  • whatever my bro...you're still my idol...

  • sweet Jesus he's amazing... but in all seriousness I think him and Neil Peart should have a drum off haha

  • oo MIKE IS SICK!!!!

  • did he mess up at 2:16??

  • me gusta mas esa bataka ke la del fantoche de terry bocio o como se llame jejej xD

  • Mick portnoy es mi idolo

  • otimo

  • wow very nice at 3:59 to 4:30 :D

  • mike may not be the most technically gifted drummer of all time, but goddamn...he lays it down soooo hard and the times I've seen him live, it's so fun to watch....character and creativity beat out technical jackoffery any day of the week for me...

  • Happy birthday, Mike! Stay cool! We love you!

  • is that piano part at the end still part of the dance of eternity?

  • In fact... the Metropolis Pt.2, Scenes From A Memory it's a coneptual album... it means that the cd it's just one song, but no that piano at the end is One Last Time

  • love the Keyboard at 2:40

  • this is in my opinion the best drumkit he has.

  • @timmotjo17 Really? I like it to but I cant make my mind up. The Siamese monster or the awake kit. I like them all tho.

  • @timmotjo17 // This is also one of my favorites, but Albino Monster is best and nicest looking i think^^ my opinion :p

  • 1:52-1:54 love that

  • ladies and gentlemen there is PORTNOY

  • how he can remind of all of these parts??? lol

  • cuz he's mike portnoy :)

  • his snare makes my penis cum..

  • 4:00 tasty!

  • best drummer ever !!!!!! ;)

  • Well i'm not a drummer but I know that this is certainly a great drummer and this isnt easy to play.

  • fast playing does not equal good playing, getting ridiculous time signatures to flow perfectly with awesome beats and polyrythems is good playing. watch how he runs his double bass through almost the whole thing and switches on and off beat with his feet while his hands are totally on target. hard stuff to do. Hes truly the best drummer of all time

  • totally agree

  • dude. learn to spell rhythm right.

  • haha! sorry about that :) You are correct though, If I am going to provide an opinion on something, I should do so with good grammar.

  • This song isnt as difficult as it looks like. Anyway, when im trying to count with it i always loose beat [xD] , so its much better to play it from hearing.

  • ya some parts are reasonable but its true you have to get a pulse for each signature instead of counting it out, never the less, its still really hard

  • well the drums on this song isnt really THAT hard, once you get a hang of it. I do think that DT have made mroe difficult songs, alteast for the drums. At trying to count, dont :D you will just get confused ;) listen to it and just copy. When you know how it goes, start improvise which, i think, is alot of fun with DT songs ;) try do something he doesnt. So conclusion: drums, hard but not impossible, the other instruments, i dont know but i think harder to play... atleast bass ;)

  • well yes and no, it depends on if you want to get every fill and every note just right, or if your just trying to get the groove down. Ya, The Glass Prison and the Great Debate are probably harder on drums to be honest

  • mike portnoy-my one & only love.

  • . . . woah . . .

  • Awesome Mike I just got your signed drum sticks today man and their kickass

  • thanks, but i'm not MP... i'm just a fan... but, i'm happy that you are interested in music and mostly progressive music

  • esa es la esencia de la musica de verdad

  • That was the sickest drumming ever

  • esta shido!!!!

  • waa sta shido =) sip sip
