he probably can drive remember this thing has alot of power you know u cant just go in it and oush down throttle other wise your away, he mabey forgot to put foot on clutch at sum point or panicked trying to press brake and pressed accelerator but still yes a bit idiotic :L, but it may not have been his fault because as i sed this car has alot of power !
It'll hurt the value of this car at least by half, in other words it means there is a Veyron available for $800,000.°° and with $100,000.°° more it can be fixed and put back on the road assuming the engine was off and didn't suck on water. $900,000 for a salvaged veyron is a good deal isn't it.
@chacemonk You're a dumbass! I wasn't talking about the Bugatti! I probably know more about that car than anybody except for Bugatti itself! I was talking about a comment that somebody else posted, idiot!
what a stupid piece of shit poor excuse for a human being, crashing a car like that into salt water... jesus H christ, give me the fucking thing, i'll take it...
One of my friends brother totaled his car just because he had to text while driving. It's not like this driver is the only dumb driver, it just seems anyone who crashes a nice car is automatically the worst driver, even though someone who was drunk driving a Toyota and killed someone wouldn't get as much attention.
I read that the engine of the car was running for 15 minutes in the water... what an idiot. After driving the car into the lagoon, the first thing to do would be to turn off the engine, in order to prevent further damage.
ehhh. Could of been worse. Dumbasses like that kill kids everyday while driving and using cell phones. It pretty sickening but, everyone will go home tonight and live to see the next day.
o yeah...carbon fiber doesn't rust you chevy driving niggaz LOL. also if this was a smart driver, which obviously isn't the case, he would have used the window to get out. i bet the car was dry and would have remained dry if he didn't open the door.
ha ha id bet you gotta be somewhat smart to earn the kinda doe to afford a million dollar car unless you have won the lottery, you on the other hand well.....no car is going to stay dry half submerged in water regardless of how much its worth, even amphibious vehicles leak. besides, electrical devices short circuit under water, rendering the electronics useless(window motor). even more so in salt water which is much more conductive.
@Choice777 This was Texas. He was probably too fat to climb out the window! (No hatin', Texas. Statistics don't lie, y'all!)
And if it were my car, I'd suck the water out WITH MY MOUTH before calling it a loss. And with every moutful I'd just think, "One million dollars!" *spit* "Bugatti Veyron!" Insurance can only compensate; it can't replace what you had (before you drove it into the water).
@Texarmageddon im with you on that but when a car goes through salt water its done for because the salt thats in the water will harden inside the engine
check out at 2:49 how he whas his hads in the mud water in order to move the stering wheel i know you dont need money when you have a car like this but how we say in Mexico NO MAMES
because of the investment they have made in building this machine, they happen to be loss for each of these cars they sell. Its in the site check it out n was also in top gear news.
About the only thing salvageable on that car is the body and engine, and then only if it gets dunked in a freshwater lake a few times to wash out the saltwater.
Lol. Bless. You try and find a new Veyron for less than £1m. Try £1.2m. And of course you can do more that a £1m worth of damage to a Veyron. Like I said, they cost £5m to make. Are you telling me you can't buy a car for £50 and do more than £50 worth of damage?
er, you ever heard of insurance? that would be a write off. and the guy who did this paid $1.2mil not in £. you do the conversion, veyrons aren't £1.2mil. patronising muppet...
I agree it would be a write off. But that's not what you said. You said you can't do £1m of damage to a veyron. Which is not true. Furthermore, look at classifieds ie, pistonheads, autotrader etc and find me a delivery mileage Veyron for under £1.2m. You're out of your depth in this conversation pal.
Why would you buy a Veyron from Autotrader? You'd go through an official dealer, surely. Anyway, after a quick 10 mins of research I managed to get a price of £899,000...You're move ;)
He's pulling the car up the ramp after looping the chain through the tyres. Surprisingly, there isn't a tow hook on the back of the Veyron and this is the method that causes the least amount of damage. :)
Well first off the body won't rust. Carbon fiber doesn't rust.
The spoiler is up, he was hauling ass, and whether there was a pelican or not, he lost control, missed a corner, and splash, now the interior, wiring, filters, and whatever the actual impact took out are ruined... probably salvageable though... not like somebody's gonna turn in a veyron to the auto wrecking lot
The spoiler is raised, so he was traveling at high speed, and not on air brake mode, so he never even touched the brakes........I think the lame pelican story is for the insurance company
I think the best part is that he didn't even turn off the engine when he got out of the car, so it died out after 15mins being in salt water, and he didn't even close the door
steering... (lol... seriously. there is a vid out on the interwebs - probably posted here soon - of him slowly turning into the water filmed from a van... no insurance for you!)

I drove BV on forza too, and crashed all the time. the car's handling is so bad....
Per my testing, I beleive the Bugatti handling sucks, though, it won drag race simply the power to top gear, see:

but handing is not, see:
