginning at 7:31 Grant CLEARLY pulls something out of the collar area before Jason (who was the one inspecting the thermal camera) checks out his collar. You can hear a whipping sound also when Grant does it, I have it on HD DVR but do not know how to upload it, send me a message if you need it and can help me to do it. I agree, Jason wants NOTHING to do with this, he's irritated at Grant. They have nerve calling people haters. Good job btw.
