No matter how anyone could meditate, one can't defeat a man who trains hard such as the true way of Kyokushin where their body is conditioned and can take real hard hits...
@Danzakisan thanks for sharing your point of view. unfortunately its totally worthless as it does not include any facts or proofs. i think you just some butthurt fag in here to troll because you just got your ass kicked by some bullies in school.
I belive that all this idiots trashing karate because is not full contact don't know what they are talking about. Being hit full contact with a naked fist is vicious. I'm a beginer in karate and I trained for the first time with another sensei who does more kumite and I was hit chudan with a mawashi geri by a brown belt, with leg protection, I felt it through my guts. I felt the pain for 2 weeks and I thought my kidney was removed. It was just muscles contraction, but still, fighting is serious.
@touretul karate was tamed down because people died. take someone with stone crushing power and put them in a no glove match damn. and it became an industire. thanx to mma there are alot less mcdojos for karate they all switch to mma. allowing for the true art to cleans it self of the crap that has made it laughable. i love karate in all its forms goju shotokan ect it all rocks. keep it up and do us the karateka proud
Oyama-dono was the greatest master of all times. what he did for the world of budo was,is and always will be outstanding. he not only talked about strenght, he was strong.
them man was old and had cancer but he still got up their and did his thing. thats why he looks like a beginner and he didnt look like a begginer, he just looked old., he was sick, and couldnt go all out like he use to.if you had cancer you would not be able to do what this man did at his age!!
@edlo123 Could any of these internet armchair wonders do such a thing train every day all your life even with end stage cancer, arthritis etc? Today we can benefit from chinese dit da jow, modern sports medicine, ancient acupuncture, but Oyama did everything with guts and hard work, leading by example to the end.
@macktheknife888 it is because they are relaxed and comfortable with their movements. Older karateka do not waste as much energy and their appreciation of maai is better. They can move more naturally and shed the rigidity of the beginner.

Mas Oyama, was a karate master who founded Kyokushinkai, arguably the first and most influential style of full contact karate. He was born Choi Yeong-eui (최영의; 崔永宜), but preferred to be called Choi Bae-dal (최배달; 崔倍達) indicate his Korean ethnicity Zainichi Korean, he spent most of his life living in Japan and eventually became a Japanese citizen while also retaining his Korean citizenship
it is not the art that makes the man strong..it is the man that makes the art strong..I do not discuss what 'style' I train as this can also be an advantage when meeting an unknown opponent..one thing I have learned from my training and I believe it is most important.."NEVER underestimate your opponent!"..if he has meditated strongly on whatever his discipline is and has trained in perserverance..then ANY man of ANY art can defeat another man regardless of his art..thank you for reading..
@the2ofme Wow you sound like a really wise guy.Do you think you could teach me some stuff i have been into martial arts my whole life i'm 15 right now though but i would love to learn from a person from you. Thanks i hope you reply
@the2ofme You are absolutely correct! Styles of martial arts mean nothing. It's only the martial artist. The one who trained harder, better, and with more focus and determination is the one who will prevail in any situation.
you guys havent been in real kyokushin training, and for more info the test for black belt is in japan, any black belt that got promoted outside of japan is not a certified sensei, and the SENSEI (not instructor) doesnt punch you in the ribs, you have to perform 10 fights of 3 mins each, perform katas and break boards with almost every part of your body and its not that hard. OUS
Lots of black belts were promoted to Yudansha level outside of Japan both during Mas Oyamas tenure and that of his sucessor(s),the correct title for someone who has a 1st or 2nd Dan grade only is Senpai,Sensei is for 3rd or 4th Dans .
The art of "Tameshewari" is a test, how far you'll have progressed in your training (focus, speed, strength etc) and it not "wreck your hands" if you've done your training properly.
"Dumb" is a definition of lack of knowledge you just dispayed.
lol nothing, the time i trained in kyokushin was a real eye opener. The trainer I had was a complete nutcases, who taught us if your a black belt in karate.. you can take on 6 men in street fight easy!!...I've never heard such rubbish for any other martial arts instructor ever!...
one of the tests for black belt he would punch the students in the ribs.if he broke the ribs, the student was "no good to him"... this is crazy stuff, i don't care if your 6,10 300 pounds, if you get someone who know how to punch there GONNA break
I believe he trained under Gogen 'The Cat' Yammaguchi around the same time. The whole world owes Oyama sensei for bonding Shotokan and Goju Ryu. The result was 'Kyokushinkai'
I do the pinan 1-4 katas, currently a blue belt. I practiced taekwondo before and other martial arts like judo and karate do shotokan (at the university). It is funny that when I began practicing Taekwondo I looked down on other forms of karate. Now I hold karate in the highest steem and not so for taekwondo which has become way too commercial for my liking.
I'm a karate man as well, but I admit the Korean arts have great leg training exercises. TKD may have become too dime a dozen, but those who are serious about it train well.
somewhere around the middle of the video he's comparing himself to Miyamoto Musashi by saying that his art is based around personal development and toughness and all that; something more about devoting 100% to one's chosen path.
Even if I don't like Kyokushin so much, I still think Oayama was a pretty smart guy. SO someone who understands japaneese , please translate this video!!! I think its important for all practitioners of martial arts.
