@rampagetv You obviously don't know the whole story behind this recording. He recorded this at home as a thank you to his fans for buying his album, and to give them a free recording. Someone added these fake strings/winds in later. The raw file is just him and his acoustic. He states that he included the iPhone text because he figures the best of recordings always get interrupted anyway. And I can't even HEAR the damn sound, so I don't think it's anything to be upset with.

@oldham42 You are absolutely right about the source of this recording, and JM receiving a text. I remember the night he put this up on his blog, as a thank you to his fans. And to whomever used it, the word "retard" is offensive... John himself has stated many times that the word should be banned. This recording sounds nice, but to claim it's a rare orchestral version done by JM and Matt Shockley is outrageous and just WRONG... and copyright infringement, no doubt.
