Im going to be very blunt about this. I am sick and tired of F-22 fanboys and a bunch of uninformed idiots classifying the hornet as a piece of shit. Sure it does only mach 1.8 but guess what? The pilots and mechanics that i know and have met love the bug. Also id rather take my 2 superhornets instead of just one F-22 and id much rather have my 2 superhornets in tip top shape ready to fight rather then have the F-22 sitting on the tarmac due to a faulty oxygen system or 30 hours of maintenance.
The new F-18 E/F is BadAss. It took the former F-14 drivers a bit to warm up to it (amazing plane itself but became too old and expensive to operate and maintain), but I think they're diggin' it now.
the Super Hornet is the best multi role fighter in the modern world.its been a proven success.more nations are now considering upgrading their F-18C's to the E/F Hornets like Australia & maybe India will also select the Super Hornet as their new multi role fighter.A number of other countries are considering it too.it pretty much does everything that is required and offers good agility & is reliable, can carry all types of ordinance .
@TheRAFHarrier Actually (being Aussie myself) Australia only selected them as an interim replacement for the F-111 till we get the F-35As. See we are going to replace our legacy hornets with three F-35 squadrons, and then once we get the fourth squadron we will retire the F-18 super hornet (that is if we do go along with the fourth squadron, then the super hornets stay, although this is highly unlikely.
