  • Fuck and Go, maybe. But didn't women's hearts melt with this kind of music? Imo the 'warming up' is skipped nowadays.

  • Hi, my name is Lee, Bruce Lee.

  • Thanks for posting this the way it should've been done. This song should have been placed at the beginning with the opening credits rather than the end.

  • RUBBISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What a voice..............so clear .

  • Matt Monro (NOT MONROE), osounds a lot like a young Frank Sinatra, before alcoholism strained the latter's voice a bit.

  • Que tal clasico

    Que bien suena

    Saludos desde Peru.

  • I 100% agree with you, in the past love was so much better than now!

  • @TheA0a0a0a0a0a0 I agree - it was safe sex proper back then - I had a badge that said tell me now before I spend 20 quid - lol

  • I have been a James Bond fan, Sean Connery Is a good Bond actor, but Daniel Craig Is the best new 1 please Sean Connery make another James Bond film, I even know every James Bond film, Dr No, Goldfinger, For Your Eyes Only, The Spy who loved me, Moonraker, From Russia with Love, You Only live twice, Goldeneye, Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, The Man with the Golden Gun, The World Is not Enough, Tomorrow never dies, Die Another day, Live and Let Die, A view to a kill.

  • @blues123ize You forgot On her Majesty's secret service, Octopussy, Licence to kill, Living Daylights, Thunderball, Diamonds are Forever, and Never Say Never Say Never Again. :p

  • @Seargent363 and the no1 - GOLDFINGER - with hod job

  • @midnightmoocher Nope he had that on there

  • I saw this with my parents in 1963, in the movies. Actually, they started me with, "Dr. No". I have been hooked ever since. And let's not forget Barry Nelson, who played the first JB on film.

  • The opening is much better with the song ;)

  • DEADLY LIGHTNING - FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE

DEADLY LIGHTNING COVERS THE VERY KNOWN EPIC SONG

IN A DIFFERENT WAY, A METAL BALLAD.

  • best bond singer: monro, bassey , jones

  • Actually, the film is from the '60s, not the '70s. It was the second of the Bond films. And the singer's name is MONRO, not Monroe.

  • And his last name was spelled "Monro", not "Monroe".

  • Am I the only one who wants to motorboat that 007 at 0:23 ?

  • Nice try, but it doesn't work. It's as bad as listening to the beatles without earmuffs. Sorry old boy. Better luck next time.

  • From Rússia With Love , Trilha sonóra do Filme de James Bond de 1963 Interplete da música cantor ( Matt Monro ) Filme Moscou contra 007 com o ator Sean Connery.

  • Beautiful John Barry music with moronic lyrics by linoel Bart. They have nothing to do with the film. (He's not coming from Russia and there is no "bride"), make little internal sense, aren't grammarical ("Oh, you holded me so") and don't even fit the rythym pattern. Ugh!

  • @44032 You've misheard the line 'oh you haunted me so'.

  • @44032 It's "Oh, you HAUNTED me so." If you're going to criticize, at least get your facts straight. And it's Lionel Bart not "linoel." And it's "grammatical" not "grammarical."

  • @UncleCharlieOakley I stand corrected, (including the typos). But it still doesn't fit the rhythm pattern or have anything to do with the film.

  • @44032 Why don't you get your facts straight before using words like "moronic"? Lionel Bart composed this music, not John Barry

  • what a film

  • 15 people work for spectre

  • @franksinatra34 Me too! Saw all these great Bond films at the drive in theatre in Atlanta with Mom and Dad. My Dad was far cooler than I gave him credit for back then.

  • cant beat mat for a bit of backgroung ,when you are

    into a good book

  • I think romance was so much better in the "70". Today its just a f*** and go!

  • @RImusclebear Couldn't agree with you more. Today, people just think that it's normal behavior and that it should've always been considered as such. And, yet, many wonder why couples can't seem to stay together like our grandparents and greatgrandparents; wonder why literally half of all marriages end in divorce. It's sad.

I believe the "fuck and go" mentality is what's dragging this culture down. Women (and men) are mostly viewed and treated like toys to be played with when the urge hits.

  • @TenderTrap86 I so agree. It's sex, the fast-food way!

  • @TenderTrap86 No more romance nowaday ;(

  • @TenderTrap86 ..Completely your own prejudice, reinforced by the sentiment many have that the world was best when they were young. "The romantic 70's"?? Funny .. most people describe that as one of the most hedonistic decades of the century! As for marriage.. our grandparents stayed together because they were too religious/conservative and grandma couldn't get a good job to raise a family. And women treated like toys to be played with? *Now* more than .. say .. in the 50's? Puh-lease.

  • @getkristan well said, thank you.

  • @TenderTrap86 James Bond is exactly the same

  • @RImusclebear I don't believe so. Promiscuity has always been around. It depends on one's breeding, who you mix with, your culture as to whether you tend to socialise in such ways. Don't believe me? If not seek out a book titled The Rotenberg Collection, Forbidden Erotica.

  • @RImusclebear

    The movie is from 1963

  • @RImusclebear You're making that comment on a Bond theme? Bond epitomizes the "fuck and go!" mentality. He gets the girl and then leaves her between every single movie. There is not a whiff of romance in Bond's approach.

  • @RImusclebear Are you kidding? Before Aids?

It was f*** two and go f*** another!

  • @RImusclebear errr, but wasn't james bond the epitome of "f*** and go!"??

  • @beatniece yes he was a comlete B - with women - lol

  • @RImusclebear I agree with you

  • @RImusclebear fuck and go is james bond in 3 words

  • Why didn't they do it like this? This was perfect!

  • Why do people persist in spelling Matt`s surname wrong - its Monro and has always been!

  • @45rpmSINGLES

    It's the Marilyn factor.

    watch?v=1DG0cVUd0pI

  • This was Matt's masterpiece.

    Gosh how he is missed!

  • For me, there's No doubt about it. Frank Siantra, Tom Jones and Enderberg Humphrey are the3 MUSKETEERS of Voice..

  • @itotrader

I believe even Sinatra was once quoted as saying Matt Monroe had the better voice.

  • Amazing but too short (Wish there was a full instrumental version

  • Sounds almost like FS. Two guys were strong enough to have sung in these movies. What resonance! Great post!!!

  • Sounds almost like FS. Two guys were strong enough to have sung in these movies. Great post!!!

  • huh for some reason i'm hungry for a belly dancer

    Great song by the way.

  • ''From Russia with love I fly to you Much wiser since my goodbye to you I've traveled the world to learn I must return from Russia with love I've seen places, faces and smiled for a moment But oh, you haunted me so Still my tongue tied young pride Would not let my love for you show In case you'd say no To Russia I flew, but there and then I suddenly knew you'd care again. My running around is through I fly to you from Russia with love.''

  • From Matt With Love. Five Stars.

  • i love this song just like the movie

  • Love Matt Monro the voice smooth as silk, I'm going to have to try and learn this song. My girlfriend is Russian and this song always reminds me of her. :)

  • @APriceProduction .tell her to slow down

  • Comment removed

  • So sensual...

  • this, Thunderball, and Goldfinger are the 3 best Bond films

  • if i ever get a Russian chick i would sing her this... while we both really high or drunk about 2 make some sweet love

  • @05tonytin dude your weird.

  • Matt Monroe with arrangement by John Barry. A marriage made in heaven. Simply beautiful.

  • Robert Shaw.. the Anti-bond..

  • saw the movie with my parents twice when i was a kid, we had the soundtrack album, but i never enjoyed listening to this song more than i did just now

  • Love you

  • Quite exquisite, even Frank Sinatra thought Matt was great, what a reference!

  • just saw this movie today, "fucking epic" love the cheezy 60s fight scenes *giggle*

  • Russia,take it back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Two Bond theme songs I enjoy the most. This one by the great Mat Monro and "You Only Live Twice" by Nacy Sinatra.

In each movie they transform the Bond film into an unforgetable work of art.

The only Bond which appraoches Sean Connery is the present one.

And it was good to watch Robert Shaw in this movie. R.I.P.

  • If you ask me, this opening is WAY before its time

  • @RBkidd510 You are right :)

  • nice song

  • From Russia with Love....... what an enigmatic title, what a fascination this Country holds in the British Psyche! good song, well done! Bond rules , Oh Yeah!

  • We're playing this at my Grandad's funeral on Tuesday. RIP Grandad x

  • Eu tinha quinze aninhos, não pude assistir o filme, pois, era proibido para menores,

mas curti muito essa música lindíssima!!! Obrigadão

  • My favourite Bond theme - by far.

    Next would be 'Goldfinger'..

Why this is never in amongst the so-called 'best' Bond themes I'll never know - some of the others are, frankly, crap.

  • Esta es una de las secuencias de créditos iniciales mejor logradas en la serie de películas de James Bond, fantástica la interpretación de Matt Monroe.

  • fake and gay

  • e2 ba un? bnahahahaha

  • nice

  • He use to be a bus conductor on my road :D

Your with me whenever im on a bus Matt!

  • The most amazing singer ever to come out of the UK!!!

  • Actually the vocal was played during the end credits.....the opening was instrumental;...Great song and singer

  • @eb641 Yes, but this is the point. All of the subsequent films (minus "OHMSS") used a non-instrumental theme. LuiECuomo has created this to give us a look at "FRWL"'s title sequence with Matt Monro's song instead of John Barry's instrumental.

@LuiECuomo: I can't do this myself, but I'd love to see k.d Lang's "Surrender" (a FAR superior song to Sheryl Crow's "Tomorrow Never Dies") over that film's title sequence.

  • @eb641 That singing and those images simply don't fit: there's no way they would have ever put an eunuch's voice singing love to the horny cats on a tin roof that are shown belly-dancing in the credits.

  • @eb641, it was actually first heard as source music come from the radio of James Bond's Bentley in an early scene in the film where he's making love to Sylvia Trench.

  • Happy Birthday Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov ,born today in 1870.

  • watch russia with hate ! ! ! ortodox brothers forever together !

  • Russians are quite weird country, I mean people live so poor in Russia and so raw and undeveloped however that people pretty intelligence

  • Its almost impossible to hear, will someone try and find out what that high speed voice is saying in 1:02

  • Did anyone else notice there is a high speed recording at 1:02

  • matt monro forever

  • Why do so many people spell his name wrong ? it`s not Monroe or Munro but Monro, if you can`t get the basics right then don`t bother at all !!!

  • Have you any idea at all just how difficult it is translating from one language to another?, if you were trying to write in another language you would see that its a mass of things to remember, many languages do not even have the same sounds. I am British in Finland, out here Finnish, Russian, Estonian, Swedish, Lappi and so i understand what this poor Japanese guy is having to cope with. Monroe or Munro "A Rose by any other name would smell as sweet"

  • I'm sorry to write comments in Japanese away. I attach the results of machine translation. "

Thank you up. When I was in high school circa 1965, I was a member of the chorus of club activities. I fondly remember that sometimes singing this song Tta with members of the choir. "

  • ubi carita et amour deu est...caring and love...love is a many splendored thing...Matt did it well!!!!

  • @ predlycon ABSOLUTELY!!! =D

  • best bond title sequence . . . EVER!

  • DO YOU KNOW 「GOOD BYE LIGHT OF BERLIN」 SUNG BY M MONROE HE IS THE BEST SINGER

  • Matt Monro......One of the most pitch-perfect gifts the world has heard.

  • Sinatra said, Matt was the best.

  • michael buble should do the next bond track

  • @bigyoungy las canciones para peliculas de james bond ya no son lo que eran antes......

  • no ablo espanol don dae englies?

    thanks for replying

  • listen the "carzy love"cd of buble, sounds to me ,very bond like, but the last songs of this movies sound not more in the classic " bond " style of movie themes.

  • Yes, a great film, I am a Robert Shaw fan and think he played a great part.

  • Excellent song for an excellent film,,,

  • This is the best Bond film

  • Super!!!

    from racha gud layk!!!

    privet iz Russia!!!

  • Sublime!

  • thef forgotten artist here is Robrt Brownjohn ...typographer of 60's 70's who designed this title sequence.. he was a rule breaker experimenting with the sex , the inner ecstasy and the word .

  • Thanks, Interesting info! He sure was a great talent and THE bond designer before the Maurice Binder era!

  • I adore Matt Munro's vocal of this song which is fitting as I've always thought From Russia With Love represents the very best of the Bond films--Connery as James Bond was at the apex of his powers--classic entertainment all around.

  • アップしていただきありがとうございます。1965年高校2年、 クラブ活動として合唱団に所属していた頃、メンバーの皆とよく歌 ったことを懐かしく思い出します。

  • @ HIJIRIKAWA.....

    What?

  • The early Bondsongs are the best! The only late Bondsongs i like are "Goldeneye" and "You Know My Name". My favourite Bondsongs are the three sung by Dame Shirley. Then comes "From Russia With Love" and "Thunderball"...

  • from russia with love is one of the best songs in the world. I really love it. John Barry is such a great composer

  • @franksinatra34 I hear you on that. Same here.

FRWL is definetly one of the best Bond movies ever made. It made Connery just Legendary in this role.

  • I much preferred the instrumental version of this song.

  • From Russia,with love.

  • LOT BETTER THAN SINATRA

  • dunno why but this song reminds me a chocolate

  • Matt monroe is my grandads cousin :) my grandad and him used to sing in pubs and my grandad used to play the piano because they was like a duet

To be honest .. if none of you dont believe me then i dont mind because its pretty mind bumping for me aswell ... but yeah hes was my grandads cousin :)

  • Thank You Post Person for letting us ALL hear/see...

  • Damn, I love his voice and this song is great ^^!

  • A sensuous voice with evocative imageries, this video brings out the enigma of a secret agent theme, and the untold longing for love.

The graphic materials are basic, but the creative edge is ingenious. This is the kind of effects that is refreshing and enchanting. If this is the original from the movie, then it is awesomely ahead of its time without use of computers. Even if it is done nowadays, it is still outstanding and trendy.

  • This guy - MATT MONRO should have sung all the bond themes! He was and is the Greatest!

  • It actually fits the opening credits perfectly/

  • From Russia with love I fly to you Much wiser since my goodbye to you I've traveled the world to learn I must return from Russia with love I've seen places, faces and smiled for a moment But oh, you haunted me so Still my tongue tied young pride Would not let my love for you show In case you'd say no To Russia I flew, but there and then I suddenly knew you'd care again. My running around is through I fly to you from Russia with love.
  • Thank you for posting the Lyric.

  • yes thanks for posting the lyrics LOVE this song

  • Dude! I was gonna make this video if I couldn't find it! You saved me some work. Awesome job.

  • this page is for people who want to listen to Matt you ignorant gitt, go take your spam somewhere else ignorant fucker. I do appologise to the genuine fans for the language.

  • Lol tankie, well said!!

What a marvellous singer Matt was, glad he gave up the bus driving!

  • My sentiments exactly.

  • My favourite Bond movie of all time. Only flaw was they didnt use Matt in the opening titles, but instead during the film and the End credits.

  • The beginning is so awesome. Especially when the opening directly is about to begin.

  • Song aside, genius way to display credits on an opening movie. I bet people read each and every name

  • 0:31

i do have to admit i giggled a bit here, his name vibrating in and out and then shaking

  • Very nice theme song - so powerful and emotional. Matt Monro did a great job!

  • How I love this song.

  • I love this song that Matt Monroe sang for the Bond movie 'From Russia with Love'. Matt aka Terry Parsons was a close friend of my father from his teenage years till Matt made it and became a Star!

I met Matt in the at the Talk of the Town in 1983 and had a nice chat about my Dad and the biz! He sadly died in 1985!

  • From russia with love I fly to you Much wiser since my goodbye to you I've travelled the world to learn I must return from russia with love I've seen places, faces and smiled for a moment But oh, you haunted me so Still my tongue tied, young pride Would not let my love for you show I case you say no To russia I flew but there and then I suddenly knew you'd care again My running around is through I fly to you, from russia with love
  • This is how it should've been!

  • Mr. Monro was England's " Frank Sinatra".

Regretably, he passed on at an early age.

  • great movie!!

    great song!

  • This doesn't work.

The song is best used over the end credits with John Barry's instrumental version of Lionel Barts's melody used over the opening titles. Broccoli and Saltzman got it right in 1963.

  • the song by itself is good...and the video itself is good...not sure if it goes well together though

  • That is because this is not the audio they used in the movie itself. It was an instrumental with a higher tempo. The version uploaded is the slower version sung by Matt Munroe.

  • ah, that's it. I could feel a sense of hesitation when watching the video. Now I know why. Thanks

  • They did use it in the movie. In the scence where Bond is on the river with the girl and in the End Credits in Venice.

  • the BEST!

  • The greatest British singer ever!!! So please spell his name correctly.,.. It's Matt MUNRO not Monroe.

  • You are wrong its actually MONRO

  • Terrific lyrics, first-rate arrangement, and awesome vocals...flawless piece altogether...best Matt Monro performance.

  • does anyone remeber eunice gayson?, i have always considered her the first bond girl, she appeared in dr no before ursula andress and briefly at the start of from russia with love....although miss andress will forever be remembered for that bikini scene as honey ryder, miss gayson appeared first in a casino scene...please correct me if i,m wrong......

  • No, you're spot on. Sylvia Trench (Eunice Grayson) was definitely the first Bond girl, she is first seen in the Dr No casino scene playing chemin de fer with our hero, he then bones her in his flat before flying off to Jamaica. A very sexy lady indeed.

  • Yes you're right, she is technically the first Bond girl, but not a major one.

  • great

  • loved this as a kid.. remember walking to the movie theatre and it became my favorite bond movie and theme..always stay up if it comes on even if i have to get up early..

  • Oh, and I also have to agree with some of the commenters that this is certainly one of the best (or, at least, most sophisticated) Bond movies ever. Sean Connery at the top of his game, Lotte Lenya and Robert Shaw as two unforgettable villains, crisp direction, wonderful spy intrigue... what's not to love?

  • The very first Bond theme is quite forgotten today (esp. compared to "Goldfinger", which came right after it), but, you know what - honestly, I love this one much more. Its subtle, old-fashioned melancholy just makes it so much more appealing that Dame Shirley's bombastic vocals. Matt Monro's performance and John Barry's arrangement esp. are truly a sight to behold (not to mention that this whole title sequence is a marvel of graphics - and sexual titilation, of course!)

  • Pity people can't take the time to spell his name properly.
